"Oh! Sorry!" Wide eyes stared at Gabby as she bumped into him. "Well, hello there," he smiled.
She looked him over. "You are so gay," she smirked and moved passed him.
His jaw dropped and he quickly moved past her. "Whatever you say...uh...bitch," he muttered.
"I was an intern for a fashion designer. I know gay when I see it. Let me guess, you haven't come out yet," she smirked. "I'll keep your secret if you do me one small favor."
Jessy stiffened. "I don't know what you're talking about," he said softly. Looking around he bit his lip and hesitantly asked. "But...what was it that you wanted me to do?"
She pointed to Danny. "See that sweet girl? She's my sister. Kiss her and your secret is safe. But you have to do it in front of that guy next to her."
He frowned. "I know him. I don't feel like getting beat up today."
"He won't beat you up. I'll be right behind you. By the way, I'm Gabby. And I plan on telling them I allowed you to kiss her. So it's all good. She just needs a small of boost self confidence and he needs a way of getting out of being with her."
He sighed and shrugged. "The name's Jessy." Looking over at the two of them, he swallowed hard. Walking over to them, he ran his hand along Danny's cheek before pulling her into a quick kiss. He held her against him for a moment before pulling away.
Ryan's jaw dropped as he saw this.
Danny locked on Jessy's eyes in shock. "Wow..." she whispered. She saw her sister walked up to them.
"Danny, met Jessy. Your new best friend."
"What did I just miss?" Ryan asked completely and utterly dumbfounded.
Jessy let Danny go and quickly stepped away from her as he fidgeted uncomfortably. "Well uh...now that I've done what I uh...wanted to do I'll be gone."
Gabby grabbed his shoulder. "Not so fast," she said. "New. Best. Friend. Danny needs one and you just volunteered. Can you fight?"
"Gabby..." Danny said with a flushed face as her fingers went to her lips.
"Hush, Danny. Now, can you fight or not?"
"No," he said quickly. "I really need to get to class to finish my report and I have a g-girl waiting for me so just let me go..."
"Yeah we both know you don't. So looks like you are going to take Danny out. Tonight. Seven o'clock. Don't be late or I'll kick your ass," she said with narrow eyes. Taking Danny's hand they hurried to class.
"Gabby, I don't think I should go on a date with him," Danny said softly.
"Oh don't worry. He's gay. But you need to get out and people seeing you with a guy on a date could be good for you. So just have fun alright?"
Ryan glared at him. He pointed to the spot in front of him while cracking his knuckles. "You. Here. Now."
Jessy squeaked and closed his eyes.
That night Gabby dressed Danny in the nicest dress she had. She decorated her hair and did her makeup. "Perfect. He should be here any minute."
"I don't know about this...I mean...I really like-"
"Forget about him. He's a player and a ladies man. You know that."
"But," she said with hopeful eyes, "people can change can't they?"
"No."
Jessy knocked on the door with a sigh. He checked his watch, unable to believe that he'd actually come.
"It's about time," Gabby said as she opened the door. She pushed Danny out and she landed in Jessy's arms. "No later than ten." She slammed the door.
"Um...sorry about her. If you can just take me to the park you can drop me off there. I'll just take a walk around it then take a cab home and tell her it was a great date," Danny said with a smile.
Jessy gave her a small smile. "I'm not going to drop you off at the park by yourself. Isn't there somewhere else I can take you that I wouldn't feel like such a jerk about? I mean, I've got this other date with this girl that I had to push back because...well...your sister is scary."
"How about you just take me to the coffee shop? I'll read a book there and you can pick me up after your date and take me home for appearances. Trust me, it's not that big of a deal. I don't want to do this anymore than you do," she said as she started taking the jewels out of her hair.
He nodded at that. "The coffee shop sounds good." He started driving there, watching as she worked the jewels out of her hair. "She really got you dressed up for this. If I didn't have enough problem with girlfriends you'd definitely be someone that I'd pine for." At the very least he could try to make her feel better.
"You don't have to pretend for me. I know your gay. But I don't plan on telling anyone. I'm a lot nicer than my sister." She smiled at him. "It's really sweet that you would pretend that though. I mean, I'm sure you heard at school that I'm pregnant. Oh, there's the coffee shop. Just pull over."
He winced as she said that. "I'm not gay," he snapped as he pulled into the parking lot. "I have a lot of people that will testify to that. So...don't even think it." He couldn't believe her sister...she was going to pay for even saying that.
"Ok. If that's what you want me to do." She got out of the car and closed the door, waving to him with a smile. Taking off her heels, she walked into the coffee shop and started taking off her makeup.
He sat in the parking lot for a few minutes, his heart racing as he saw a bunch of school kids going into the book store. A million thoughts and worries ran through his head. What if she said something? What would they think? What would they do?
Getting out of the car, he went into the book store and sat down in front of her. "I...still have a few minutes before I have to meet them," he said, keeping an eye on the kids behind her.
She looked behind her at the kids. "I won't tell," she said softly. She sighed and opened her book. "But suit yourself." Silently, she started reading.
He fidgeted as he watched he read. "So...you like Ryan?"
She flipped a page. "Go on your date. You are wasting time here."
"I do have a few minutes," he admitted. "One of the problems with dating girls is that they take forever to get ready."
She nodded and flipped another page as she wiped the lipstick off her lips.
"So why does your sister hate Ryan exactly?"
"He likes woman. Lots of woman."
He smirked at that and nodded. "He does have a reputation," he admitted softly. "It's no wonder that you fell under his spell though. I mean, he has a habit of knowing just what to say and when to say it, and he's not bad looking either...for a guy."
"It wasn't his tricks I fell for. And I really didn't fall. He's the first guy I've every liked. So I guess it's like a crush. It will go away after a while."
He shook his head at that. "You never quite get over your first crush."
"I'll learn," she said and flipped the page.
"Right." He looked at the book she was reading and then over at the kids. "Come on. Let's go get something to eat," he suggested.
"No thank you," she smiled at him the continued to read.
"You certain? Burger and fries, my treat?"
"I'm ok. Go on your date. I'll be here when you get back."
He sighed. "I don't..really have a date," he admitted. "I was just going to use that as an excuse in case well...things went bad tonight."
She smiled and closed her book. "You can take me home now. I'll tell Gabby I wasn't feeling well. Pregnant excuses get me out of a lot of things."
"You certain? I mean, if you want to sure...but you're actually kind of nice to be around."
"It's alright. I just want to go home."
"Okay." He grabbed his car keys and after helping her inside he climbed into his seat. His cell phone buzzed and he quickly opened it, blushing at its contents he put it away and started the car.
She watched him with a soft smile. She liked him. He was nice. She started out her window as he drove her home. Once they got there, she thanked him and walked to her door. He waited for her to go inside before leaving, wondering how in the world he had gotten tangled up in this mess.
The next day, Danny and Gabby walked to school as normal, hand in hand. Danny glanced at Ryan as they arrived, but said nothing. He was talking to a group of girls. She sighed. That was enough for her. Though it was something special to her, it was just another girl kissing him.
Ryan looked up as the girls passed. He sighed and excused himself, hurrying to catch up. "Hey, how did your date go with what's his face?" He asked, trying not to sound too interested.
Danny opened her mouth but Gabby spoke instead. "None of your business man whore. Go back and play with your kittens."
"Why play with kittens when I have a pussy in front of me," he muttered, rolling his eyes as he looked at Danny. "So...what...happened?"
Gabby kicked him in the shin. "Watch your mouth and none of your fucking business. Stay out of our lives," she snapped and pulled Danny along. Danny looked back at him for a second before looking back ahead with her head down and a soft sigh.
He cursed and held his shin. What had he done wrong? "Hey! Wait up!" He limped as he caught up with them. "What's with the cold shoulder all of a sudden?"
"Gabby's never liked you. What's so cold about that?" Danny asked.
"Yeah, but she's never hit me for no reason either," he countered.
"You call her...a..." she leaned in to whisper it, "a pussy."
He smiled at that. "Why, Danny, I'm surprised you no such a vile word," he teased.
She blushed and covered her mouth. "I didn't....mean to..."
He smiled and caressed her cheek. "It's alright. I was just teasing you,"
Gabby grabbed his wrist and pushed him back. "Keep your hands off her. I mean it."
He sighed. "I was just rubbing her cheek. It's not like I was doing anything bad."
"Danny, go to class."
"But..."
"Go." Danny turned and hurried to class. Gabby pushed Ryan on the ground. "I told you to stop leading her on. For now on, stay the hell away from her. You touch her, look at her, or talk to her and I'll break your neck," she snapped. Turning from him, she ran after Danny.
He smirked. "So melodramatic."
School went as normal. At lunch, the twins took their normal seats and started eating.
Ryan plopped down beside them and tore off half his sandwich and handed it to Danny. "Want some?" Clearly he either didn't get the message or he just didn't care. Judging by the way he looked at Gabby it was the later of the two.
Danny reached out for it like she did everyday, but Gabby grabbed her hand. Danny bit her lip. Something was said in a mixture of languages. Something the twins had done since they were little to create their own language and no one would understand. Danny pouted but Gabby's words got harsher. Suddenly they both stood.
"Goodbye, Ryan..." Danny said softly.
"Go find someone else to fuck with. We are done," Gabby spat coldly. Grabbing Danny's hand she pulled her along while Danny rubbed her stomach.
"Done? What do you mean done?" Ryan stood up and moved in front of them. "I thought we were friends."
"We are-"
"No, Danny. We aren't. Go away. I told you to stay away and I mean it," Gabby growled and moved around him as she pulled Danny.
He sidestepped her and moved back in front of her. "Why not?"
"Danny, go to class."
"But I really-"
"Danny, go," Gabby said fastly. Danny sighed. With her head down she started to class. Gabby glared at Ryan. "Before I let you hang out with us, I thought you were smart enough, no scratch that, I thought you were nice enough to know that fucking with Danny's emotions were a big no! You know how innocent she is and how she won't be able to say no to you were you to kiss her! For Christ sake! You are the first boy she has ever liked! And you treated her like one of your toys!" She grabbed his shirt and pulled him to her. "She's not a toy. She's not a joke. And she deserves better than your kiss and run. Stay the fuck away or every time I see you, I will make your face into an abstract sculpture!" She pushed him back. Grabbing her bag, she walked away from him.
Ryan rolled his eyes and sighed. "I wouldn't have hurt her," he told her.
She looked over her shoulder at him. "You already did, bastard," she said coldly.
The rest of the day, Gabby drew pictures of her killing Ryan on her notebook. Eventually Danny took it away and scribbled it out. When the final bell rang, Danny was whining again.
"Please can I have a snack? I'm so hungry, Gabby," she said rubbing her belly. "I didn't get lunch."
"Can't you wait until dinner?" Gabby groaned as they walked home.
"But, Gabby!" she whined.
"Here," Ryan said as he walked up behind them and handed her the half of the sandwich she didn't eat. When Gabby glared at him, he held up his hands in defense. "I'm not following you. I have to meet someone so I'm simply walking same as you. Don't get your panties in a wad about it."
"Don't eat it," Gabby said but Danny already had half of it in her mouth. Gabby's eyes grew wide and Danny blushed.
"I'm really hungry..."
"Chill it's not like I poisoned it or anything and she's eating for two. Just let her enjoy it," Ryan said with a smile.
"If you insist on walking, the walk on the other side of the street. Away from us," Gabby said as she took Danny's hand after Danny finished the sandwich.
"And just why would I do that? I find your company so thrilling," he said with a smirk.
She back handed him. "How about now?"
He stopped and wiped the blood from his lips, his eyes narrowing as he glared at her. "Now I find it kinky," he said as he spit the blood from his lips.
A small cloth was pressed to his lips. Danny looked at his eyes as she pressed hard to keep the blood at bay. Gabby stood next to her steaming with her fists balled tight. "Danny...I thought we talked about this," she growled.
"Oh...right," Danny whispered. Slowly, she pulled from Ryan and handed him the cloth. "Bye, Ryan."
Gabby took her hand and they rushed off to their house. Passing through the gates, they ran inside.
Ryan held the cloth to his lips and shook his head. "I'll never figure out those two," he sighed. Other than kissing Danny, he didn't think that he'd done anything wrong. Both he and Danny fervently enjoyed the kiss, and at some point or another she was going to have to learn about love and heartache. It might as well be with someone who would at least be gentle about it.
Gabby threw things about her room as Danny winced with every crash. She was yelling on the phone and Danny was trying hard not to cry. She threw something else and a window was broken. In the hallway, the maids paced with worry.
"I'm not going!" Gabby screamed. "You can't make me leave her! She needs me! You can't just leave her here all alone!"
Her father demanded obedience and for her to shut up. Gabby growled at him but everything was settled. Gabby was being called home for a family banquet. Afterward she would appear in a few magazines and TV talk shows in the U.S. Her father was being honored as one of the most promising men in the country and his family was needed to show that he was a family man. Of course...Danny wasn't allowed to come. A pregnant sixteen year old daughter was not good for the record. So Gabby would go and Danny would be 'away for personal reasons.' Gabby would be leaving Danny for at least three months.
Ryan knocked on the door, smiling as a blond girl opened it for him. "Well hello there," he whispered as she grabbed him and pulled him inside.
