Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ World Collision ❯ Confusing quarrels ( Chapter 14 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Alright, here you go! Do keep in mind that some things that may be confusing to you may be cleared up in later chapters, and are meant to make you confused so you'll be like, `Eureka!' later. (When was the last time Eureka came on? I love that show.)

Confused and still feeling rather threatened, Jessica sat at a wooden table across from Deidara who looked off into space. Only about fifteen minutes before, she had pointed out a major flaw between her master and his partner and was almost hurt because of it. She was still having the problem of trying to digest it all. From Deidara stopping Sasori-san's attack and told him that he agreed with her, to how he yelled at her angrily after he dragged her out of the building, she was still baffled. Why had he agreed with her and prevent her from being hit, but then yelled at her afterwards?
Now sitting in the shade of the canopy above their table, she looked down at the ruff wood the blond was tapping his fingers on. In her mind, she was guessing that he was thinking about what he should do now that he was in town. She might have suggested buying food, but she was too nervous to speak again. What if he started yelling at her? All throughout her childhood, she hated being yelled at, and this time felt no different from the other times she had been scolded in her life by her superiors.
Glancing up at the man, she slowly opened her mouth as she couldn't bear the silence between them any longer. “Deidara-Sama, what are we doing?” She asked with a bit of hesitance in her voice. Turning his slanted glaze towards Jessica, he let out a soft `u'h' sound before returning his glair to where ever he was looking before hand. After a few seconds, he replied.
“I don't know.” He stated as he paused for a second before tapping his fingertips on the faded-brown wood of the table.
“Well then, may I ask,” she began after a moment of silence. “Why did you agree with me?”
The man then stopped all motion as he turned to give her his full attention. As he placed his feet on the ground from the lounged position it was sprawled out on the bench, he leaned on the table with his arms.
“Little girl, don't you get that you're my slave?” He asked as his blue eyes bored into her hazel ones. Rolling her eyes, the girl crossed her arms in front of her with a dull look on her face.
“I'm not a little girl! I'm only about three years younger than you, and I have a name. So why can't you just-,” she began as two of the man's fingers muffled her voice. As her eyes narrowed, he caught her full attention as he mad a point that he wanted to finish what he was going to say.
“You are my property now. I can make you do things whenever, and whatever I want you do to. That being said, I also have to take responsibility of all of your actions as my own. You now represent me, and I will not allow you to ruin my image. Sasori-san is my partner, but also my rival in a way. I cannot let you drag me behind. You got that, Omae?”
As the girl slowly nodded her head, he released his grip. Jessica, who was now rubbing them, looked down as if trying to see them with her own two eyes to see if it was anything more than red. Sighing, the blond returned to his former position as he rested his eyes. She had never thought that she had anything to do with his reputation, though she didn't really care much whether it did or not. All she was concerned about was what was happening to her, and how she needed to get home again. She knew she was being selfish, but she couldn't help preventing the inconsiderate flaw that sin had placed upon the human race from falling on her.
“You know, I feel like blowing something up today.” Deidara murmured to himself. Staring at him with a bizarre expression, Jessica couldn't help but question the desire he had shared with everyone within earshot.
“What on earth are you talking about?” She asked in a hoarse whisper. “You can't actually want to just randomly blow things up can you?”
Turning his head to look at her, he lowered his eyebrows. “Of course I can! It's my work of art; comes and goes all in but a short moment. That is what true art is!” He replied.
“Really,” his slave said in a rather sarcastic tone. “I always thought that art was all drawings and paintings people make, or maybe even different sculptures, but I've never thought of bombs as `art'. They just things evil people use to take away loved ones.”
“You're just like Sasori-san, what's up with you people? The reason why they are so beautiful is because they last for such a small amount of time so they make you appreciate them more!” He replied with a snarl. Jessica then stood to her feet and was about to make a come back when the mention of bombs had sprung up unwanted memories from her past. It was then though, that she remembered that she must have self control over her mouth and body. Balling her hands into fists, she stubbornly sat down again as the frown slowly left her face.
“Oh Lord, how I wish things were less complicated in life.” She muttered under her breathe as she let out a sigh.
“U'h, you've got that right, but there's nothing you can say that will make it less complicated. Just calm down would you?” He commented as he stood to his feet. “C'mon, let's go.”
As she rose from her chair, she slowly followed the man who led her in front of all the stalls that lined up along the street where people sold their merchandise. Looking at each on as she passed, she saw food, clothing, knickknacks, weapons, and many other things being displayed neatly near the front of the small carts. If she had come there by different circumstances, perhaps she'd even enjoy herself here, but she couldn't see that happening now. For Pete's sake, she wasn't even allowed to go into the hot springs the inn provided let alone everything else there was around there.
With the sounds of voices and the mechanical noises of gambling machines and cash registers, she looked ahead at the blond she was slowly getting separated from in the crowed. Her mind told her to just let him go on without her, but to look at all the strange faces of other men who had shot glances at her once or twice she then changed her mind very quickly.
“Eh, Deidara-sama, wait up!” She shouted as she pushed throughout the crowd of people. To her relief, he paused till she had caught up with him before he continued to walk.
“Keep up would you? U'h, really,” he said as he looked down at the young woman. Returning his gaze, she mumbled an apology before looking ahead of them again. Giving a light sigh, he twirled the hair at the top of her head as he said, “You know, you really aren't half as bad as I thought you'd be… But do keep in mind that it doesn't mean you're easy to handle.”
A small smile then appeared on the girls face as she fixed her hair. “Well of course not! Nothing worth something comes easily!”
