(I don't own any of the NGE characters but I do kind of own the Michael character since I created him but yeah let's get on with the story.)

 

The New Tomorrow

 

The world seemed to have finally got back on track in the last few weeks. Businesses are flowing with people again and families are in the houses eating and praying each night again. Kids are playing at the beaches or at parks just laughing with friends and family. A child is something precious, never to be taken granted for how far they can go and do things. They can bring happiness in the most wondrous ways by just saying “Mama” or “Daddy.” They can bring smiles to the most grimaced of times, even now children are the most valuable things on the planet right now and that is something worth to protect.

 

Toji Suzuhara woke up one day remembering almost nothing that happened during third impact. He looked around the room in his own house trying to figure out what happened and why it seemed so quiet then he realized something very interesting. He looks down and to see that he has his arm and leg back, not wanting to believe it he just sits and stares at the appendages that were gone but now that are back. He didn't want to make move thinking that he would wake up from the dream he was having. Finally getting tired of lying in one spot he finally moved and both his legs cam up and his eyes flew open and he was speechless and after shaking out of the shock he started to tremble then started to cry at the regain of his mobility.

 

He gets up and starts to walk around and make fists out of his arm not believing they were there still but no doubt though that he was full again. He finally calms down and looks out his window to see it is day time and he smiles at the beautiful yellow ball in the sky that brought warmth to the world. He has his eyes closed and is just basking in the morning light and after many weeks of torture he is finally contempt. He hears his door open and he looks over to see who it is and is greeted with something even more beautiful then the sun.

 

His sister standing at the doorway smiling at him with her hands behind her back and a white dress on. She has the same color hair as him but longer and she has the most precious brown eyes any child could have. She also got injured in the past but is walking now like nothing has happened, he doesn't care, his sister is back and is not suffering. Kiki his little sisters name was always so positive about things and was like this during the angel wars always saying that “everything was going to turn out good at the end and mom was going to protect us.” Back then he wanted to believe her but was really hard to and now that all this has happened he now is glad that she was right.

 

He runs to his sister and picks her up and starts to spin her around while both of them are laughing like no tomorrow. She has her eyes open shining with more happiness then ever like Toji himself. He puts her down and they hug each other not letting go and they both are just absorbing each others love for one another. They both hear a door close and yell from somewhere in the house and they both look at each with big smiles at hearing there fathers voice and so they both run out of his room to join him.

 

That was a few weeks ago, now he is trying to locate his friends to see if they are ok. He is sitting at home now watching the news on all the progress happening on the planet and all the worlds leaders coming together to talk about the future of mankind knowing they have survived a terrible ordeal. Suddenly his phone starts to ring and gets up and runs up to it picks it up.

 

“Hello this is Toji,” he says waiting for the other person to say something but they don't and all he hears is breathing, “Hey I hear you and you better knock off the prank callin.”

 

He starts to take the phone away from his ear when he hears a voice, “Toji?”

 

“Yeah this him and who is this?” He thought it sounded like a girl's voice and the only girl that had his number is Hikari.

 

“Hi Toji this is Hikari.” Toji suddenly froze in his spot. “I am glad you are ok.” She says waiting for a reply on the other line.

 

“You are ok?” He finally manages to get out.

 

“Yes I am and so is my family.” She is smiling now hearing his voice again.

 

“That is good to hear so is mine and even my sister is better again.” They talk for a little while trying catch up on things in the last few weeks.

 

“Hikari, I have my leg and arm back again.” He says in a very happy voice.

 

“Really, how?” She is very shocked at this and can't believe it.

 

“I don't know it just happened, I was waking up in bed and there they were, like they never gone.” She is so excited for him that she squeals on the phone.

 

“I am so happy Toji; I was so scared that you would never be able to do much again.” Toji shakes his head at the phone chuckling some.

 

“Umm Hikari,” he started to loose his wording and started to blush thanking the gods that no one was seeing him right now, “I am glad that you are ok because I don't know what I would of done if something bad happened to you.” Hikari was quiet and was blushing very red that he said that.

 

“I feel the same way Toji.” Toji could only let out a breath of air that he didn't know that he was holding. He was very happy that she didn't hang or start laughing at him.

 

“Have you heard anything on the others yet?” Hikari asked because she hasn't heard anything on anyone.

 

“Actually Kensuke called me a couple of days ago and he is doing great also and we are going to meet up today.” Toji was happy that he was ok to because they knew each other forever.

 

“That is so great I am so happy that he is ok also.” Hikari was in such a good mood now finding out that they were alright especially Toji.

 

“You should come meet with us Hikari because I know that Kensuke would want that and so would I.” He says slapping his head for slipping like that.

 

“Of course I will, where are you guys meeting at?” Hikari asked not really noticing what he said.

 

“We are going to be meeting at the front of the mall where all the bike racks are.” Toji tells her.

 

“Ok, I know where that is and what time you guys meeting?” She looks over to a clock seeing what time it is.

 

“We are meeting around 2:00.” He says noticing he has about three hours to go.

 

“Ok, I will see you there then.” She says wrapping the cord around her finger a little.

 

“Yeah, I will see later Hikari.” He says.

 

“Bye Toji,” and she hangs up the phone and Toji still has it up to his ear trying to figure out his feelings for the class rep.

 

He looks over to the clock again seeing that it is the same time it was, he decides to get something to eat before he leaves to meet the other two.

 

*Katsuragi apartment*

 

“Hey Misato are Michael and Shinji out again?” The red head asks trying to find something to eat.

 

“Yeah, I think they jog and work out every morning now.” She says walking out in her very skimpy close that left nothing left for the imagination. Misato walks over to the fridge and grabs her customary beer and just jugs it down and crushes the can throws it away.

 

“I don't think we need to worry about the angels anymore Misato because the way you drink beer and throw all those cans away the earth will just die on its own.” Asuka says with a smirk and getting a glare from Misato.

 

“I guess I will start recycling then, will that make you happy.” She says in a snobbish way. Asuka just rolls her eyes and continues searching the cabinets for substance. She finally gives up when she can't find anything and walks into the living room and falls on the couch and flicks on the TV to find something to watch to keep her mind off her stomach. After a few minutes of channel surfing and not finding anything she shuts it off and throws the remote on the ground and leans her head on the back of the couch in boredom.

 

“God I am bored.” Misato is in the kitchen still but is reading reports on the repair work on nerv. Asuka just closes her eyes and tries to relax some but opens them back up when she hears the door open and two guys talking walk in.

 

“So it finally collapsed but the bad thing it fell on me,” Michael was telling Shinji a story and it made him start laughing, “That isn't funny man it hurt a lot actually.” Michael joined him in laughing but he calmed down when he saw Asuka staring at the both of them.

 

“Hi Asuka, how are you doing?” Michael walks into the living room and looks at the German girl sitting on the couch looking at him.

 

“I am bored and hungry so I am just doing great.” She says in a grumpy voice.

 

“Shinji you can shower first man I will prepare lunch.” Shinji shakes his head and walks into his room but knocks first and when he gets the ok he enters it. Hearing that food is going to be made makes Asuka jump out of the couch and into the kitchen with Michael. He walks over to a drawer and pulls out a cooking book he found a few days ago when he was out with Shinji looking around the city. He looks at the recipes trying to find something he could cook up with the limited amount of supplies he had. During all this Misato was had a disturbed look on her face while reading one of the reports she had and Asuka notice it.

 

“What's wrong Misato,” Misato looks up to see Asuka looking at her with confusion in her eyes.

 

“I can't really explain but this report is saying that a couple of days ago they found eva unit 03 in the mountains after they got long range sensors back up.” Asuka eyes get huge and she couldn't even breathe at the news she just heard. She started to breathe again when Michael shook her out of her slight coma.

 

“Wasn't that the eva that got destroyed because it was infected by an angel?” Michael asked looking at the two girls that held disturbing faces.

 

“Yeah it is but it says here that Ritsuko ran every kind of test and they came back negative meaning there is no signs of the angel within it,” she was so confused by all this that she wanted to go in and see what is going on with everything.

 

“Unit 01 tore it to shreds there is no way it can be back.” Asuka said looking at her guardian wanting her to give her more answers.

 

“I don't know what to say Asuka, it is all so confusing to me also but I tend to get some questions answered when I go in later on,” she gets up and walks out of the kitchen and to her room. Michael is back preparing the food and when he notices Asuka looks stressed out some.

 

“What's up Asuka, you don't look so good?” Michael is concerned for her.

 

“That eva tore through all of us like we weren't even there and suddenly it appears,” She is really disturbed about it, “Shinji almost lost his best friend because of that.” Michael remembers reading on the reports on what happened when Shinji found out; he almost tore all of nerv to pieces.

 

“It will be alright besides Misato said they couldn't detect any angel presence in it so that is always a good thing,” He tries to cheer her up some and it seems to work a little.

 

“This should cheer you up some,” He hands her a bowl of some vegetable soup and a roll. She grabs her spoon and scoops some on to it and puts it in her mouth to test it out and the result is good.

 

“It is good thanks,” She says starting to devour it like it she hasn't eaten in a week.

 

“Don't mention it,” Michael laughs a little at Asuka's display of eating. “Sounds like Shinji is out of the shower so I am going to go and take one for myself.” He walks out of the kitchen and into the living room to grab a pair of clothes and walks to the bathroom.

 

Shinji and Rei walk into the kitchen talking about something when they notice that there is food, they both grab a bowl and help themselves. They both sit at the table and start to eat in a some what comfortable silence. Asuka thinking about the eva again and just couldn't believe it was back. In a rare show of emotion, Asuka looks up at the two pilots and sighs.

 

“Hey you guys…” She says quietly making both Rei and Shinji to look at her. She was staring down at her bowl making Shinji worried about her.

 

“What's wrong Asuka?” He asks in concern. She was never like this especially in front of them.

 

“I found out some news from Misato that eva unit 03 was found fully restored in the mountain area just laying there,” She heard a silverware fall to the ground and looked to see Shinji as pale as Rei and she seemed to be disturbed about the news also. Shinji was not feeling so good suddenly and felt like loosing his lunch all over the table.

 

“H-How can this be unit 01 destroyed it.” Shinji was finally able to speak and ask Asuka the question but all he got was a shake from her head. All the memories from that day started to flood back into his head. He starts to shake some and gets up and staggers out of the room and into his. Rei concerned about him gets up but before she leaves she looks over to Asuka.

 

“Thank you for telling us,” and all she got was another shake from her head. Rei walks into the room to fine Shinji sitting on the bed holding his head in his hands. She walks over and sits next to him and stares at the ground waiting for something to happen. She listens to him breathe in and out taking long breaths to keep him calm and in control of his emotions. She lifts up a one of her hands and places it on his shoulder making him jump in surprise.

 

“Rei, sorry you scared me, I didn't hear you come in,” He looks up at her and can tell that she is concerned for him. He looks into her beautiful red eyes and for a little bit forgets everything that he just heard and continues to stare in her eyes.

 

“I was concerned for you and I wanted to make sure that you are alright,” She is also looking into his eyes not looking away.

 

“I'm ok Rei I just need to think about everything that has happened.” He says to her breaking the eye contact with and looks to the ground instead. She looks away for a second then looks back at him and moves closer so that they are touching and she lies her head on to his shoulder making him stiffen up. She is looking down at the ground from were her head rested on his shoulder.

 

“Shinji what is going on?” She sounded kind of scared and that made Shinji look down at where she was resting her head but couldn't see her face. Shinji finally relaxed and decided that it was time to show a little back bone and be there for Rei so he slowly wrapped a hand around her waist and pulled her closer to him and she in returned wrapped her arms around him and pulled closer for comfort.

 

“I don't know what is happening Rei but I can assure you that I won't anything happen to you or the others.” He said and none of them moved from there spot. Rei felt comfortable real comfortable right and felt like she could be there forever. Shinji felt the same way and didn't want to let go of her and always hold her and part of him wanted to always protect her from everything that was evil. Rei lifted her head and looked at him and he turned his to look at her and they both had there eyes locked on to one another.

 

“Rei I don't know what it is but I feel something strong for you and I have for a while,” Shinji whispers to her not breaking the eye contact.

 

“I have to felt a familiar feeling for you and wanted to tell you but I wasn't sure that you felt the same way.” She wanted nothing else at the moment but this and she was very happy at the moment. Sure enough the two start to come close together when finally their lips meet and for the first time they share their first kiss together. They feel bliss the whole time and don't want it to end and they keep going and not caring what happens at the moment. Well something does happen at that moment, Misato walks in and is about to say something when she sees the two kissing she pauses and stares at the two for a second before she backs up and quietly closes the door.

 

She stands there for a minute, not moving her hand from the door knob. She is in complete shock at first but then she finally starts to smile, not a smile that she has a teasing material for the rest of her life but a genuine happy smile. She leaves the doorway to give them privacy and walks back to the kitchen where Asuka is still sitting at the table but is reading a magazine and Michael is doing the dishes.

 

“What are you smiling about?” Asuka says as she saw the purple haired buxom come in with a giant smile plastered to her face. Misato looks at her and just smiles some more making Asuka very confused and a little creep out.

 

“I accidentally walked in on Shinji and Rei kissing,” Misato said sitting down with that same smile on her face. Asuka on the other hand has huge wide eyes staring right at her guardian not believing what she just heard.

 

“You got to be kidding me right, baka and wondergirl kissing!” Asuka couldn't believe it first the news about the eva and now this she wonders what could be next.

 

“I have to admit I didn't see that coming either,” Michael says drying his hands off with a towel, “I mean I knew they liked each other but wow.” Michael had a surprised look on his face also and sat down next to Asuka. They all sat there in silence thinking on what they just found out and didn't know what to say. They all looked up to Shinji and Rei who walked into the kitchen and they didn't stop looking at the couple the whole time and it started to scare Shinji a little bit.

 

“Is there a problem guys?” Shinji asked wanting to know why they were looking at him like that.

 

“No, no, there is no problem Shinji I mean I could something great has happened,” Misato looks at him smiling evilly making Shinji quiver.

 

`O god does she know?” Shinji thought to himself.

 

“So how was the kiss Rei?” Michael asks smirking also.

 

Rei turns a little red on the cheeks but replies, “it was very pleasant.” Shinji now was redder then Asuka's hair if that was even possible but he sure was making it possible.

 

“Aww that is so cute I guessing that you two are a couple?” Misato asks already knowing the answer but wanted to hear it from there own mouths.

 

“Yes we are and thank you for your advice Misato.” Rei says smiling at the major and she returning one to her. Shinji was quiet the whole time trying to get rid of the giant blush that was still plastered to his face.

 

“Well hopefully we don't find out that we are going to have to buy diapers,” Asuka say making Shinji start sweating and stuttering. Rei was confused by this and didn't get what she meant by that.

 

“What do you mean by that?” Rei asked looking at Asuka confused.

 

“I mean hopefully you don't get pregnant wondergirl,” Asuka shakes her head a little at the girl having the lack of knowledge on that stuff.

 

“We are not in the sex part of the relationship yet.” Shinji almost passed out at that. Michael chocked on his water he was drinking and Misato was laughing her butt off. Asuka couldn't help but laugh at that. There was a knock on the door and Shinji decided it was a good time to escape. He walks up to the door and opens it and is suddenly to stun to move from his spot. Standing at the other side of the door was three faces that he long to see and wanted so much to hear from. His best friends standing at the door holding and one of them are holding a penguin.

 

“Y-Y-You guys are ok.” Shinji finally manages to get out.

 

“Of course we are what you expect.” Toji says looking at his friend with a smile.

 

“We missed you guys so much and were finally able to come and see you guys again,” Hikari says holding Pen Pen to her chest.

 

“That is right my friend and you really think that I would miss seeing your face.” Kensuke says to him smiling also. Shinji couldn't hold it any longer and lets the tears start rolling down his cheeks. He lunged at them laughing really loud hugging them all and they to were laughing real loud.

 

“What the heck is all the commotion Shinji,” Misato walks out with Asuka and the others behind her. Misato stops right in her tracks when she sees something very precious to her.

 

“Pen Pen,” Misato calls to him and he looks at her.

 

“WARK!” The warm water penguin says and jumps out of Hikari's arms into Misato's who picks him up and hugs him while crying tears of joy at the reunion of her beloved pet. Asuka and Hikari screamed when they saw each other and flew into a hug missing each other. They all walked in and sat in the living room talking about everything that happened after they left Tokyo 3.

 

“Hey Shin-man look at this,” Toji stands up and shows him his leg and arm and that they are his real ones and not prosthetics.

 

“Your arm and leg are back but how?” Shinji was very shocked at that and was confused.

 

“Don't know, woke up one day and there they were.” He says shrugging his shoulders.

 

“It was after third impact occurred.” He said but noticed that Shinji suddenly got real quiet and so did Asuka.

 

“What happened during third impact guys?” Hikari asked worried for her two friends.

 

“Well the UN attacked us they sent the MP Eva's at us and I was the only one that was able to fight them at the time,” Asuka shivered at the memory and Michael was watching her the whole time incase she was about to cry he would be there for her.

 

“After I thought I had beat them and I didn't have much power left they regenerated themselves and well and they killed me.” She let out a shaky breath and Misato was rubbing her back for her to calm her. The other three looked at her in shock and horror. Hikari walked over to her and started to cry for her and was hugging her. Asuka was holding Hikari while she cried and tried her best not to cry herself.

 

“H-How did you get back then?” Kensuke asked very shaken up at the fact that Asuka was killed and was alive right now. Asuka looks over to Shinji who is facing away from everyone had his eyes closed.

 

“I brought the whole world back,” he says quietly. Hikari finally calmed down and now was looking at Shinji.

 

“I became god for a minute.” The three gasped at that, there eyes wide in shock.

 

“I was the only that could make a decision after everyone got absorbed and I could hear everyone's thoughts throughout the whole world.” He started to shake a little bit.

 

“I felt so much pain and anguish it was so much that I didn't know if I could handle it,” he starts tear up some and it falls down his face. Rei gets up and walks over to him and wraps him in a hug and looks in his eyes.

 

“Shinji…” she whispers his name making the others go wide eyed at the affection she is showing him. Shinji opens his eyes to see Rei concerned for him and he smiles at her and wraps his arms around her waist and pulls her in closer so she could lay her head down on his chest.

 

“Then I realized that I could make a decision to what I wanted to do and I decided I wanted to come back, I wanted everyone to come back.” He looks over to them and smiles at them and everyone smiles back at him. He didn't care that he was hugging Rei in front of everyone and he didn't care if they made fun of him because he was happy and that is all that mattered to him. Rei looks up at him and has a smile on her face and he smiles and they lean and give each other a small kiss. Toji, Kensuke, and Hikari's jaws hit the ground pretty much and are shocked beyond belief. Toji shakes his head and runs over to Shinji and puts him in a headlock making break his embrace with Rei.

 

“We need to talk now!” Toji says as he drags Shinji by the head to his room with Kensuke behind him. Everyone but Rei is laughing at the display.

 

“Well I better go follow them incase he accidentally breaks his neck,” Michael say walking to Shinji's room. Hikari is confused on who that was.

 

“Who was he?” She asks.

 

“His name is Michael and he is a long story,” Misato tells her looking at the young brunette, “he will tell you everything he returns from protecting Shinji.” Hikari nods her head and the girls start talking about everything that has happened in the last month. In the room Toji still had Shinji in a head lock and was asking him all kinds of questions him and Rei.

 

“When in the hell did this happen man?” Toji asked finally letting go and giving him to time to breathe before answering.

 

“It just did today actually before you came over,” Shinji trying to them but the stares he was getting from his two best friends were kind of intimidating him.

 

“When did Rei start showing any kind of emotion is what I want to know,” Kensuke looks over to his friend and waits for the answer.

 

“Everything that has happened occurred after third impact.” Getting what he was saying Kensuke stopped it at that.

 

“Shin-man have you been watching the news?” Toji asked him and Shinji looked over to him shaking his head.

 

“The world is coming back together and everyone is finally going back to there lives before anything has happened but they want to know who saved them,” Toji looks at his friend who has a downcast look.

 

“I don't really want them knowing I did it because there will be so much problems and I don't want to face them.” Toji shook his head and Kensuke also understood what he was talking about. The media could be a very horrible thing at times.

 

“I know what you Shinji, I myself have to hide my powers from everyone and if they were to find out it would be disastrous,” Michael says getting strange stares from the other two.

 

“I'm sorry I haven't introduced you guys yet, Toji and Kensuke this is Michael, Michael these are my two best friends.” He shakes both of there hands.

 

“What do you mean by powers?” Kensuke asked giving Michael a strange look.

 

“Well like the rest of you I myself is not human.” Toji and Kensuke stare at him for a minute then start busting out laughing.

 

“Good one man you had me there for a second,” Toji was put his hand on Michaels shoulder. Michael looks over to Shinji who has a smile on his face but is shaking his head. Michael shakes his head not wanting to show them but he is going to have to now. He grabs Toji by his shirt and lifts him up over his head.

 

“H-Hey put me down!” He yells at Michael who starts to balance him with one finger.

 

“Tell me please could ever do that without strings attached,” Kensuke looked at it in amazement as he held Toji up with one finger. Toji is looking down at him after realizing that he was only being held up with a finger. He couldn't believe this could be possible but it is because he was the test dummy for it. Michael carefully puts him back on the ground and getting stares from Toji and Kensuke he looks at them weird.

 

“I know you guys never seen anything like it before and that you are shocked could you stop staring at me like that.” Toji and Kensuke shake off there shock and start asking millions of question what is he and how did he get the powers and stuff to that nature. Shinji could only laugh at Michael's predicament as he tried to answer all the questions that the two were asking him.

 

Kensuke takes out a voice recorder that he had in his pocket, “may 13, 2015, have found alien subject and is questioning it now to find out if he wants to take over our land or just wants to learn about our culture, will continue interrogating subject until he breaks,” Kensuke clicks it off and puts it away and looks at others who are staring at him, “what?”

 

They start to laugh really hard at what Kensuke just did and the spectacle boy just looks at them like they lost there minds but they are thinking the same thing about him. After they were done laughing they were telling stories on the things that have happened in the past month with each other. Michael was also telling them stories about his people and what his planet looked like before the war reached it. Kensuke was so excited about hearing about another person's planet that he was listening with unconditional attention.

 

“Hey Shinji do you think Asuka and Misato remember if I fly or not,” Shinji just shrugs his arms, “I have an idea.” As Michael tells them what he has cooked up the girls are still chatting away and even Rei has gotten into a few discussions they were having on boys and that shocked the others at first but realized out of all of them she was the only one with a boyfriend and that still had a funny ring to it.

 

“I can't wait until the mall opens back up so I can go shopping again for some new clothes.” Asuka says getting up to get some more water from the kitchen.

 

“Me either, these clothes are just getting to old,” Misato says looking down at her attire of really short jean shorts and very tight t-shirt. Asuka returns and sits back in her original spot.

 

“Maybe you will find something that actually covers you up,” Misato just sticks her tongue out at her.

 

“What about you Rei? You going to get some clothes,” Hikari asks looking over to Rei who is wearing the school uniform like she use to before third impact.

 

“I don't know much about fashion and what to pick out.” Rei says.

 

“How about we all go and have a shopping trip and help Rei with the fashion since of the world.” Even though Asuka didn't like Rei she couldn't deny the fact that going on a shopping trip and helping her pick out clothes would be fun.

 

“I would enjoy that Misato thank you,” Rei bows to her and Misato just waves it away. They all turn there attention to the voices that are coming from the other part of the apartment. The guys walk out and are laughing at a joke Michael told and even Shinji was laughing hard.

 

`It is so good to see him laughing like a normal teenager,' Misato thinks to herself watching the young man laugh and joke around with his friends.

 

“What are you stooges laughing at,” Asuka glares at them and Toji glares back at her.

 

“We started laughing when we walked in and saw your face,” Toji grins at her and she gets pissed off at that runs at him but Michael blocks her path.

 

“Get out of my way Michael; I am going to kill him.” Asuka is trying to get around but Michael just grabs her by the shoulders and she looks up at him and he is smiling down at her.

 

“Let's not have any killing today ok? It is a day for reunions,” Asuka calms down looks over to stooge number one.

 

“It is your lucky day but be warned I will get my revenge.” Toji just rolls his eyes at her but then he thinks of something.

 

“Kensuke would you please hand me my knighting staff,” Kensuke is very confused but decides to play along and finds something that he could use as a staff. He finally comes across a spatula, he picks it up and walks back and hands it to Toji, “Michael could you please kneel before me.” At this time everyone is confused even Michael but as Kensuke did he plays along and kneels down in front of him.

 

“I Toji stooge number one here by knight the Michael stooge number four and for he to be always a stooge in life.” Kensuke and Misato just started bustin out laughin. Michael gets up and starts to play with and acts like he is wiping away tears.

 

“This has to be my happiest day of my life,” He starts to pretend to cry into his arm.

 

“Great another one, just what I needed.” Asuka says out loud.

 

“Oh come on Asuka it isn't that bad you knew this day would come.” Michael looks over to her and smiles at her but all she does is shakes her head. They all walk into the kitchen and Shinji goes and reheats in the soup for everyone. The girls sit at the table and Michael and the other two stooges walk out to the balcony leaving the door open so they can also talk to the girls. Michael is actually standing on the rail to the balcony while talking to the guys and Hikari notices that and taps Asuka on the shoulder to show her.

 

“Why is he standing on the rail like that is he crazy?” Hikari asks Asuka with wide eyes. Asuka looks over to Michael seeing that he is indeed standing on the rail and is just walking on it like it is the easiest thing in the world.

 

“Don't worry about him he won't fall.” Asuka says but it still doesn't make her feel better about the situation.

 

“Aw, Hikari don't worry about Michael here he is like floating on air.” Toji says slapping Michael's leg but by doing that he looses his balance and all the girls' eyes shoot up wide.

 

“O GOD!” Michael screams as he falls over the edge.

 

“Michael!” Toji yells trying to grab him but it's too late. Misato and the others run out but they don't want to look down to see what has happened.

 

“I-I didn't mean to I swear.” Toji is shivering. Asuka is starting to breath hard not believing this has happened. Misato is slowly walking over to the edge to look down but really doesn't want to. She gets over to the rail and is about to look when an arm grabs hers and pulls her over the railing. Asuka and Hikari scream even Rei lets out a little scream all of them scared to death but then they stop to listen to laughing. Michael's head pops over the balcony and then he starts to float even further showing that he has Misato in his arms clinging to him like there was no tomorrow.

 

All the boys were laughing and were holding there stomachs from not be able to breathe. Misato finally opens her eyes to see that she is in the air and that Michael is holding her and he is floating in the air. Then she remembered that he told her that he could fly but she never really believed it until Ritsuko told him.

 

“You guys seemed a little scared,” Michael says looking at the girls shocked expressions and is smirking at them.

 

“T-That wasn't funny Michael I thought that you really got hurt.” Misato was breathing hard trying to make sure she doesn't have a heart attack.

 

“Come on girls it was on in fun and games,” Kensuke says looking at them. He looks to Asuka to see that she is starting to get very red in the face from anger but Hikari was a look of shock.

 

“H-H-How can he be flying,” Hikari started to take a step back when Shinji stepped behind her making sure she doesn't run.

 

“Hikari please don't be afraid of Michael he isn't from around here and if you come in we will explain,” He takes her hand and leads her into the apartment to talk. Asuka is looking at the guys, who pulled the awful joke on them, she is very mad at them.

 

“That wasn't funny at all guys especially for Hikari.” She turns around and leaves shutting the door with a bang.

 

“I guess I went to far with that one guys,” Michael looks like he found his dog got ran over, “sorry Misato I didn't mean to make everyone scared like that.”

 

“Its ok kiddo just don't ever pull something like that again.” She says looking at his sad face.

 

“Guys I am going to take Misato somewhere to talk could you tell the others for me please.” Michael say looking at the other two boys.

 

“Sure thing man,” Michael says his thanks and starts to fly off with Misato holding on tight. Toji walks in to see Shinji telling Hikari about Michael and what he is.

 

“Sorry for scaring you girls like that, we didn't know it would have that much affect.” Kensuke is the one apologizing on behalf of the stooge clan. Rei walks to Shinji and looks him directly in the eyes and he starts to fidget some.

 

“You also were part of that,” Shinji could only nod and look away, “why would you do something like that?” She asks making him look at her.

 

“I don't know, we thought it would be funny, it was Michaels plan though and well he told us about it and we all agreed to do it.” Rei turns around and wraps her arms around her.

 

“Do you know how much that scared us you idiots?” Asuka asks looking at them, “We nearly all had heart attacks.” Toji also had his head down in shame.

 

“Were sorry ok, we did something stupid I mean it is not like we do smart things every day you know.” Toji says looking at the ground but taking quick glances and Hikari who was staring at him.

 

“He is right guys I mean we don't do smart things everyday but we do learn from them.” Kensuke says looking at the girls a smile.

 

“My biggest mistake was saying yes to pilot that damn eva,” at the mention of that Shinji and Asuka took a sharp breath and holding it. They remembered about the news they found this morning and it was now Toji's turn to find out because he is still active nerv and that is his eva.

 

“S-Speaking of t-that Toji we got some b-bad news,” Shinji was trying his best not to stutter, “We found out this morning that eva unit 03 was found fully restored in the mountains.” Shinji said looking over to his friend to see his eyes grow wide. He starts to slowly back away not believing the news, his back runs into a wall and he slowly slides down it.

 

“I-It can't be that thing should be gone,” He was shaking his head not wanting hear what he was just told. “It was destroyed by unit 01 it can't be back.” Shinji was looking away from him with his eyes closed and Rei was behind him hugging him from behind. Kensuke looked at him sympathetically not wanting his friend to go through this and be miserable about it. Hikari looked into his eyes seeing the fear the showed in them. She got up and walked over to him then sat down next to him to pull him into a hug.

 

“Everything will be ok Toji,” she is rubbing his back a little and he is shaking his head a little on her shoulder.

 

“There is no way I am going back to pilot that monster.” He says with anger in his voice.

 

“You don't have to Toji, no one will force you,” Shinji says having Rei let go so he could walk over to his friend and put his hand on his shoulder. Toji looked up at his friend to smile at him. Hikari lets go of him and he stands up to stretch some he looks down at Hikari and smiles down at her and she returns it. He puts his hand out for her to grab so she does and he lifts her up and looks at everyone and smiles at them.

 

“All these emotions are making me hungry so let's eat guys.” Everyone including Asuka and Rei started to laugh at that and they all got up to go to the kitchen to eat. Meanwhile Michael and Misato were at a forest area in the outskirts of Tokyo 3. They were on a hill looking out to the land and the water that was running through it and all the wildlife that inhabited it.

 

“Misato is all this worth fighting for?” He points to the land and everything. Misato looks at him confused.

 

`What do you mean by that?” She asks.

 

“Is this world worth fighting for I mean,” he looks over to her and waits for her to reply.

 

“Michael, Shinji didn't bring us all back here if he didn't think it was worth fighting for,” she looks into his eyes trying to see what he is feeling, “yes it is worth fighting for and I will do just that to make sure we all have a chance at living in peace.” Michael shakes his head.

 

“I thought the same thing also back on my planet but at then end I realized I made a mistake.” He says looking into the horizon. She walks up to him and joins him the sight seeing.

 

“What happened back then Michael?” Misato looks over to him and sees that his eyes are closed.

 

“I thought living in peace back on my planet was worth fighting for but when the war got to close to home my mother took me away so I wouldn't have to grow up in that kind of atmosphere,” he stops think a little bit for what he is going to say next. “A few years had past before my people finally reached our new home and when they did show up it was a blood bath.” Misato listened on about how his people spared no one and killed everything and anyone.

 

“I was young still when it all happened and I awoke under a collapsed house,” He looks at Misato, “I was the only one left alive when the soldiers left.” Misato was shaken by this.

 

“Michael your mother was also murdered,” she looked at him and he bowed his head and had a small smile on his lips.

 

“My mother died protecting her son and she told me never to get down about it.” He looks up at her and smiles.

 

“I loved my mother Misato don't get me wrong but I am not mad she was killed because she died in honor and protecting the people she loved.” Misato smiles at him and rubs his back some.

 

“I know that this was sudden but I was thinking about it for the past week when all this stuff occurred.” Michaels says looking back into the horizon.

 

“Everyday there is a new tomorrow and it will bring new things and new possibilities,” he looks over to her seeing that she slightly confused, “I just want you to know that I will protect this planet because it is now my home but I do wish that I could find out how I got here.” He looks up to the cloudless sky noticing that the sun is slowly disappearing in the sky.

 

“Michael there is things that you can do that just blows my mind but knowing about your kind heart and soul I don't have to worry about my kids.” She smiles at him and he smiles back.

 

“Your kids huh, I don't remember them saying anything about that.” Michael say to her.

 

“I consider them my kids,” She says softly and she looks down to him and he is looking up to her, “you are still a kid also.” Michael just shrugs.

 

“Sorry that I can't be old like you.” He smirks at her getting a glare back.

 

“Watch it bud, you might be inhumanly strong but I still can surprise you,” she says waving her fist in front of his face.

 

“I give I'm sorry,” he says holding his hands out in defense.

 

“We better get going so the others don't start wondering where we went.” She says and Michael agreeing he picks her up but this time making sure she is ready and takes off into the sky.

 

Back at the apartment everyone was talking about random things like shopping or video games or even movies. There was laughter and there was shouting between Toji and Asuka and to them it was just ordinary day to them and that is all that mattered to them. They ate the soup that Michael had fixed up early in the day and now it was all empty thanks to Toji. Suddenly the topic of school came up and Hikari suddenly remembered something.

 

“I forgot to you all this but school is going to start back up in a few weeks so prepare yourselves.” Everyone but Rei groaned.

 

“Not school I mean come on we just get done with all this suddenly they want to throw us back into robots classroom,” Asuka was talking about the teacher because all he ever did was talk about second impact, the wrong version of it though.

 

“I don't want to go back there I hate going to school,” Toji groans out.

 

“Well isn't that to bad for you guys because you are.” Everyone looks to see Misato coming out from the balcony with Michael behind her. Toji just lowers his head and shakes it.

 

“I don't need to go to school I already have a college degree.” Asuka says proudly to everyone and getting a death glare from Toji and Kensuke.

 

“Sorry Asuka, that also means you, and meaning I would like a date when this is please Miss Horaki.” Hikari looks up to her and nods and give her the date so Misato can put it in her reports for nerv. Asuka growled saying a few german curse words under her breath.

 

“I don't see what the fuss is guys, I know you all hate school but you do need it,” Michael says to them but suddenly feeling very vulnerable right with them looking at them like that, “is it something I said?”

 

“Yeah guys Michael will also be attending so I don't see why you guys are so down.” Michael is about to say something he realizes what she just said.

 

“What! I don't need to go to school.” He looks at her and she has an eyebrow raised. The others chuckle at this.

 

“I don't see what the fuss is man, I know you hate school but you do need it.” Toji says getting up and putting his hand on his shoulder. Everyone laughs at the way Michael is looking at Toji.

 

“Well I could learn more about your culture I guess but I don't need any help in math or the science parts.” Asuka is interested about this.

 

“Why don't you need any help in those fields?” Asuka asks.

 

“Well if I am correct and what I have read so far about your world's education system I would have taken Calculus and Chemistry my first grade year.” Everyone's jaws hit the floor. Those two subjects alone are very difficult and those are usually twelfth grade courses in high school.

 

“As I said I don't need to take math and science classes here I already know pretty much everything there is to know about those two subjects,” Michael looks at the other with there mouths wide open and he just shakes his head.

 

“You would probably give Ritsuko a run for her money then,” Misato says looking at the boy.

 

“I don't think so on that one because Dr. Akagi is a genius when it comes these skills because I have know idea how the Evangelion works while she does and knows how to fix them.” Misato shakes her head understanding what he means.

 

“Ok you guys it is getting late so I will take you home.” Misato says grabbing her car keys and jacket. Everyone says there goodbyes and the trio leave with Misato.

 

“Well I guess we better enjoy the next few weeks while we can before school starts,” he sits down at the table with the others.

 

“Yeah I know I am before we have to go back and Michael you still owe me a shopping trip,” Michael looks at her and smiles nodding his head.

 

“Shinji are you going to take me shopping also?” Rei asks making Shinji start stuttering something. “If you don't want to I will understand I will just have to go alone.” Shinji stops stuttering and looks at her.

 

“Of course I will take you Rei just tell me when we can go and buy whatever you want.” He says getting up and walking over to her and hugging her from behind and they both share a kiss before he walks out of the kitchen and into the bathroom to get ready for bed.

 

“I guess we all could go together,” Michael says also standing up and leaving the two girls left in the kitchen. Asuka looks over to Rei who looks right back and notices that she has a small smirk on her lips.

 

“You didn't do what I think you just did?” Asuka asks her suspiciously.

 

“Misato said that a woman can control any guy in a relationship that you only had to use your female persuasion.” Asuka looked at her in shock started to laugh really loud at what just happened. She couldn't believe wondergirl tricked Shinji into going shopping with her and he is going to be buying all the clothes.

 

“You know wondergirl I think we are going to start getting along just fine.” Asuka says smiling and Rei also smiling at her.
