Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ World Collision ❯ Reinforcements ( Chapter 23 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Okay, here's the chapter I worked like two and a half hours on… Man, since I need to include stuff from the manga, I need to find the right pages to get the original dialogue from and it is so aggravating! Anyhow, I hope you enjoy.

Jessica slowly sat up as she rubbed her eyes. She must have fallen asleep soon after her master and his partners started to do whatever they had been doing to the red-haired young man. Looking up, she saw that they were still at it. She had hoped that she'd be able to pass more time while she was a sleep, but everything looked the same as it had before. There was a possibility in her mind that it had been longer than she thought it had been, but things like that usually don't happen when you're trying to make it go faster. Straightening her damp clothes, she slowly stood to her feet. It was then that her stomach growled loudly at her before she quickly sat down again. “I'm starving,” she muttered to herself as she put a hand on her stomach. As her body trembled slightly from the lack of energy she needed, she sighed. She had the thought of asking Deidara if he had any food she could take, but she had a feeling she'd just get yelled at or called a weakling. All of the people who were doing this `jutsu' thing must not have eaten anything either that whole time. Yet she was only an average girl; could they really expect so much endurance from her untrained body, a body that use to get a breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, and another snack every single day?
“An enemy from Kohona is approaching our hideout. He appears to be very skilled… His name is Maito Gai.” Stated one of the men as Jessica was about to give in and ask for food. She then decided to stay silent, and to listen to whatever was going to be said.
“…Who's that,” asked the leader.
“He's a jounin from Kohona that uses taijutsu. He's quite talented, so take care not to underestimate him.” Another replied from across the room. The man from beside him then added in to the conversation.
“…Ah… That bizarre beast, eh,” he said in a gruff voice.
“I'll use that jutsu…” The leader said after thinking for a moment.
“Let me go instead… I've had a hard time finding my Jinchuuriki… And I've been starting to get irritated.” A different man who hadn't spoken yet said.
“No,” said the man who spoke with the gruff-like voice. “I have a personal vendetta against that man...”
“Indeed, after all, that jutsu is suitable for you, as you have a large amount of chakra even for us `Akatsuki'…Kisame,” the leader said agreeing with the man. “However, I'll still need to have thirty percent of your chakra.”
“Tch… Oh well… finally. It looks like I'll be able to pay him back for that kick that he gave me.”
The room grew silent again besides the sound of the strong energy that formed around the boy. Jessica tried looking to see if the man had left, since what he said made it sound as if he'd leave. Strangely enough though, she couldn't see a difference… Though the fact that everyone else besides Deidara-sama and Sasori-san were holograms could make it hold more sense in one's mind. After another five minutes, the statue's eyes slowly opened. As ugly as the sight was, Jessica was curious about it, for only two out of the nine eyes had irises in them. Was this significant in anyway? As confused with everything that had happened lately she doubted that she'd understand it even if someone explained it to her now.
“There's another… Shinobi of the Leaf,” the lookout of the group stated.
“Well… Who's next?” The leader asked the group of what she believed to be all men.
“…I'll go,” one of the men who had spoken before said.
Jessica then sat quietly as she waited to hear more conversation between them. To her, it seemed as if they were being searched for. Her best bet was that they were most likely trying to rescue the boy they had now. She sight lightly as she looked away from the light that messed with her sight whenever she stopped looking at it. How long was she to endure this? She felt more like a prisoner than a slave now, though the rights of each were about the same. “Lord, please get me out of this… I really want to go home to everybody who actually cares about me. The only one here that I truly know is You, but I feel as if you aren't listening to me… I know you are, and I know you're doing something for me constantly, but it's rather hard to believe with things like this happening around me. Please help me to thrive with this life here with You by my side… I'm near the edge of insanity.”
Looking back up at the boy who could barely be seen amongst the bright blue light, she wondered what he'd gone through up till now. He must have been at least a little afraid when he was attacked, wouldn't anybody? Then being taken from home and having this done to you? She couldn't tell if he was ever truly conscience during this whole thing he was in, but it was clear that he was in pain.
“Deidara-sama, how could you get yourself involved with this sort of stuff?” She muttered under her breath. “I thought better of you than that... Though you were the type of man who'd actually buy a person and to command their very will, I never thought you were the type to go as far as this; the point of torturing a person… And though you can't hear me since I'm too afraid to speak up about it with all of these other people around, I wish you'd get my point… I wish that you could hear my voice anyhow, and stop this madness…” Looking up at the man, she wondered why he would do this. How did he get between all of this? Surely he could have made a fine man if he lived a normal life. It wasn't as if he had tried and failed at it, for she well remembered that he was only nineteen years old.
“Hnm, The jutsu has been released…” The leader stated to the group. “But… we've been able to buy a considerable amount of time. Then that is enough. Well done, Itachi, Kisame.”
Another man who Jessica recognized as Sasori grumbled a comment. “You say that so simply. For the sacrifice of your jutsu, the two bodies given up were both my subordinates.” The leader then sneered a bit to his remark before biting back at him in a calm fashion.
“With my `imitation shape shifting technique', they became Akatsuki members, even for just a little while. I'd think they'd be thanking us, but…” The man then paused for a second as he stared down at the boy. Snickering, he continued. “Almost there, isn't it? … Zetsu, dispose of the two used for the shouten jutsu.”
“Understood,” the man replied.
“Itachi… Who many are there and who are they?” He asked now turning to the other man who had fought the reinforcements for the boy.
“From Kohona,” he answered, “Hatake Kakashi, Haruno Sakura, and the Kyuubi's Jinchuuriki, Uzumaki Naruto. Also, with an adviser from the sand, Chiyo, they make up a four-person party.”
“Isn't that old hag your grandmother Sasori-san, mm?” She heard Deidara ask as Sasori became very still after hearing the names being listed. The man only grunted as the room became silent again.
“Sasori-san's grandmother?” Jessica thought with wide eyes. “She's from that village? Doesn't that mean that…? Sasori-san came from there as well? Will things continue to get stranger in my life now?”
