Birds of a Feather Stick Together

The end of another year draws to a close

And we hope to hang on to the new things we know

I'm sure you'll agree that after summer we find

That the things we knew had fallen behind

Another summer vacation comes round the bend

As another school year comes to an end

Day after day of hot, sunny weather

Most of you people like it- well, birds of a feather…

We worry about our friends and where they will go

For some of them we'll never know

Moving away or to a different class

And the days you had fun together fall into the past

Of course, it doesn't always have to be like that

We can stick together

Birds of a feather

While it's true that some friends aren't meant to last

Don't mope and fly your flag half mast

School starts again in the usual way-

Who are your teachers, which subject, which days?

We get into routines and let last year fade away

Here's me letting you know that that's OK

Birds of a feather, as the saying goes,

Stick together (through whatever woes)

The end of a school year comes to an end

With summer just around the bend

But school must start again once more

And at first, it'll be quite a bore

But remember your friends from last year

And you should do fine while you are still here.
