Dark Force: Eva

Epilogue

A New Outlook on Life.

Asuka bolted upright screaming at her lungs full capacity, causing Misato to immediately jump from her bed, and bolt to her room. "Asuka! Are you ok!?" Asuka looked over to her, her eyes wide with disbelief "Misato!? Your alive?!" The Major snickered "Well, the last time I checked I was." Asuka jumped to her window, and thrust the curtains back, looking over a seemingly glowing Tokyo-3. The sun was out, and shining brightly, with few clouds in the sky. "Asuka? Are you alright? Did you have a bad dream?" Asuka looked over the city, deep in thought. 'A dream...it was all a dream. But...it felt so real.' "Uh, yeah, it was just a dream. Has Shinji made breakfast yet?" The Major looked at her funny, "What?! Do I have something on my face!?" "No 'Stupid-Shinji?' this morning?" Asuka thought on that for a moment, "Everyone deserves a break every once in a while." With that, she walked out past the very stunned Misato. 'What on earth..'

In the shower, Asuka was one again, in heavy thought. 'That dream..it felt so real..but..was it really a dream? Or was all of it true? Bah, it couldn't of really meant anything. But I cant help but wonder,' she began to unconsciously smile ' if Shinji really does like me. I wonder what he'd say.' She giggled out loud this time 'He'd probably choke on his tongue before he could spit the words out.' But then her smile faded 'But then again, the way I act doesn't exactly spread the air of friendliness.' She shrugged physically. 'Maybe if I act nicer towards him? Could work, but then again,' she started to frown, 'those stupid stooges will start getting ideas about us.' She looked up at the showerhead, 'But then again, isn't that the idea? To act nicer to him, to make myself more approachable? Hmm..alright then, if I take this route of action, and Shinji does come up to me, what would I say??' She grinned to herself, as she began to shampoo her hair. 'I can't accept right off the bat, that would make me seem desperate. But I can't decline either, that would make this entire ordeal worthless.' she rinsed her hair off, and turned off the shower. She looked at herself in the mirror, while toweling off. "Then again..what would happen, if I asked him?" She smiled at herself 'That would be much better. It'd be less of a problem, and it would take less time. But is Shinji really ready for a girlfriend?' She blushed slightly as she began to entertain the idea 'And am I ready for a boyfriend? Shinji no less?'

She peeked outside the door, and walked back to her room. 'Now that I think of it, he's not that much of a pervert. Hell, he probably doesn't have the guts to be a peeping tom. So it's not like he's going to be begging for sex on a daily basis.' The very idea of what she just mentally spoke caused her face to turn a deep crimson. 'Gah! What am I thinking about?! Now who's the pervert?' She looked over a picture she had of Kaji and her. She was wearing her yellow sundress, and Kaji was in his regular attire. 'Kaji, whatever did happen to you?' She absentmindedly traced her finger over the picture. 'A crush. A childish crush. That's all it was.' She sighed softly 'But I never could have contended with Misato. Her breasts are bigger than mine, and she's a lot prettier than I am...' She sighed once again, before donning her school uniform, and headed towards her door "I never thought I'd be so happy to go to school. I hope I never have that dream again." She opened it to find Shinji standing there about to knock. "Uh, sorry Asuka. I just wanted to let you know that breakfast was ready." He bowed his head softly, before Asuka caught his arm. He flinched, and held the position for a moment, before he turned back, and stared into Asuka's eyes "Asuka?" "Hey Shinji?" "Y-yes?" She gave him a warm smile, before letting him go "Guten Morgen." then walked past a now stunned, and slightly blushing Shinji.

She grinned to herself, the reaction of the young boy was what she had expected, but none the less, it was still funny. After breakfast, the to began their march to school, Asuka smiling all the way. "Asuka? Are you alright?" Asuka looked at him, "Huh? Yeah, I'm fine. Why do you ask?" "W-well, because you haven't c-called me any names today.." He had to fight the urge to throw his hands up to brace for impact. "I don't have to call you names EVERY day now do I?" She grinned "Or do you like it when I call you names." Shinji blushed slightly "No, no! It's just that, well, you call me names every day...so..I figured that something might be wrong." Asuka looked up while walking. "Nah, I feel perfectly fine. It's just..." She thought for a second, looked over at him, and gave him her best smile. "I just have a new outlook on life, that's all." Shinji could only blush and nod. "What about Eva? And the angels?" Almost biting his tongue for bringing it up. "What about it?" Well that sure as hell wasn't expected. "What about it?! You said it yourself! Eva is your life!" Asuka's smile faded "True, I did say that," but it came right back, "but just recently, I've figured out that there are more things in life than just Eva." Shinji muttered to himself "Like Kaji...?" but then spoke up, "Like what?" Only to get Asuka's smile again "Oh don't worry, you'll see." and then she sprinted off ahead of him, whilst thinking to herself 'Momma, I know your still watching me. You sent me that dream didn't you? To show me there was more in life. Thank you momma."

Shinji stared in disbelief. 'Why do I have the feeling things are about to change.' But for a second, Shinji's mood lightened "It might be a change for the better." He then stretched, and kept walking. 'Now that I think about it, whatever did happen to Kaji."

"Yo. Your late." Kaji waved to the mystery person who had just arrived.

That person simply stared at him for a few minutes, before reaching into her purse, and pulling out the reservation she had made earlier. "This had better be good Kaji. I don't like being called out on my day off." Kaji smiled as they sat, Misato wearing a purple shimmering dress, and him, in his normal attire. "You know, your supposed to make yourself look neat when going to restaurants like these." "Don't worry about that. I've just came up on something. Something big." He reached into his pocket, and pulled out a picture of a large quartz tablet. "Look what they found in the antarctic." Misato looked it over "Woah, pretty. But what is it?" They don't know. All they know is, it was giving off a blue signal, and they sent Rei to go find out what it was. When they got there, it was just this." "And you thought I should be informed of this why?" "Just thought I'd give you he heads up Misato. That, and ever since they brought that thing there, I've felt this weird feeling in the back of my head." Misato looked generally concerned. "Like what?"

"Like someone is watching me. Like it's breathing right down my neck."

The End.
