[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

In the shadows, in the night
Lies our death, a tender delight
And in your terrified cries of despair
You find none to share the weight of the cross that you bear

I walk though the gardens of forlorn hearts ablaze
Those souls who hearken to the voice fall dead
Your effort to feel content is vain
And in your tomb I smell the pheromone scent of dread

Within churches the black crypt hides sinner's hearts--- dead
And in thine Heaven lies the tomb of infernal dread
And we call it love
It's all this emptiness and shards of existence
And we called it love
It's the cage that holds our hearts

Before the sun sets fire to the night
I've never understood what it's like
To be loved
To be hated

And when the day is gone and dead
I never know what it's like to dread
The pain
Of every single droplet of rain

I see through the forest my way, my path, to home
And in the canopy of branches, I see corpses strewn
Hanging from the boughs of the trees with no leaves
Their hearts and their souls are buried beneath my feet

And their ghosts, they whisper sweet nothings to me
They tell me it's all just a dream, a little reverie
Before I too fall asleep and never see the sun again
I'll hang from the trees, my heart buried six feet deep
And I'll fall asleep in this comforting rain
