Ryan took off his coat and draped it over the chair. Undoing the first few buttons of his shirt, he took another sip of his drink, enjoying the taste. It had been awhile since he'd had alcohol and he was thoroughly enjoying it even if he was already getting a little light headed. "So, other then beating up guys and studying for tests what do you guys do for fun?"
"I use to have a lot going on. I was the top of my class and student body president as well as president of the science club, chest club, french club, and latin club," Danny said.
"Now she doesn't know what to do with all the extra time. I use to do sports. I played a little of everything to keep my anger issues in check."
"Well if you guys have so much free time why don't you do that stuff again? The school has plenty of clubs and sports teams."
Danny shifted. Gabby patted her hand. "Family issues."
"Oh? Right...." He finished his drink and toyed with his empty glass. "Eh, clubs are overrated. There's so much other stuff that you could be doing. Going to malls, clubbing, and doing naughty things with boys and girls."
"We don't know much about Britain..."
"But we won't be clubbing or fucking."
He laughed at that. "That's a shame. We have some of the best clubs over here. Not mention some of the best lovers. If you want I can show you around town since it’s the weekend."
"No."
"I would like that."
"Danny."
"Gabby..."
Gabby groaned.
He smirked. "It's settled. Tomorrow wear something cute but something that you can move in. Preferably a mini skirt with cute underwear."
"Danny, I have to go to the probation officer tomorrow...we can't go," Gabby shook her head.
"Then you go and I'll go with Ryan."
"Hell no!"
"I'm going, Gabby. I really want to go so I'm going," Danny said.
"I'll hire a body guard."
"Oh, stop it. It's not going to be that bad," Danny laughed.
"So it will just be me and you?" Ryan smiled at that. "This will be fun. I'll show you a whole new side of this wonderful city."
"Take the mace," Gabby said. Danny nodded. The next morning, Danny wore a small shirt and a tank top with her hair up like the day before. Gabby crossed her arms in annoyance. "I have to go on the other side of town...so I'll be staying in a hotel. Are you sure you don't want to come with me? You'll be in the house all alone."
"I'll be fine. It's just for one night."
Ryan nodded as he walked in on them. His eyes widened with delight as he saw Danny. "Beautiful as always," he said, taking her hand and kissing it. He looked over at Gabby and sighed. "Oh, you're still here?"
Danny blushed brightly but Gabby growled. "Hands off her! I'm warning you." Danny kissed Gabby's cheek and Gabby returned the kiss. "Just...be careful, ok?"
"I'll call you later when you are at the hotel," Danny said and walked out the front door.
"You know if you two were to be lesbians that would be really hot," he said, taking Danny's hand as he pulled her outside toward a car.
Danny pulled her hand from him. "Gabby tried to be into girls once, but she didn't like it so she went back to guys," she said as she got in the car.
"How does one try to be gay? I mean, does she really hate men that much that she wants to sleep with girls?"
"Men have been very unkind to us," she admitted. "Gabby is the type that if you lose her trust the first time, you aren't getting it back. She spreads her hate around but only as a warning. She just doesn't want to be hurt again."
"I'll try not to lose her trust then. She really doesn't seem like the kind of person that I want to get on her bad side." Turning on the car, he motioned to the radio. "Put it to whatever you like."
She leaned over and started messing with the radio. "So...why are you in boarding school?"
He laughed and shrugged. "Too many reasons to count. Mainly my family thought it was easier to keep me in a school that wouldn't get rid of me."
"I guess that makes sense," she said and sat back after finding a radio station.
"Yep. Though it's not all that bad. The school's pretty fun and I don't have to deal with all the social events." He looked over at her. "But you seem like the family kind of person. You miss your family don't you?"
"Gabby and I only really need each other. Our parents weren't really in the picture much, but we use to have a lot of friends. They were more like a family."
"Why'd you leave your friends? You haven't been to your house here in quite a while. There must have been some place closer you guys could have gone."
"There was...but I had little choice...my father said this was for the best. Gabby wasn't suppose to come with me, but she threatened to burn her school down if he didn't let her. She's...really good to me," she said as she looked out the window.
"Whatever her flaws may be, I can tell that your sister loves you more than anything else. She's like a tiger with her cub." He shuddered at the thought of that. "A very violent, very busty tiger."
She smiled. "It wasn't always like that. She was born really sick. I donated bone marrow to her when we was ten. I think that's why we feel so connected to each other. Really...we wouldn't survive without each other."
"Bone marrow transplants are suppose to be excruciating. Is that why you're sick so much? From the transplant?"
She shifted. "No...not exactly...but it did take me a very long time to recover from it since I was so little."
He nodded. "I couldn't imagine that level of pain. Generally I shy away from things that cause pain."
"She's my sister. I'd die for her and wouldn't even think about it. I know she would do the same."
"That is an amazing level of love," he smiled. "I couldn't honestly name a single person that I would die for."
"Yeah, it's nice to know that no matter what I do, Gabby will always be next to me to help me out."
"That must be nice," he said softly. The car ride fell into silence until he got to town. Parking by a coffee shop, he got out opened the door for her. "So what would you like me to show you first?"
She smiled. "Well, whatever is good. I haven't been here in such a long time."
"Okay. Let's start with some mocha and books," he said, nodding to the coffee shop they were in front of.
"Make mine caramel and we have a deal."
He smirked and nodded. "Let me hold your hand and we have a deal."
"No," she said softly.
He shrugged. "Can't blame a guy for trying. Okay so caramel it is." She followed after him into the coffee shop. After ordering their drinks, he led her to the book store section of it. "What kind of books do you like?"
"All kinds. Mostly mysteries. I like trying to figure it out before the end of the book."
He smirked at that and pulled a blue book off the shelf. "The last time I read a mystery it was the Hardy Boys," he said as he handed her his favorite book.
She looked at the book and smiled. "I've read this three times."
"Really? Who's your favorite author?"
"I don't really have one. I've read so many," she said as she put the book back.
"I see," he smirked. Poking her forehead playfully he took a sip of his drink. "You're such an egg head, but that's kind of cute."
She rubbed her forehead lightly as she blushed. "Um...thank you...I think...."
"You're welcome. Now, I'm thinking some clothes shopping are in order. Have you gotten a swim suit yet for gym?"
She paled. "I...won't be doing gym..."
"But it's required..."
"I know...my dad is trying to get me out of it. It's one of the reasons the school has a new hall..."
"Good luck with that. The school is pretty strict about that." He noticed how uncomfortable she was. "Why try getting out of gym? Wait...let me guess...family issues?"
She pushed her bangs from her eyes and played with the straw in her drink. "Something like that," she said softly.
He nudged her playfully. "Oh well, guess that means I won't get to peek at you while you're in the showers."
"I'm not sure you will care to look at me in the showers," she mumbled to herself. She pulled a few books off the shelf and took them to the front. Pulling out her card, she paid for them and took her bag.
Once they were outside, he turned her around and cupped her chin with his hand. "And just why do you think I wouldn't want to see you naked?" She blushed brightly, dropping both her books and drink. He reached down catching her drink in one hand and his foot stopped her books from hitting the ground. He smirked, his face just inches from her face. "You haven't answered my question," he whispered.
She stepped back from him nervously. "There...is a lot you don't know." She took her drink and books. "Thank you."
His eyes narrowed as he leaned in close to her. "Be honest with me. Are you really a guy?"
"What? No," she said honestly.
He looked at her up and down. "Prove it."
"Gabby says not to fall for your traps...she says that I should be cautious." She hugged her books to her. "I'm not one of those girls you sleep with, Ryan. I'm not going to be used then forgotten. If you don't want to be my friend because you won't see anything then I'm ok with that."
His hand reached up and he poked her head again. "You worry too much. Just because you won't show me the goods doesn't mean that I'm going to ditch you on a street corner. It just means that I've got to get more creative with my flirting."
She sighed. "I'm never going to show you anything. You would have better chances talking to a stranger."
"Maybe, but no stranger is going to be nearly as beautiful as you are."
She blushed. "Saying things like that will get you nowhere."
"No, but I do get the satisfaction of seeing you blush."
She looked away. Maybe going with her sister was the better idea.
Danny spent the rest of the day with him seeing the sights. Of course he tried to spend the night with her, but after politely turning him down, she shut the door and went to bed. The next week was like any other normal week. Eventually Gabby let Ryan sit with them at lunch without threatening his life. After their third week there, the twins were faced with a problem. Danny had to do swim class for gym.
Danny looked at herself in the mirror after school. "Tomorrow...I have to wear a swimsuit...I'm three months along and about to be in my fourth..."
"Yeah...I've been noticing the difference in you clothes..." Gabby sighed. "You are starting to get a bump."
Danny groaned. "What am I going to do?" she pouted with tears in her eyes.
"Face it. And punch anyone who pisses you off," Gabby shrugged.
Ryan nodded to the maid. "The girls in their room?"
The maid nodded nervously. How did he get in?!Gabby pulled Danny's shirt down. "Stop staring at it. You can't will it away."
He knocked on the door. "Yoo-hoo ladies! I'm here!"
"He has to stop showing up at our house. It's creepy," Gabby said as she walked to the door. Danny straightened herself as she opened the door.
He nodded when the door opened and handed them a box. "Heard about your plight and that you have to take swim class. Took the liberty of getting you a one piece from school."
Danny took the box. "Oh, thanks," she said.
He smiled and nodded. "You’re welcome. Hopefully you'll be able to get out of it, though I still wouldn't mind seeing you in it."
She frowned. Tomorrow the whole school would know her secret. How long would Ryan stick around after her knew. She threw the box on the bed and Gabby patted her shoulder. "We could always skip."
"No...I can do it."
Ryan sighed and plopped down on the bed. "So...seeing as how you're going to be wearing a swimsuit tomorrow and that's a bad thing, do I get a heads up as to what's going on?"
The twins exchanged glances as if secretly talking in their heads. "Well...you will find out tomorrow," Danny said. She wasn't ready to spook him just yet.
"Could I at least get some kind of warning? And I swear if you turn out to be a guy this relationship is over!"
"What relationship? The one where you eat our food, stare at our bodies, and annoy the piss out of me? I can deal with that. Tell him you're a boy, Danny. I'll sleep easier," Gabby said as she flipped through a magazine.
"I'm not a boy," she sighed. "And trust me...you don't want a warning. Just go home and we'll see you tomorrow ok."
He shrugged it off. "Okay then. See you two tomorrow." He nodded to them, wondering what kind of surprises he'd have in store for him.
At school Danny was a wreck. By the time gym came around she was in near tears. Gabby and her dressed in the far back and Danny snuggled herself into a towel, covering her arms, chest, stomach, and torso. They walked out to the pool and she hid behind Gabby.
Ryan floated in the pool. It wasn't until he heard whispers and shouts that he looked up at the twins. He smiled as he slipped beneath the water and swam over to them. "Come in. The water's fine."
Danny's eyes watered and Gabby sighed. "It's ok, Danny...you can do this. I'm with you all the way."
"Do I have to get in the water? Can I just stretch and stuff?"
"You can, but you have to get in the water sometime during this class."
"We already stretched. Just get it over with, like ripping a band aid off," Gabby said as her hands went to Danny's towel. "Ready?"
"No," she whispered. "Everyone is going to stare..."
"I know," Gabby said softly. "I'm sorry." Slowly she began taking Danny's towel off.
A couple of the girl's gasped and began whispering as her towel was removed. Ryan looked up at her, noticing the bump on her stomach. He frowned. "Is that...what I think it is?"
Danny started back to the locker room but Gabby grabbed her hand. "Don't run from them. Don't let them walk on you. You are stronger, better than that. Face it. I know you can."
"I'm not you, Gabby," she said with tears in her eyes. "I can't do this. I should have gone to that reform school."
"Don't talk like that. Don't let them define you," Gabby said as she pulled her to the water. "Come on, I'm with you. I won't let go of your hand."
Ryan moved over to where they were getting in. "You're...you're pregnant?" He said in disbelief.
Gabby wiped Danny's eyes as they got in the water. "Shut up, man whore, or I'll shut you up."
"Relax. I'm not making fun of her. I'm just...in shock," he admitted.
Danny laid her head on Gabby's shoulder and Gabby held her into her chest. "It...was an accident and not her fault."
Ryan didn't see how it couldn't be her fault. She had to spread her legs for someone. "It's...none of my business. You don't have to explain it to me."
"You're right. It is none of your business," Gabby said coldly.
