Chapter Twelve: I'm Home

 

Two months past after the wedding, and the air started to cool down somewhat. Standing in kendo stance, two people clash their wooden sword against each other. They desperately trying to find the weak point of the other, in the end one have sword near head and other ready to stab through the guts. They withdraw their sword and bow at each other before taking their mask off, and sweat pouring down their face as the mask comes off.

"You've progress amazingly," Shuji says as dries his face after washing it. "When you're fighting against Kane-sama everyday for practice, you have to..." Alex washes her face and dries. "Let us change and please stay for breakfast," Shuji says gently. "We'll see," Alex walks off to change her clothes. Moments later they both come back out in nice suit, she's in white as always and he's in black.

"So you finally show," Daisuke mocks as Shuji and Alex come outside. "What do you two want?" Shuji asks politely. "We want the entire family's businesses, we're her kids and you're just the third generation. You don't deserve it..." Sakura answers for her brother. "So you're challenging me into a fight to solve this?" Shuji asks calmly. "Yes, if I win the title head family is ours..." Daisuke laughs madly. "Fine, if that's how you want it..." Shuji sighs.

"No, I'll take them..." Yuki says coming out of the main house with the others. "No, as his wife, I'll share his burden..." Mia speaks up with the young lady standing next to her. "Neither of you can beat me, how do you expect to defeat him?" Shuji looks over at his family. "I'll stay for breakfast, but let me have the pleasure of taking this challenge for you instead. I would like to see their skills too," Alex holds her right hand out to stop Shuji.

"How courageous..." Daisuke grins at her. "We know why you killed that guy nearly a year back," Sakura adds in. "What of it?" Alex takes her jacket off and hands it to Shuji. "Was it because your best friend was raped by her ex-boyfriend?" Sakura smirks at Alex. "So that's why you missed their wedding, just to digs up everything there is about me?" Alex laughs taking her tie off. "But this best friend of yours also did something almost violated you, did she not? Isn't that why you moved away from your hometown?" Daisuke widen his grins at her.

Upon hearing that, Alex let her head hangs her eyes widen at his words. "You... should've never talks about it..." her hands turn into fists. Her knuckles turn white looking up at him; she let out a roar that sends out a wave powerful enough to turns every hair on a person's body to stand up. Her eyes are like fiery red, baring her fangs she attacks Daisuke without waiting for another word to come out of his mouth. As fast as lightning, she's already in front of him and punches him in the face before he can reacts to her roar.

"So that's why she keeps her distance from everyone," Mia murmurs. "Alex, I'll take him..." the young lady calls out hearing what Mia just say. “No... He's mine..." Alex growl as she returns Daisuke's every punches with her punches. The fight between the two went on for hours, and they both use everything they got. But the sky doesn't agree with them and rain pour down while they're fighting to the death.

Finally Alex has to advantages and kicks him real hard on the face, sending him fall back on the muddy ground. Jumping on top of him, she pulls on his hands and legs breaking it in half. "You think that old hag love you? She loves you because you look like her lost love..." Daisuke says spitting blood out. "Shut up!" Alex punches his face. "You only resemble him, but in her heart and mind it's him. She doesn't see you for you, but him... You can't compete with that... you know it..." he laughs madly as Alex punches his face bloody.

"Alex, that's enough... he can't fight anymore... he lost..." Shuji holds the umbrella with one hand and pulling on Alex with his other hand. He gasps in shock when she looks up at him; the scar on her left face is now bleeding profusely again. Daisuke have manages to cut it open again while they're fighting, so he let go of the umbrella and grabs her. Shuji drags her back into the dojo, go back out and tells Mia to call Kentaro.

After the treatment and the rain lift it, Alex went home and didn't stay after all. For many days after that, she didn't come with the young lady to the main house to visit Shuji and the others. Without a word, she packs up and left the Ureshima. The young lady asks Shuji if Alex says anything before leaving, and the others any news of her.

While upon arriving back in America, her sister-in-law comes to pick her up from the airport. "What the heck happened to you?" she walks out to the parking lot with Alex holding her luggage. She stands an inch shorter than Alex, with long silky black hair, pretty face, a little tanned skin tone, and a really baby voice. "Accident at work, one of the boxes blows..." Alex shrugs it off smoothly. "So how long are you back here for?" she asks starting the engine. "A month or so..." Alex buckles up.

You should take up the family's business," her sister-in-law says as she pulls out of the parking lot. "No, not really. I don't want to take up on it again," Alex sighs leaning back. "Hey, this is what paid for your college fees," her sister laughs lightly. "I was working back then too," Alex laughs softly. "So, found any guy to settle down yet?" her sister changes the subject. "No, as I told you before they're all immature and stupid." Alex replies dryly.

"Ugh... I forgot that this place is hot in any seasons," Alex complains stepping out of the car after her sister park it in the driveway. "It's only been a near eight years and you already changed," her sister says entering the house. "Hey, there's snow where I live." Alex protests. "There's sand and heat where we live," her sister mocks her. "This is why I didn't write to you guys," Alex drops down on the couch laughing. "Blame it on your brain for not remembering to writes," her sister sits down next to her.

Meanwhile at the Ureshima's estate, "What do you mean she's not back in the U.S.?" Shuji sounds serious. "I called to her roommate, who told me she hasn't come back since she left for Japan." Mia replies quietly. "Then where could she be? Kane-sama is very upset about it right now, and I don't want to know what she'll do to Daisuke and Sakura if we don't find Alex's location soon." Shuji sighs heavily. "Even though they wanted to rule the family and all, but they're still part of the family. Even I wouldn't like to see them being torture by mother," Kentaro says.

"Hmm... She might returns to her hometown..." Amber says thoughtfully. "It is possible," Alez agrees with his now legally wife. "Yes, since we're going back home. Alez and I will look up her hometown address and will let you know." Amber smiles softly, clinging onto Alez a little. "I'll go too," Mia says. "Oh no, you're not..." Yuki says coming in from outside with Ken next to her. "I have to check up on the company over there," Mia says. "Actually, we're going over there and take over the company." Ken announces. "Ah?!" Mia almost drops her jaw in awe.

"As his wife, you must be by his side and share his burden..." Yuki says showing a little smirk. "We also goes there to be his legal family for the wedding too," Ken adds pointing at Alez and Amber. "So you just make sure that Kane-sama doesn't kill those two until we find that crazy kid's address," Yuki says with a serious face. "Will do," Shuji bows thankfully at them. "That's what family is for," Ken bows back.

Setting everything aside, the four get the papers done and fly over to the U.S. to find Alex and prepare for the wedding also. Amber announces to her family that she and Alez will be getting married soon, and then she'll enter college. Her family was glad, and she moves out into the apartment with him. While Yuki and Ken move into Mia's old place and take over the company there as well.

After much searching, Yuki finally obtains Alex's old address all the while Alex was literally helping out with the family business. Immediately Yuki sends the info back to Japan to Shuji, thus Daisuke and Sakura escape the consequence they brought upon themselves. Kane quickly fly to U.S. to meet up with Yuki and Ken, as Alez and Amber busy themselves preparing for the wedding in the month that would come.

Standing in front of a fairly large house playing with a little kid about four or five years old, Alex laughs happily with the kid. A black sedan pulls up the driveway and stepping out of the car are Alez, Amber, Yuki, and Kane, dressing in sleek and casual clothes. Alex looks up and notices them; she quickly walks up to the kid and picks her up putting her to sits on Alex's shoulders.

"What do you people want?" she asks coldly. "Why did you just up and leave?" Kane asks in a soft voice. "Because I don't have a job there, I don't want to get pay for not working. I also don't want to be any part of the Ureshima's family." Alex says holding onto the little kid's legs so she don't fall off. "If it's a job you want, you can work for the company over here like before." Alez says in a harsh tone of voice. "Didn't you hear me?" Alex gives him a cold look. "I said I want no part of your family in my life. I don't want to go into work seeing an Ureshima, and going out seeing another one." Alex says firmly.

"Aunty, who are these people?" the little kid asks with a cute little voice. The language sounds almost like Korean, yet it is actually Chinese. "They're people from my old work place asking me back," she looks up at the kid and smiles. "Are you going to leave again?" the kid asks kissing Alex's forehead. "Will you cry if I do?" Alex laughs. "Yeah, mom and dad are hardly home, even on their day off. You're only one that spend time playing with me," the kid hugs Alex's head. "Then aunty will not go away, how does that sounds?" Alex reaches up and takes the kid's hands out of her face. "Yay..." the kid giggles happily.

"Is that your kid?" Amber asks looking at the kid giggling. "My brother's kid," Alex's expression changes from happy to strangely cold. "How old is she?" Yuki asks. "Four," she is still as cold as ice.

"Mom, can we go to the theatre?" a kid opens the door and calls out to Alex. "Have you finished your homework?" Alex asks without turning around. "Yes," the girl replies. "Show it to me," Alex calls back. "Okay!" the kid closes the door. "Kids..." Alex sighs lightly.

"That your kid then?" Kane asks. "No, my other niece..." "Then how do you explain her calling you 'mom'?" Alez growls at Alex. "She calls my mom, mom too..." the kid sitting on Alex's shoulders interrupt. “Yes, my family finally found her about four years back. Her mother was my older sister, but Cidny is my little girl. Out of all my brothers' and sister's kids, I adores her the most. Then this little brat comes along, right Jesse?" Alex tugs on the kid's legs a little. "Yup," the kid says proudly.

"See? All done," Cidny comes out with homework showing it to Alex. "Good job, now take Jesse in and you two get change. We'll go to the movie, and then to the beach..." "Aww... but I want to go to the park after the movie..." Cidny whines. "Yeah..." Jesse climbs down with Cidny's help. "Okay... okay... park it is then..." Alex laughs and the kids excuse themselves and head back inside the house.

"So, are you guys clear on my answer?" Alex turns to face her friends. "We'll come back another day then," Yuki says quietly. "No, don't come back. I work ten hours a day, six days a week. I like to have quality time with my family, so find someone else to be your love-interest or whatever that you people are looking for. Just leave me alone," Alex says firmly with a cold stern looks on her face. "Fine then," Alez says angrily and pulls Kane towards the car. They all get in and Alez speeds off down the quiet morning street.

It has been nearly a year since they come to see Alex and she's now move on but didn't come to Amber's wedding. She only sends the present, and she's content with being home and with her family again. The kids too, are glad to have her home so they have someone to talk to or just to be with.

One day, a few men in black suits come for her. "Are you Alex?" one man asks. "Yes?" Alex looks up from the flower bed she's working on. "Come to this place, if you wish nothing happens to your house." another man say coldly handing her a card. The last man flash her a grin baring his fangs just as they turn and left, and right then she knows that she can't stay here anymore.

She go inside and immediately pick up her cell phone and call Kentaro right away, "Kentaro... listen... I need you to look something up for me." Alex says calmly. "What do you need?" Kentaro's voice, flood over the line. "Look up if there's another group of vampires out there after you guys," Alex says staring at the card. For a few moment there is only silent on the other line, "They find you?" "Just tell me, Kentaro. Who are they? What do they want with me?" Alex hardens her voice. "They are those whom I guess Ryo and Ritsu had created, and might be under Daisuke or Sakura's order..." Kentaro pauses with a heavy sigh. "If they threaten my family into helping them, I'll kill every single one of them. I'll come back there and kill those four as well, because no one messes with my family." Alex grits her teeth together and Kentaro can tell there's much anger in her voice.

"Bravo Miss Alex, you came... it shows you care about your family..." a young man sitting in a big chair clapping his hands. It is just an office building, and he looks a lot like Alez and Alex. "My name is Kaoru, and you now have won my beloved Kane's heart. You see? I staged my own death, and now everything the Ureshima have will belongs to me. Kane, she was foolish enough to think that I, Kaoru Mitsu love such a monster." the young man laughs evilly.

"Your mouth is moving, but all I hear is 'blah blah blah'..." Alex yawns boringly. "Hmph!" Kaoru smack his hands on the table hard. "You have guts... and I need someone like you..." "Uh-huh?" Alex raises an eyebrow at him. "To lead my armies and crush everyone in the Ureshima, you will only be under me and above everyone else." Kaoru leans forward a bit baring his fangs at Alex. "Well then, my first targets shall be Ryo, Ritsu, Daisuke, and Sakura..." Alex says and she can see Kaoru's eyes changes from happy to nearly angry.

"They are the ones helping you get this far, so I guess you're not all that powerful either." Alex laughs in his face. "You see? They don't like me, so they must go first..." Alex puts her hands on the table and leans in to face him also baring her fangs. "So what do you suggest?" he asks her. "That's what I suggested, I will help you wipe the Ureshima name off this Earth only if I get to kill those first." Alex grins. "Deal, but first... I want you to lure the ones over here first, then we will move over there." Kaoru says. "Done!" Alex stands up. "When can you start this mission?" Kaoru sits back down and leans back. "Tomorrow, we'll set the plan into motion tomorrow. I'll leave for them tomorrow..." Alex turns and leaves.

"Such a fool... once I get Kane's blood... I shall be stronger than anyone and you will not be needed anymore..." Kaoru smirks after Alex's is completely out of his sight. "Along with your blood, I can rule this world without any troubles... not even those four can do anything about it, because they'll then just be my slaves..." Kaoru burst into a long maniacally laughter.

"Kentaro?" Alex calls him soon after she's far away from the building. "Yes?" "I want you to put Daisuke, Sakura, Ritsu, and Ryo away." Alex says quietly. "Why?" Kentaro sounds concerned. "Just do it, chain them up too... Do not let anyone know about it, this is between us. If you do not wish to see everyone in the Ureshima perish, then just do as I said and don't ask." Alex says. "Are you sure?" Kentaro is still unsure of this sudden request. "Trust me, because I just met with Kaoru Mitsu. The man you claim to be dead is very alive, thanks to those four..." Alex hangs up.

While in Japan, "Hello?!" Kentaro says but the line went dead already. "This is not good..." he murmurs putting his phone away and heading to Daisuke's room. Kentaro quietly knock Daisuke out and drags the dead weight into an underground chamber, there Kentaro chains the boy up and lock the door up. He went back and did the same with Sakura, Ryo, and Ritsu. He comes to realized that Daisuke and Sakura plotted for a very long time, that's why they saved Kaoru Mitsu. Then Ryo and Ritsu join them soon after, using Kaoru to create as much halfa as possible so they can have armies of it at their disposal when they go against the entire Ureshima. What they didn't know was that Kaoru himself have a plan of his own and is now setting it into motion by having Alex to join his side.

"This family truly is full of surprises, as you once said..." Kentaro sighs leaving the chamber. "Poor mother didn't know the man she loves so much was just a fake. I just hope that nothing of him is in her memories anymore, and only the memories of Alex exist in her. Then when the truth shows... things would be much better..." Kentaro murmurs to himself. But deep inside he knows that there's no way Kane has forgotten the man she loves, and she will never forget him. The truth about this whole thing will kill her inside and out, then who knows what kind chaos will break lose once again.

Slowly and tiredly, Alex pack her stuffs up and ready to leave the next day. "You promised that you wouldn't leave us!" Jesse says kicking and screaming. "Dear, I'm just going away for a while. I'll be back," Alex stops what she was doing and picks Jesse up and hugs her tightly. "Then I'll pack up and go with you too," she says sniffling. "No dear, mom and dad would be very angry with me. Besides, you have school to go to and Cidny is here with you too." Alex says rubbing the kid's back to calm her down.

"I don't want you to leave either," Cidny speaks quietly standing by the doorway. "Come on now, you're not like Jesse." Alex turns around and smiles at her niece. "But I haven't seen you in so long, and now just when I thought you're going to stay with us. You packs up and leave again," tears starting to run down her cheeks. "Well, I have to get back to work to take care of myself..." "Mom and dad can take care of you!" Jesse says clinging to Alex's neck. "Hahaha... unless you guys can work and take care of me, I'm sure mom and dad wouldn't like that idea of me living here and not working." Alex laughs lightly putting Jesse down as she too sits down on the bed.

"I'll quit school and get a job," Cidny says determinedly. "No, you're not quitting school." Alex says calmly signaling for Cidny to come over and she does. "How about this? I'm going away to work; I'll send for you two when it's summer. You don't have school in summer, is that a deal? You can stay with me during the entire summer," Alex sugar-coating the girls. "Okay," Cidny looks down at her hands. "You'll call us every night?" Jesse now stops crying and looks up at Alex. "Not every night, how about every weekend?" Alex smiles softly at the kid. "Okay!" Jesse wipes the tears away and smiles happily at Alex.

Meanwhile in Japan, things become somewhat hairy. "Where did those four go?!" Shuji asks Kentaro. "How would I know?" Kentaro shrugs coldly. "You should know, since you're the last person to see them." Shuji looks at Kentaro sharply. "Just because I'm the last person seeing them, doesn't mean anything Shuji. They're probably taking off to get away from this house for some fresh air that might benefit Daisuke's health. Who knows," Kentaro replies taking out a cigarette and light it. "You're right, and I'm sorry for jumping to conclusion." Shuji looks a little sad.
