No matter how hard he hunted, his man didn't show up. Shido had wondered from pub to pub. In each one, he'd sit for a while, watching the patrons. Hours passed in which he sat with his drink and studied the crowd. The face he was looking for didn't present itself. Then, sure the man wouldn't be in that particular tavern, he'd move on. On to another bar, and another beer.
Shido knew he'd have to quit soon. He could feel an alcohol induced headache coming on by the slight pressure at his temples. Soon, he knew he wouldn't be able to think straight. And in the morning, he'd probably have to deal with a large hangover. He found himself staggering out of the bar. It was most definitely time to call it a night.
Home seemed so very far away. It seemed even farther than before, now that Shido was tipsy. He weaved his way down the foggy streets, hoping that he wouldn't run into a psycho killer. He was in no shape to attempt to run away from one of those. And he found himself wondering if he should have listened to his mother and dragged along that officer. Luckily though, there was only one other person on the street. Long wavy blond hair standing out, golden in the fog.
Cain had just finished feeding when he'd spotted a familiar shade of silver. He thought he was seeing things. He'd never expected to find Shido so quickly. To find the detective on the first night of hunting for him was a miracle. Actually, Cain didn't believe in miracles, but he wasn't going to ignore such a gift.
He watched the youth from a far. Eyes glowing strangely golden in the dark. He could see the tell tale lurch of too much alcohol. “Shido…” He muttered quietly, smiling. The bleary, drunk look was incredibly cute. Cain found himself wondering how much his poor little detective had consumed. However much it was, it was more than sufficient. Cain knew if he caught up to Shido, he could do just about anything to the boy. And the silver haired beauty would be too drunk to remember anything.
As much as he knew he would enjoy taking advantage of this situation and the youth, Cain restrained himself. He was far too civilized to club Shido over the head and drag him into bed. It'd be much more enjoyable when he got Shido to beg to be taken.
Quietly, he followed the smaller youth. If Shido knew he was being followed, the boy gave no indication. Shido just trod on unaware of his amorous stalker. Unaware that he was leading his stalker straight to his home.
Cain couldn't help but be surprised. His Shido lived in the lap of luxury. Of course, the large English house was nothing compared to his home in Transylvania. Still, the home was nothing to make fun of. It made him wonder why the youth was a detective. Not that he was really going to question the boy's motives. Because the youth's job had brought him to Cain's attention.
He watched the boy fumble for a key. The door was unlocked, and his angel disappeared inside. He heard the lock click back into place. Yet Cain stood glued to the spot. He had that predatory in his golden eyes. “I know where you live now, my Shido.”
That knowledge gave him a slight thrill. He could follow Shido now, no matter where the beauty went. And he was already formulating a plan to get himself invited inside. For now though, he would content himself to watching the house, and hoping for even the most fleeting glance of the youth that resided there. “I will have you yet, my lovely detective.”
