Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ World Collision ❯ Zetsu and Tobi ( Chapter 29 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Yes, now it's time for some fun! Okay, now that we're pretty much done with the storyline of Naruto Deidara is in for now, we'll have some interesting chapters that don't apply with the anime/manga for a while! (Though of course, after the time when Deidara is permanently `removed' from the actual Naruto series, we'll officially only have things that are not along the actual story's lines.) I'll see if I can watch some of the anime with fillers that have Tobi and Deidara in them, but I cannot guarantee that I'll know some of the scenes that the anime has them in… Though I should be able to find some good ones to add Jessica into!

“What happened?” Jessica woke with a pounding headache as she slowly sat up. Glancing around, she found herself on the edge of a forest. “Oh ya, I went back towards the cave… And Sasori-san was fighting…” She thought to herself as she used the rock behind her to help get her onto her feet. Rubbing her eyes, she then turned to look to her left as she yawned a bit. She then tried scanning over the area the best she could, since it was now pretty dark out. She could though, make out most of the things in the cave. She saw that the whole cave ground was covered in different puppets, weapons, but no one thing was missing. Where were Sasori-san and the two women? Quickly without thinking, she started making her way down the jagged edge of the cave wall. Using the large chunks of the cave ceiling as stairs, she slowly jumped or slid from each on until she was on relatively leveled ground.
“Who's that Zetsu-san?” A light-toned, playful voice from below shouted. Jessica then froze, afraid to turn to see who was there. Sucking up all desires to try to break loose from this, she slowly turned to look at the two who were a short distance from her. The first one to really catch her eye was a tall man with short green hair, whose right side of the body was pure white and the left side pitch black. What was even stranger about this guy was that on either side of him was a plant like thing that made him look like a human Venus-fly trap. She then figured that he must have been the `Zetsu' the Akatsuki leader had been using as a spy, since he wore the same boot-like sandals and black cloak with red clouds that Deidara-sama and Sasori-san wore. Near him, a bit farther away from Jessica than Zetsu, was a man who wore an orange mask which hid his identity. He though, did not wear the full-body cloak. Instead, he had dark colored long-sleeved shirt, pants, and gloves, though he did wear the same white and black `sandal-boots'.
After staring at her for a moment, the plant-like guy then went back to what he was originally going to do. “She's Deidara-san's subordinate.” He stated as he searched threw the puppets for something. Jessica then stood stalk still as she glanced back and forth between the two of them, whom only one still had his eyes on her.
“Does she know where Deidara-san is then?” He asked looking back at his companion. “Oh, I got it! I got it Zetsu-san!” He shouted, quickly changing the topic as he jolted to another area near him where he crouched low to the ground. The other man then glanced over at him after staring at something that lay on the ground for a few moments. “With this I can become a member of Akatsuki too, right?” He said after sitting down. “There is an opening now…”
“Idiot… It's not that simple…” Zetsu replied “We can let him in… Tobi is a good kid.” Another, darker voice said. Jessica, who had been paying close attention to all they were doing, then looked around to see if there had been anyone else who had been there, but couldn't find anyone.
“Excuse me; you're in this `Akatsuki' thing Deidara-sama is in then, right?” She said hesitantly with her head hung down a bit. The two then placed their attention back on her as she spoke.
“Hey, you're Deidara-san's subordinate! So… do you know where Deidara-san is?” The one in the orange mask asked as he flicked something into the air. Sticking his hand out to catch whatever he threw, he then froze for a second as he obviously didn't catch it when a clanking sound could be heard. Getting down on all fours, he reached his arm between a crack in the rubble as he tried fishing the thing out.
“No, not really,” she replied with a sound of nervousness in her voice. “Where's Sasori-san?”
“Dead,” Zetsu replied simply as he started to walk away. Stopping for a second, he glanced back at the other man before going again. “Let's go.”
“Wait a minute Zetsu-san! I'm sure it fell in here,” he said urgently as he struggled to retrieve whatever he dropped.
“Are you going to find Deidara-sama?” Jessica blurted out quickly, fearing that she'd not get either of their attention before they left. The plant-like man then stopped for a moment. “I don't know where he is, and I don't know how to find him…” She said trailing off.
“Zetsu-san, let's bring her with us, hnm? It will be fun! Maybe I'll get more credit if I retrieve Deidara-san's subordinate! He won't want to go searching for her now would he?” He yelled almost childishly.
“Whatever,” the he replied as he continued to walk.
Giving a sound of victory, the orange-masked man then stood up as he held something between his fingers. Turning to the girl, he then quickly jumped over to her in a skipping-like fashion. “I'm Tobi,” he stated as he pointed to himself with his thumb. “Who are you?”
“I'm Jessica,” she replied after taking a small step back with her hands close to her chest.
“Jessica-chan, we're going to go look for Deidara-san now,” he said in a voice that gave the impression to her that he was smiling. Now seeing his mask up front, she found that it almost reminded her of a basket ball, or more likely a lollipop! With only one, round eye hole that let uncovered his right eye; he seemed something between mysterious and simple. Or perhaps it was stupid… She couldn't decide really how she was to determine his character. Images then flashed threw her mind of all of the drawings her friend had made of a character like him, only in a version she called `chibi'. Jessica then sighed when she remembered how the character was described as `stupid', `funny', and `retarded' by all of the people she knew who read the Naruto comic books. The thought made her give a dry chuckle, since she went farther to think about how her friends would do anything to get into the situation she was in now. Looking back up at the man who cocked his head to the side in confusion, he then patted her on the head. “You're a strange one aren't you?” He said in a light, almost mocking voice.
“What,” she said with a confused, freakish expression on her face that was almost a frown.
“Wait Zetsu-san!” He shouted again as he grabbed the girl's arm and started to run in panic towards the cave entrance. Stumbling as she tried moving her legs so she wouldn't drag along the ground, Jessica let out a short cry to let the man leading her know that she had been unprepared for the fast-paced movement. “Hurry Jessica-chan or we'll be exhausted before we catch up with him!”
“I'm just exhausted by seeing you moving so much!” She replied as she tried to prevent her skirt from flying everywhere. “Beside's that, he's just walking; we're not that behind!” Glancing back at the cave they were now leaving, she tried to give Sasori one last look before she left but failed to find him before her arm was given another hard jerk to make her go faster. “Okay, I'm going, I'm going!” She shouted as she thanked God once again that she didn't put her wooden sandals back on again. She had a feeling now that things would be pretty interesting while she was with these two, though she still had the urgency to get connected with Deidara again.
