Darkness and Blood

Who would remember me, what could it possibly be

That makes a heart run cold at memories of you

When did the happiness recede, why couldn't we see

It was all the darkness and blood

I could see with every sip of wine from that chalice

That every inch of me is overflowing with malice

And at every turn to escape I find demons block the way

The only thing I have to say is “Please kill me”

So pull up a chair and join me in death

I can now see why with my very last breath

Halls covered in darkness and blood

So where do you go when there's nowhere left to run?

For hiding places and safe spaces, there are none

Fear overtakes this world while its veil of dread unfurls

Like death upon her house as she prepares to debauch and carouse

I am the effigy of your wishes and dreams

A demon god who commands the livid mob

A wolf in sheep's hide, I am your dreams

Evanescent, my humanity sheds away

No longer am I a torrid fay

Do you still love me as much as you did yesterday?

Am I still worthy of your embrace?

Though I am covered in darkness and blood

Will you remember me the way I used to be?

A human born with a heart that breaks

Though I may deceive you with every turn I weave for you

Now there's only one thing I have left for you

And that, my love, is the virulent truth

A wolf in sheep's bloody hide, I've no mercy to spare

But I love only you---do you even fucking care?!

You'd die for her but she's already dead!

Yet not a tear for me would you even shed

So I'll wait here to be found, I'll wait forever in this town

I'll wait for you to find me
