The ache in his head nauseated Gaara until he could taste the bile seep onto his tongue. Swallowing it reluctantly, Gaara slowly sat up in a soft bed, then realized he was tied down in chains. His eyes widened as he realized he was in a small room, in Konoha from the decorative plants around his bed. Gaara tried to use his sand to escape the chains, but he had a few scrolls on him to limit his chakra use. His frustration grew as he gritted his teeth, then saw the door creek open.

Amane slowly came into the room, her eyes filled with fear, “Hey...”

“Get out.”

“Gaara, I need you to understand-”

“I said get out.”

She was about to enter the room before a firm hand was placed on his shoulder. Sakura stepped in as she shoved Amane out of the way. The kunoichi locked the door as she came near Gaara, “Your wife abandoned us, she's a traitor Lord Kazekage.”

Though appreciating that Sakura referred Ura as his current wife, he still couldn't tear away from the fact that Ura was apart of Sound. Nonetheless...their leader now. Just the thought of Ura being anywhere near corrupted made him even more nauseated. It just..it just didn't make sense. Images of his beautiful wife and mother of his son flashed through his mind, the smile that woke him in the morning, and the softness of her eyes... The Ura now wasn't the same Ura as before. This Ura was a much stronger version, but a weaker version at the same time.

Sakura glared harder at Gaara, she could see it in his eyes that he still thought of Ura as the same as before. In her anger and rage, she raised her hand and slapped him across the face. Gaara, who was never struck by a woman before, just laid there shocked that he was hit. Sakura, who never even battled with Gaara, was also astonished that she had hit him in a fit of anger, “Dammit Gaara! Don't you understand!? Ura is going to be tracked down and killed. It's up to the few of us to keep her safe so she can commit to her plan and kill off the entire Sound Army.”

“Ura...she won't be able to do it on her own,” Gaara grumbled as he tried to sit up again.

She looked him up and down, “I'll release the chains and scrolls if you give me your word that you'll stay here. We don't need two missing Sand-nin.”

“Yea..” Gaara groaned, then watched as Sakura released the chains and removed the scrolls, “Where's Naruto?”

“He's talking with a few other Kage's on the phone, at least making sure everyone else is up-to-date,” Sakura answered as she put the items in her pack on her back, “I'm going to be by your side for awhile, precaution by Naruto. He doesn't want you going after Ura for any reason.”

Gaara seemed a bit confused on this notion. Ura was his wife, everything that he ever wanted out of his life for the mistakes he made. How was he supposed to explain the situation to Osamu, who loved his mother even through death? He ran his coarse fingers through his hair in his thought process. Ura was on her own totally, how was he supposed to protect her from such a distance?

Sitting next to Gaara, Sakura tried to make a reassuring face to the Kazekage, “Look, i'm pretty sure Ura knows what she's doing. Ura's managed to escape death a few times before, and now it's her time to show off her new skills. You know how she is, she's a definite show-off.”

That was very true, Gaara could vaguely remember Ura's new techniques with Kabutome hidden inside of her soul. She could summon a little bit of his chakra in order to strengthen herself. A whole new breed of a kunoichi, much stronger than Gaara could ever be at that point. She had the whole world at her feet as the new top general of the Sound army. If she kills enough civilians...she would be trusted. Gaara hoped he would never have to fight her, he wouldn't know whether to win or lose for his country.

“Lord Kazekage, i'm going to escort you to Naruto now. It seems there is good and bad news,” Sakura pulled Gaara up by his arm, “As a Kazekage, you must be under my protection in this state of war.”

“State of war?” Gaara mumbled as he glanced at his through the corner of his eyes.

“There's a dangerous person that's wanted, perhaps a few of the Kages are going to want her exterminated before she invades their villages.”

“Do not test me!”

With a hari through a Sound-nin's heart, Ura made her place an even more apparent. She had gotten into a drunk brawl with one of her many captains below her. Several lay dead at her feet, the other sergeants scurried off to their posts for the evening as Ura sat by the fire. Her status made her renown for her quick temper and brash decisions.

She chugged more imported sake down her throat, not as good as Suna's. Wiping her mouth with her arm, Ura gazed at the fire. More lives were taken, most of them by her own hand. It was all necessary to gain the favor of the entire Sound Army. It would take months to gather the entire army together, but she would have to endure before they all trusted her. She glanced around her, everyone had actually left her alone. There wasn't a trace of chakra around her, which was nice for once. Ura closed her crimson eyes as she begged for sleep to not bring her nightmares again. The sight of children dying, mothers clinging to their newborns for life haunted Ura daily. She was their murderer, and one day she would stand in trial for her deeds.

A twig snapped.

Ura was already on her feet with an umbrella pointed at the sound, “Get up and show yourself.”

What sounded like birds chirping made Ura hesitant. She could vaguely remember that move from her childhood... Calling upon her Sharingan, Ura's eyes widened when she saw a familiar face appear as he ran towards her with what looked like a ball of lightning. She leaped into the air, he barely missed her and jumped up to her at the same time. Releasing the ball of light into her umbrella, Ura was sent flying higher into the air as she tried to push the Chidori ball away from her. Finally shoving it away from her in a different direction, she released both the umbrellas into the air, spinning rapidly. Hari spun off, but connected to her chakra strings at her finger tips.

Ura moved her arms in front of her, crashing against the Leaf-nin in front of her. He disappeared and reappeared behind her, wrapping his arms around her and held her tightly, “It's been too long...”

“Not long enough!” Ura screamed as she sent her arms back, sending the hari to her back.

He took the attack directly, but only puncturing his pack on his back. Ura growled angrily, but felt his arms shift around her. Confused, Ura then felt herself being thrown across the sky. Unease wrapped around her as she tried to figure out which way she was falling. Summoning her umbrellas, Ura reached for them and held onto them and settled as she glided down the skies.

She landed in a shallow, narrow river near a small waterfall. Ura let go of the umbrellas and put her hands in the water as she coughed from breathing in too much air. It was too cold of a night to be fighting, especially an old enemy/friend. Things were too confusing, was that who she thought he was?

“You've gotten stronger, or you just gained weight.”

Ura reached for her hari, but found her pack was missing. She looked over at him as he swung her hari pack in front of him, “Bastard...”

“It took me awhile to get your attention,” he smirked as he put the hari in his pack.

“Sasuke...” Ura rested her bottom on her calves as she sat in the river, “What the hell do you want now? I'm not going back to Konoha or Gaara.”

“I suspected as much, you don't know but I watched your little 'goodbye' with him,” Sasuke neared her slowly, he watched her every move.

“Then be on your way, I am an enemy of every country at this point,” Ura stood up as she balled up her fists, “I'm much stronger than I was before...”

“I didn't come here to fight,” Sasuke entered the river with her and came closer to her, “If you're going to leave your former husband and your country, you need to see a different path you've forgotten.”

Ura knew exactly what Sasuke was talking about as he lifted her chin up to him. Their eyes connected as the electricity connected them together, how her heart would beat at that moment if she were truly alive. She could faintly feel his hot breath caress her frozen lips, if she weren't already committed to Gaara... Sasuke ran his hand through her hair as his other arm wrapped around her waist, “It's been too long since i've last had you. Too long have I missed your soft touch...you don't know what you've done to me, Ura.”

“Naruto,” Ura stated softly as she pushed herself away from him, “You are committed to Naruto, and I could not do that to him...not again...”

“You did before, and I have ended my ties with him for good. I've waited too long for you, you, the person that kept me on a loose string. Don't you get that you've had me coming and going while you stayed with Gaara!,” Sasuke's sharp, dark eyes narrowed as he balled his fists, “And i've endured it for so many years, watching you marry Gaara, have your son, and be the happy wife and kunoichi while I settle for Naruto.”

“That was your own choice!” Ura shouted angrily, “Don't speak of him as if you never cared for him!”

“I didn't have the choice! It was either pine for you constantly or just get with him because he was into me,” Sasuke shouted loudly as he stomped over to her, “You have the choice to start all over, leave the Sound Army and come with me!”

Ura's eyes widened at what he was offering, a lifetime relationship with Sasuke. She looked up at him with her blood-red, crimson eyes, her lips parted in disbelief. His eyes were speaking the truth, she didn't have to use the Sharingan to know that. The way his breathing gave off his anger, and the way he just glared at her in total resentment made Ura crave him in a way.

She couldn't leave though, and there was no way she was going to leave the Sound Army when she was in the midst of her plan. Ura couldn't choose Sasuke, she wanted to return to Gaara after all was said and done to hold onto her love for him. But...if she released Sasuke, he would constantly follow her or he would ruin her plans. She didn't need him ruining her plans, not when she had so much on the line.

Glaring in return at Sasuke, “How dare you...”

“How dare I? Honestly, you're as stupid as you look right now,” Sasuke glowered even harder at her, “How dare you for leading me on all those years! I could be more than better to you than Gaara ever could! If you had given me the chance I could've offered you more than the world!”

“You couldn't because you weren't the one I wanted to be with! I never fought after you, I never risked my life to keep you safe, and I never loved you the way I loved him,” Ura got in his face, her anger could've flushed her face from pure rage.

“That's why you can now, when he no longer is around to keep you away from me,” Sasuke took hold of the back of her neck and waist as he pulled her into a deep kiss.

Ura gripped onto his arms, he was too strong for her to be released. She felt his moist tongue slowly enter her mouth, tasting her lips and softly grazing her tongue. Her rage rose as she kissed him in return, she wanted to cry in frustration. Though she hated herself for enjoying being in his arms and kissing Sasuke, she didn't want to end it.

Sasuke finally ended the kiss, but kept her in his arms, “Ura...I need you in my life. Even if I have to follow you wherever you go.”

She had no other option, Ura decided on the one thing to keep her plans alive. Reaching up and stroking his cheek, she murmured, “Sasuke...I love you.”

Lies. She could never love Sasuke the way she loved Gaara. If his life was near the end, Ura would not save him. She would never bear him children either. Ura would fight solely for Gaara and Osamu. She felt Sasuke's soft lips crash on hers slowly, kissing him felt like a tainted drug. Ura craved his touch more and more, but the satisfaction would never be there. Sasuke wasn't the man she pined after, the man that she always wanted to fight with, the man that bore her a son. No, Sasuke would forever remain a bloody mark on her past.

*~*~*~*~*~*

“There's a bounty on Ura's head,” Naruto explained as he sipped his coffee, “And i'm afraid there's nothing we can possibly do but fend off any army that goes against her.”

“How are we supposed to do that?” Kankurou groaned as he took off his mask, “Unless you have your shinobi following her every move-”

“Already ahead of you,” Naruto shrugged, “I have two ANBU Black-Ops trailing Ura a few kilometers behind. In fact, I have her exact locations as we speak.”

Kankurou, Temari, Sakura, and Gaara all glanced over at the printing fax machine. Naruto stood up as he sat on his desk, “So...you see, Gaara, the only thing you can do at this point is send a few of your top shinobi to help mine out.”

“There's gotta be more than that,” Gaara shook his head, his eyes narrowing on Naruto, “We can't just send someone out to do our work.”

“If we follow, then it'll look suspicious because her army saw us with her,” Naruto explained, his aggravation growing.

The tension was very high in the room. Gaara could feel the sides being taken around him. Beside him were his siblings, forever on his side and fighting for Ura. Then, there was Naruto and Sakura, both of them stubborn enough to fight against them in a more sensible manner. Gaara couldn't just send someone to watch over Ura, what was he to do with himself? How was he going to tell the situation to Osamu and not want his son to help retrieve his mother?

Naruto could sense Gaara's inner battle and sighed, “Look, the next option is to personally go ourselves, but it would have to be at a much farther distance.”

“Even then it's still risky,” Sakura stated as she crossed her arms, “Hasn't Ura done enough damage already? Why go through all the trouble when she'll just fight us off?”

“Because Ura is our family,” Temari stated just as loudly and crossed her arms, “She's been apart of our family for many, long years. We're not about to leave her behind because of you being selfish.”

“Selfish!?” Sakura gritted her teeth in anger, her eyes flared up.

“Calm down,” Naruto and Kankurou said at the same time.

Temari snorted angrily, “I don't know about any of you, but i'm going after her. She's been my sister for years and I can't abandon her now when she needs us the most. If we just look after her from a good distance, we'll be safe.”

“The question is: will Ura be safe?” Naruto pointed out as he pulled out a map of her location, “Ura is going to invade the surrounding countries of Suna and my country. She's going to try to avoid us completely until she has no choice. At that point, she's going to call upon the entire Sound Army and kill them all on the spot.”

“We can help her there then,” Gaara stood up, wanting to end the discussion.

“Fine, it's settle then. We'll meet at the gates at dawn,” Naruto closed the map, “Bring all your weapons just in case. It's going to be a long few months.”
