The bar. The one he had seen that vision of beauty at. Cain couldn't help but return there once night had fallen. But his silver haired detective wasn't there. Not that that surprised him. Especially since he turned out to not be a kept boy like he had assumed. Though Cain thought that maybe he'd make that change, and become Shido's keeper.
He'd asked around, with that thought in mind. He'd tried to get anything he could about the boy. Anything would do. He was hoping for a location. A place where Shido lived. But at the same time, he was trying to judge how sought after his vision of beauty was. He found that he'd been right. Shido was still very much single, and it seemed also very sought after. Rumor was that there was an officer who was quite taken with him. And who wouldn't be. Who couldn't help but love those full pouty lips or those wide innocent blue-green eyes. Or, Cain added ruefully, that tender pale neck.
He still couldn't count out the chance of his Shido showing up in that smoky bar again. He knew sooner or later, the young man would have to show his lovely face there. He was sure Shido was still intent on doing his job. All the blond had to do was wait. But Cain not a patient man. He wanted to see Shido again, and the sooner the better. Which meant wondering the local pubs.
Hobnobbing with humans wasn't usually his thing. Actually, he found most humans utterly detestable. But if it helped him find his silver haired vision, Cain would readily rub elbows with the lowliest of beings. “I'll find you, my Shido. I'll find you and make you mine.”
Cain smiled brilliantly and threw back a drink before he swept out into the night. It was a promising night. Dark enough and foggy enough that he could hunt uninterrupted. He found himself wishing there were more nights like this in Transylvania. And if he found his Shido, the night would prove to be a most pleasant one indeed. But it seemed that no matter how hard he hunted, his man didn't show up.
