I Can't Describe

The feelings I haven't felt for some time

The way I relate life with you on my mind

I just can't do it—I can't relate

To describe what I feel but I will try

Wait…

I've got it!

It's like you're my completion

My new birth is with you!

My new reason!

Or maybe you're the match to my half-fulfillment

To find you, to have you…that's why my life was given

And have you here to build me up

Uplift the life I've lived and…

You and your beautiful heart caress me

You, your soul, and your eyes

My goodness, undress me

Not in the obvious way to relate

You shed me of my fears

Make my life a clean slate

Take away my insecurity

You're so open

So pure to me

And to you I implore, please

Contain me, envelope me and fill me with pride

Of the feelings—the joy—that I just can't describe

The best I can do is to say “You're great!”

Which doesn't nearly describe how much I appreciate

Or how I value your gifts

Your time, your friendship

I just can't describe you

And, man, that's a trip!
