Chapter Nine: Go Or Stay?

 

"Are you sure that it's okay to go back with her?" Alez just sits down with Amber besides him. "We have no choice..." Yuki sighs softly. "I can't leave Shuji back there like that, since I'm the one starting this whole mess. I'll be the one to finish it up then..." Mia says solemnly. "So what does this mean?" Alez asks coldly. "It means we're heading back, and you two can just stay here or go back to America and start over again." Yuki gets up and leave.

"Maybe you should do her now, since you won't know if you'll be alive after tomorrow or not..." Mia laughs lightly getting up and leave as well. Amber blushes lightly at Mia's comment, and Alez didn't say anything back. They both sit there with Alex sleeping on the couch for a long moment before they both head up the stairs to bed.

"This would be so bad tomorrow..." Yuki sighs, sitting down on her bed. "Ahhh... Who am I kidding?" she has her hands on her head and fall backwards. "Kane-sama is totally going to kill us all," she closes her eyes trying to sleep.

"Who am I kidding? I was scared stiff when Kane-sama got angry..." Mia lay down on her bed. "I was so scared that I couldn't say anything to help the situation, if I had things wouldn't be this way..." she rolls over on her face. “Alex was right about it though, she never wished to be this way... I made her this way, so it's all my fault..." Mia sobs quietly. "Shuji... I'm so sorry... I promise... I'll come for you tomorrow and no matter what, I won't let you takes my fall for me..." she swears to herself.

Meanwhile back at a dark corner somewhere at the main house, Shuji and Ken are chain to the wall. "Shuji-san...?" Ken's voice sounds so weak. "Yeah, I hope they get away from here..." Shuji replies weakly himself. "Is it all worth it?" Ken tries to looks over at Shuji. "Worth every second..." he grins. “Yeah, it does..." Ken chuckles and coughing a little.

Morning comes again, and everyone is at the main house's front door. They're all ready for an almost like final showdown of sort, Ryo and Ritsu seem ecstatic beyond words grinning at Yuki. It is like a family feud, but with extra strangers into it. Alex looks so calm and cold, saying nothing since most of them she didn't know and some of them are staring at the scar on her face than bothering with fighting or evil looks.

"Yo, sorry but Kane-sama says it's officially okay for us to kick your butt..." Ryo laughs coldly. "So don't hate us for hurting your little precious friends..." Ritsu adds in to her boyfriend. "I just hope you can live long enough to enjoy your spoil..." Yuki laughs lightly. "Yo Alez! You shoulda learn that apposing Kane-sama will result in this... I think it's time you should disappear from this family anyway..." Ryo laughs arrogantly.

"Let me take a look at that scar, I think I can heal it..." "Don't touches... me..." Alex brushes Kentaro's hand aside. Her eyes is as cold and lifeless, it is like she's not even alive so she shows no expression at all. "Kane-sama is hard on things like this..." "Don't bother covering up, I don't care about anyone. All I want is that she needs to apologize for hurting other people..." Alex says calmly. "So you can either try to kill us like they do, or stand aside or let us through." Alex says wryly to the poor guy who's just being considerate.

"Well, we don't favor fighting, so we will step aside and clean up the aftermath like we used to." Daisuke smiles charmingly at Mia. "I'm with him," his twin sister nods her head also. Then some other people also decided it is in their best interest to not get involve and instead just watching from afar and hoping that Kane-sama would come to her senses that this is not the 19th century anymore.

"You should die halfa!" Ryo says attacking Alex. "You're such a spoil little brat, Ryo!" Alez runs smack in and punches the lights out of Ryo before he even close to Alex. Showing their true selves, things begin to grow wings and float around. "You'll die..." Ritsu somehow standing in front of Alex and grabs her throat. "Don't you dare...” Yuki's voice fills with anger as she reaches out and grabs Ritsu's hand.

The fight between Alez and Ryo, and Yuki and Ritsu begin to escalate. Alex and Mia quietly cut through the battle and made it to the darkroom, where more chaos awaits them. Mia tries to takes most of the battle against other members in the family alone, but Alex didn't like it and joins the fight also.

How are you handling so far?" Mia says over her shoulder dodging a tall guy's punch. "Swell, can't you tell?" Alex replies sarcastically. In a moment of carelessness, Alex was send flying backwards and breaking through the paper wall, land smacking outside where the others still trying to kill each other. "Alex!" Mia elbows the guy in the stomach and burst through the already broken paper wall after Alex.

"Does these people in a conspiracy to send me flying through the paper wall through and through or what?" Alex sits up and rubs her head lightly. "How can you still making dry joke at a time like this?" Mia shakes her head and reaches out to help Alex up. "Thanks, didn't you know I love these paper walls?" she gets up and laughs crisply. "Yeah… yeah... why don't you marry a Japanese guy then?" "Love to; you know one that's not vampy or a weirdo in anyway?" Alex chuckles at Mia. "Ugh... I give up..." Mia rolls her eyes with a heavy sigh.

"Cozy..." Yuki's voice echoes behind them. "So cozy that you two make me sick..." Alez joins in also. "Wow... you look like you just finish making a zombie movie..." Mia blinks at Alez. He attains some bruises and cuts, and Amber is right beside him supporting him. Although she herself looks pretty pale, it's like she's the one fighting and not him. "Seemingly he's not as bad as he look..." Yuki says and Alez coughs lightly. "Kentaro-kun... tends his wounds..." Yuki says to Kentaro standing by the steps the whole time with some others watching the fight. "Yes ma'am..." he smiles gently walking over to Alez and looks at his bloody wounds.

"What happened to Ritsu?" Mia suddenly remembers about her. "Oh... she's just taking a dirt nap..." Yuki nods her head to her right in telling them to look over there. Laying face down on the ground, with a pool of blood darken the soil. Her arms and legs are in an unnatural way for someone laying face down. "Did you kill her?" Mia narrows her gaze on Yuki. "No, I'm just reshaping her looks..." Yuki laughs coldly showing her fangs still gleaming with blood. "I'm so did not want to know whose blood is that on your fangs..." Alex shivers a little and turns away. "Me neither..." Mia follows behind Alex back up the stairs and into the now not-so-darkroom.

As soon as they step inside, Mia goes on full mode baring her fangs and glowing red eyes. With Yuki as back up, the fight seems much easier although they aim for Alex more than the other two. Alex didn't show her fangs or anything, she just smirks and form her hands into tight fists and punches them like crazy.

You're... not bad... for a halfa..." one of them says breathlessly spitting blood out of his mouth. "Geez... thanks..." Alex blows the back of her hands to cool off the pain from all the punching. "Shuji... and Ken are in the basement, just below..." the girl continues. “Thank you, Kentaro will look after you guys..." Yuki kneels down and pads on the girl's shoulder. "Sorry that we have to do this, but an order is an order. We lose with no regret..." the girl smiles softly.

Burst through the door, the trio run down the stairs and looks around at the eerily dark basement. "Yo..." Alex makes a small salute to Ken, who was chained to the wall. "Why... why did you guys come back for?" Ken groans. "We come back for you, silly..." Yuki reaches out and free him. She then catches him before he hits the floor, hugging each other tightly.

"Somehow they're so sweet to each other that I think I'm getting sick..." Alex makes a face. "Oh, they're an item..." Mia laughs. "They were so cold to each other since I met them, what's the deal with that?" Alex raises an eyebrow at Mia. "Oh that..." Mia just laughs. "They are having the break moment, and their on-and-off affection is just strange..." Mia sighs lightly at that. "Okay, let's find Shuji..." Alex changes her topic quickly. "Wait... isn't Shuji supposed to be here too?" Mia looks around. "No, Kane-sama knows... so she takes him to her actual throne..." Ken says weakly.

"Why do you people making so many houses?" Alex asks busting through yet another paper wall with Mia just a bit ahead of her. "Well, we did house over a hundred people after all." Mia speeds up a little and Alex tries her best to keep up. "Come on woman! You know I can't go that fast..." Alex calls after Mia. "Just keep on running, you'll catch up..." Mia calls back already far ahead of Alex.

"Kane-sama, where's Shuji?!" Mia bust through the door of a small house way in the back of all the houses, surrounded by nothing but trees. "So you come..." Kane grins showing her fangs and her eyes glowing red sitting in the dark side of the room. "Let Shuji go... everything is all my fault..." Mia says breathlessly. "But you're soon to be married to him, so it is only right for him as a man to take the punishment for you..." a shrill of laughter escape from Kane.

"Do you guys bust through door just to talk or what?" Alex says catching her breath. "You..." Kane hisses. "Yo... we're here to take Shuji back..." Alex stands up straight and smiles calmly at Kane. "Shuji..." "Yes Milady..." Shuji says stepping out from behind Kane, Shuji looks spaced out and not himself at all. Mia knows right away that Kane is using mind-control on him, but there's nothing Mia can do to undo what Kane has done. "Kill them," Kane waves her hand and Shuji says nothing and just attack Mia and Alex.

Whoa..." Alex backs away as Shuji approaches. "This got to be a joke, right?" Alex looks over at Mia, whose face turn gray. "No... Shuji is now just a doll, a puppet if you like to call it that way." Mia replies solemnly. "Do something then!" Alex yells as she turns to run from Shuji's grip. "I can't.... only Kane-sama can unbind her power on him," Mia takes off after Shuji. "Can anyone else do this besides Kane? Ugh..." Alex is too slow and Shuji, in no time got her by the neck.

Moving his arm slowly yet swiftly, he sends her flying against the wall. Amazingly, besides the paper doors the wall are made of entirely concrete. She feels something so painful shoot up to her brain, Alex slides down to the floor laying face-down. “I'm gonna die...” she thought faintly tasting her own blood rushing up her mouth. The bells now went off all at once in her ears, and she can't hear anything but a sound from a distance a sound of someone calling her.

"Get up..." Mia kneels down besides Alex and helps her up. "I... can't feel anything..." is all that Alex says as her eyes too become lucid spaced out. “No... You're strong... stronger than anyone, so you must get yourself together..." Mia didn't get to finish what she was trying to say when Shuji grabs her and thrust her away from Alex.

"Bring her to me..." Kane's voice echoes from far away in Alex's ears. Shuji silently picks her up by her shirt's collar and walks back to where the dark corner his master sits. With so little light, Shuji turns Alex around to face Kane by holding her up by grabbing onto her shoulders. Not much to see since her head hangs and blood trickles down to the wooden floor from the corner of her mouth, and her eyes closes tightly showing a peaceful face that was never there when she's awake.

"Ahh... such looks..." Kane reaches her pale bony hand out to touches Alex's face. "Come, she will make a good meal for me..." Kane says coldly ordering Shuji to take Alex with him and follows her into the darkness that awaits them. Leaving Mia laying there on the floor, she can't even move a muscle from being thrown by Shuji. Mia has completely forgotten how strong Shuji is, she becomes careless and not taking in the training to keep her power from slipping away. Unlike her, Shuji always trains to maintain his form of power even with the busy of the businesses burden on his shoulders.

"Kane-sama... I beg of you.... no..." Mia pleads. "Mercy is shown today, but to you only and that is all..." Kane replies crisply and vanishes along with Shuji and Alex. "No... Alex..." a single tear escapes from her when she closes her eyes. Mia tries with all her might to get up, but they are already gone by this point. "No..." she looks on and more tears dampen her eyes. "SHUJI!!!" her cries torn the sky asunder and shakes the earth as tears flood from her brown eyes.
