Original Poetry Fan Fiction ❯ Poems ❯ If Only Love was real ( Chapter 4 )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Chasing meaningless dreams, so far away,
Happy smiles on my face, remembering everything you say.
But that, too, was only a dream,
It felt more than what it seemed.
Fantasy took in the moment I saw you,
Your eyes were so bright, so bright of blue.
The smile on your face just brightened my day,
But now that seems so faraway.
Realizing that all i've tried to do is worthless,
Knowing I would never capture your heart, so I could finally confess.
Reality had to come back to me,
I must give you up, I must set you free.
I want you free from my mind,
Free from my eyes that are now blind.
Free from my heart,
Before you tear it apart.
Listening to the advice from someone very wise,
She told me without you, I could reach the skies.
Taking her advice, and moving on,
It kills me inside to say 'so long.'
Even though you probably never knew,
How much I truly loved you.
Saying goodbye is the hardest thing to do,
When my heart is already broken, something that can't undo.
So these silent nightly tears will soon dry,
You'll stay in my dreams, while we fly in the sky.
If only love was real,
Because then we can finally touch and feel.
