CATACLYSM *HURRICANE*TSUNAMI*FIRESTORM*EARTHQUAKE*BLITZKREIG*
A boy was standing alone in a clearing, wearing a pure white robe, with the kanji for wind on the back, his face hidden. He raised his arm, and a slow, small tornado appeared in front of him. The speed of its spinning increased, until with a flash of fire, another boy, also wearing a robe covering his face, this one red, with the kanji for fire on its back, stepped out of it.
"Firestorm...excellent, you came to my call..."the white-robed boy said to the boy, now known as firestorm.
"Well, I had no choice, you practically forced me through the portal...so what do you want, Hurricane?" he retorted, crossing his arms.
"At 10:32 this morning, I recieved intelligence that a large force was moving in through the south border, and intercepted a shipment of diamonds, they took none, which suprised me...It seems that they are looking for something." Hurricane answered, pulling out a notebook from his sleeves, giving it to Firestorm. "These are all the shipping diamond companies that were intercepted in the past year."
"Well, nothing out of the ordinary here....except, hang on...look at the dates...They all happen on the seventh of the month....and only once a month..." Firestorm muttered, scanning further down the list. "Wait, isn't that your birthday? and besides that...diamond is your birthstone..."he looked at the boy with one eyebrow raised, deep in thought.
"Exactly, and I was thinking-..." he didn't get very far, before a truck on the highway nearly 10 miles away exploded. "Damnit, today is the seventh!" he yelled, running towards the explosion.
"Yeah, so maybe running isn't as fast as wind-surfing, is it?" Firestorm yelled, his lower half bursting into flames, as he rose into the air, and shot towards the explosion like a cannon.
"True......" he whispered, his lower half surrounded by a tornado, as he caught up to firestorm, and they both charged on.
"Damn, we need to go faster!" Firestorm shouted, though barely audible as the words were whipped from his mouth by the speed.Hurricane agreed, and as they both concentrated, the rest of their bodies became incased in their respected elements. Achieving speeds not visible to the naked eye, they reached the scene within seconds.
"That was fast..." Firestorm laughed, then became serious as he turned his view to the carnage that was in front of them. Bodies were everywhere, the scent of blood thick in the air. They couldn't identify the attackers, as they were hidden by the smoke. They got to work immediatly, with Hurricane removing the smoke, and Firestorm forcing all the flames to ember, so Hurricane could use a swift shot of wind and douse them.
"That wasn't too shabby boys, but how about taking on something with a little more...kick?" an unfamiliar voice shouted from the top of the remains of the truck. The two boys looked up, and seen a very attractive girl, barely dressed in a mini-skirt, tank top, and a fish-net body suit was sitting crossed-legged on the top of the truck. Faster then they could see, she jumped into the air, flipping, and landing in front of them.
"Who are you and why have you destroyeed this truck?" Hurricane asked in a soothing, yet commanding tone.
"I am spark, and I wont bother telling you anything...seeing as information can't be taken to the grave." She answered, extending her hand. A powerful bolt of electricity shot out, intending to strike Hurricane in the chest.
"hmmm...." Hurricane smirked, as he blinked and the air around him started to swirl, almost unnoticable. The electricity slowly swerved around him, striking a large boulder behind him, shattering it.
"But....how....no one.....I....." Spark muttered incoherently, wondering how he evaded her attack. She quickly regained her composure. "So....your a freak too?" she asked blatantly.
"No, we are not freaks, we are simply....unique...and I am still wondering what you are trying to gain through destroying all those trucks, as there was a lightning storm every single day." Firestorm quickly cut in, stepping closer to the girl.
"Well, seeing as you are the only ones who ever evaded my quickbolt I respect you enough to tell you this much, at least. Since I was born I could manipulate electricity, when I was a baby, I accidentally caused the neighbourhood to black out. My dad knew it was my fault, as everytime I had a temper tantrum our house would completely shut down. He cast me away, into the cold night. I was alone for three years, I honed my powers, and learned how to control them better...I was taken in by a man a few years later, he gave me everything I wanted, in exchange for...a few...favors. First it was nothing big, a zap here, a zap there...Then it became destruction, chaos, and dischord. I am searching for a special diamond that glows every seventh of the month. The only thing I know about it is it a key." Spark explained. The wind picked up uncontrollably as a large, black, military issue helicopter flew up behind her, the barrels spinning, picking up speed until they fired.
"Hah, your finished now!" Spark smirked, wating for their screams of death. She was shocked however, when the helicopter open fired on her.
"No!" Hurricane shouted, forming a wind barrier around the three of them. It was too late however, as one already peirced her back, barely missing her heart, shredding the lower half of her lung
"Damn, Hurricane, get us out of here!" Firestorm shouted, encasing hte half-dome in fire, to protect them from the small army that was bashing and shooting at the shield with their guns and swords.
"I can't, If I let go of my control on Spark, she will die!" He shouted, trying to keep her alive."Wait, can't you make portals too?"
"Yes, but they aren't very strong, and I doubt I could get us back to the base..." Firestorm answered.
"Well, get us to the clearing at least! I know you can make ten miles, you did it before."
"I can't, I dont have the strenght, form a secong shield around you and the girl, Im gonna use my namesake, and take these guys out!" Firestorm yelled, focusing all of his power into his heart and lungs. Hurricane's eyes widened, then shut, focus straining on his face as he controlled two shields, and regulated breathing in a useless set of lungs.
"AAAAAGH!!!" Firestorm screamed, releasing all of his stress, anger, and rage in a burst of power that incinerated the militia before they knew what happened, their armor melting, forming make-shift graves for the soldiers. Helicopters swarmed to get out of the way, to no avail, as the flames reached them, turning the once brand new machine of flight, into liquid metal, the pilots inside nothing but ash. Firestorm rose into the air, still eminating power and fire, the fire surrounding him, taking the form of a dragon....becoming what he was named for, he became...a Firestorm.
Meanwhile, under a dome of wind, Hurricane was battling with everything he had to sustain the shield and keep Spark alive.
"AAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!" Firestorm screamed once more, however his voice was much more deep and demonic, but died down as he looked around, tail swaying, and seeing no threat, he fell to the ground, unconcious.
"Excellent, with him unconcious, i'l have more work to bloody do!" Hurricane muttered sarcasticly, gathering his energy to his heart.
"Now, I must do this quickly, or she will die. So....no time like the present" he said to himself, forming the portal from wind, releasing Spark quickly to activate it, then taking hold of her once more."And now, just lift them up, and through the portal, back to the base..." He murmered, lifting them up with wind gently, guiding them through the portal.
Back at the base, he lowered Spark into a healing pod, and turning it on, he released his hold on her, while the green gel-like substance inside filled the hole, creating new cells and tissues, repairing the organs, bones, and skins that the bullet from not 14 feet away shattered, ripped, and tore open.
Then, with his control returned, he guided Firestorm to another healing pod, gently lifted him into it, and let him sleep, then he went to his sleeping chambers, and fell into his soft, comfortable bed.
He awoke nearly two hours later, to the smell of steak, potatoes, corn, carrots, peas, and gravy beside his bed on his table. As he sat up, he saw Spark sitting in the chair beside his bed, crying.
"What happened? Why are you crying?" he asked her, tensing up, thinking something happened to Firestorm while he was asleep.
"I'm...really....really....*sniff* sorry for what I did!" she cried, throwing herself onto him, hugging him tight.
"Can't......breathe!!" Hurricane wheezed, trying to get her off of him.
"Hey, Hurricane, are you up ye-....whoops...." Firestorm walked in, then ran out quickly. *damn* he thought. *I liked her......aaaw hell!*
Spark released her hold on Hurricane, looked him in the eye and asked quietly "Can I stay here? I want to join your group, my old master will probably be after me....so...."
"Of course Spark, however, you must swear fealty to us, the base, and swear on your powers with a special ritualy.
"Hmmm...that's fine, I can do that." she answered, her tears drying away, she smiled at him, hugging him again, though not as tight.
Forgetting his dinner, Hurricane led Spark to the ritual chamber. Going over to the wall, he pressed a button on the intercom, and summoned Firestorm to the chamber.
Firestorm arrived and went to his designation on the ritual pentacle. Hurricane went to the top, and Firestorm continued standing to the far right triangle of the star.
"Stand in the middle..." Hurricane ordered. When she stood facing him, he began to speak again. "Do you swear fealty to to Brotherhood of Cataclysm, to never divulge our secrets, to never betray us?" he asked her, in his soothing yet commanding voice.
" I do" she breathed softly.
"Then let your power flow to the top right triangle of the star" he told her. As soon as she was finished Firestorm started to speak.
"Do you swear to only use your powers for what they are intended for, and never misuse them, unless instructed by one of us, or you have the desire to save somebody's life." he asked, his voice full of authority.
"I do" she breathed once more.
"and lastly, do you swear your alliegences to the Brotherhood, this base, and our authority?" they both asked at the same time.
"I do" she breathed, still focusing her power to the triangle.
"Then we hereby give you this robe, and designate you Blitzkreig." Hurricane said, motioning to Firestorm, who gave her a yellow robe with the kanji for lightning on the back. She quickly put it over her own clothes, pulling the hood over her face.
"I hereby announce my fealty to Hurricane and Firestorm, and give them full authority over me. " She announced in a clear, crisp voice. The triangle her power was in glowed yellow quickly, then hardened back into the same colour as the ground.
"Step into your triangle, Blitzkreig." Firestorm ordered. As she shuffled to her triangle, Hurricane and Firestorm spoke once again at the same time.
"We hereby announce you in our brotherhood, and expect the same from you as ourselves, we acknowledge your power, and acknowledge you as our equals." they finished.
"Now let us leave, I will show you your chambers." Firestorm announced, motioning for her to leave.
" I shall be in training compound 23z7, meet me in an hour." Hurricane announced, as they exited the room. As their footsteps faded, a whirlwind surrounded Hurricane and he was gone.
CHAPTER TWO
"......and this is training compound 23z7." Firestorm announced, waving his red-clad arm at a fenced in area of about a mile squared, clearing with wooden training posts shredded, destroyed, burnt, and some were just plain gone. In the middle of the chaos panted-
"Hurricane!...we are here!!" shouted the now-yellow clad Blitzkreig.
"Excellent....COMPUTER, RESTORE TRAINING COMPOUND 23Z7!...come join me you two!" he shouted, then calmly sat down on one of the posts.
As they entered the gates, Blitzkrieg looked in awe as the posts seemed to be re-attaching themselves, or just plain appearing again.
"Now, I would like a demonstration of your abilities. Try to hit four posts with one blast...a sort of chain lightning, if you will." Hurricane told her.
"Alrite...I'll try...." She said, focusing her power into her heart. Then she fired a bolt of electricity out of her hands. It hit the first post, splintering it. She pushed more power, and forced it to change direction. The splinter became a crack as the lightning connected the two posts.Pushing harder still, the lightning almost reached the third post before the first post exploded, shattering the wood and her concentration.
"Oh, damn!" she yelled.
"No, you did better then I thought you would. See, your problem is your control, you figured the more you push, the more it would move...so now you just need to learn how to control the flow of electricity." Hurricane told the lightning user.
"Right, thanks Hurr!" she replied, focusing back on the posts.
"Hurr?......wheres my nickname?" Firestorm asked, almost aggressively.
"Aaaaw poor, cranky, Dragon!" taunted Blitzkreig to the raging boy.
"Why you! I'l get you for that!" Firestorm's bottom half burst into flames as he charged after the girl, who was a lot faster when she transformed, as a cloud covered her bottom half.
"Damnit, get back here!" He shouted.
"Eeep, Hurr, help!" she faked, laughing, causing Firestorm to become even angrier.Suddenly, she turned around, and fired a quickbolt at Firestorm, but missed and hit the post.
"Hah, you missed!" he taunted.
"Wasn't aiming for you!" she taunted back.
He realized what she was doing a second too late, and the post exploded, scattering charged shrapnel all around, and at Firestorm.
"Damn!" he shouted, as it peirced his skin. With a quick transformation and back however, it was reduced to ash, and he was healed.
"Whoops, I think that was a distraction!" She smirked, and a thunderbolts rained down from the sky, striking the posts surrounding Firestorm, shattering them as well, and blowing up the ground, causing a crater to form, with pieces of earth striking him.
"ENOUGH!" Hurricane shouted, then turned to look at Blitzkrieg. "Your improvisational and distracting skills are good, however your stealth and actuat power is something to be desired. So for the next few weeks, I designate you to train under Firestorm. Teach her how it is done. I must go on my patrol, I will summon you if I need you." and with those parting words, a tornado appeared in front of him. He stepped into it, and was whisked away to the top of the base.
"Now, to fly!" He thought. Flying was one of the best things he thought about controlling wind, and he had a lot of reasons he liked it. To fly was to run without tiring, to dance with the wind...to shoot through space like a rocket was a dream come true for him. Gathering oxygen around him and surrounding himself in a bubble of air, he shot into space, looking down at the earth. Preparing himself, he took a deep breath. He gathered wind from around the earth, and made a makeshift sonar image of everything that was happening. What he saw he didn't like.
Two beings were fighting. With earth and water as their weapons, not guns and swords. One was surrounded by earth, and was in the image of a bear, the other surrounded by water, the image of a tiger.
"I must stop this!" he murmured, shooting down towards the beings. As he neared closer, a wall of earth halted his flight, almost causing him to crash. "Thank god for portals..." he muttered, as he quickley teleported inside the wall, and focused two air bubbles around the beings."STOP THIS NOW!" he shouted, in a tone he only reserved for beings of which had no willpower or just wouldn't listen. Immidiatly they stopped, turning to him. Their beast forms receded back into them, or simply fell. Hurricane was stunned to find that one of them was his sister, and the other was a girl he met before, but didn't know that well.
"Tsunami?......Earthquake.....? Why are you two fighting, I thought you were best friends...wait, hold up, when did you get elemental youki?" he asked them with a puzzled expression on his face.
"Big brother!!!were just training..."she grumbled, happy to see him, but still grumbling that he was always worried about her. Then her face brightened up fast. "We got it at the same time, a tsunami hit an island I was on, and a saphire appeared. I took it, and it glowed really bright for about ten minutes, then it became as black as charcoal, and worthless too, I chucked it, and the next thing I knew I was surrounded by water....I used it to save a cat in a tree....I eventually honed these powers though, and now I even have combat skills with them...pretty lucky mom named me Tsunami, right?. I know you had your powers evident at birth, so she named you Hurricane...but still...." she explained quickly.
"Yeah....lucky...."Hurricane muttered, deep in thought."And you?" he asked suddenly, pointing at the other girl, who was laying on a bed of earth that was floating in the air.
"I was also born with it....except I only discovered it five years ago." She answered in a bored tone, as she layed back, stretched out, and stared at the clouds.
"Well, you are both very skilled with your powers, I think its time to recruit you into the brotherhood of cataclysm." he said as calmly as he could, stepping into a portal that he created.
"Wait big bro, Don't leave me again!" Tsunami shouted, as she ran after him.
"Whatever...." EarthQuake shrugged as she followed them.
As soon as they both stepped out of the portal, they were in a blank room with a large star in the centre.Hurricane was in the top triangle, a boy she didn't know and a girl she didn't know were in the top two other triangles. The triangles were glowing white for Hurricane, Yellow for the girl, and Red for the boy, while the other triangles remained blank. The centre was a swirl of colours.
"Step into the centre." He said as he gestured for them to follow his instructions. After they walked over he said "You will now swear fealty to me, Firestorm, and Blitzkreig. After that, you will swear secrecy to the brotherhood, and finally you will swear fealty to the brotherhood and everything it stands for, are you ready?" he asked them politely, as if he was talking to small children.
After the fealty and power ritual was completed, Firestorm handed them their cloaks. After they had put them on, and pulled the hoods down over their faces, they all left to get some good night's rest.
The next three weeks consisted of solid training for all of them, perfecting everything they could, and learning teamwork and combination elements they could perform together.
Eventually they learned roughly 50 new ways to incorperate their powers, and 30 ways to infuse them together.
The next dew days became rough for them all, however. It appeared as though a mass murderer was wreaking havoc among the world. They knew it was either the same guy or at least a group, as all of the victim's had their flesh carved off, leaving only the skeleton, muscles, and organs behind.
"This is serious!" Hurricane said to the group, as they sat in the main compund, surrounded by technology.
"We know this is serious! Thousands of people die every day, and we don't know who it is or how to stop them!" Tsunami shouted, jumping up, leaping towatds Hurricane.
"Easy Tsunami, leave him alone, he needs to think of a plan to help us find, and destroy that....that.....monster!" Blitzkreig raged on about how Hurricane needed quiet, not realizing she was making more noise then any of them. Thinking quickley, Hurricane surrounded her with a cacoon of air, silencing her quickly and effectively.
"Now, I have a plan....Here's what we are going to do....." He told them the plan, giving full detail, but to their dismay they were being watched. As soon as they were finished the plan, the imp watching them disappeared with a small puff of smoke.
The five looked at each other and dissapeared in a burst of their respected element.
Somewhere under the burmuda triangle...The imp re-apeared to a man in a white suit, with a diamond tipped cane.
"I have found her, my leige..." The imp said, without looking in his eyes.
"Excellent, give the location to the pilot, we take off in an hour." The man said with an evil laugh.
Back with Hurricane and the brotherhood of Cataclysm, another robbery takes place, and they are fighting five small armies, each a different colour armor. Together, they were unstoppable, however. Holding hands, a ripple of power started to form. It got bigger and bigger, until a tornado doused with water, electricity coming out of it, spiralled by earth, and the earth covered in fire began to form.
"CATACLYSM TORNADO!" They all shouted as one. The tornado blew everything away, ending in an explosion that killed everything that wasn't protected by Hurricane's wind shields. Then, as if it never happened, all of the fire, lightning, and excess water and earth receded into the ground or evaporated like it wasnt even there. "My time to shine...." Earthquake whispered. Her eyes glowed with power as she gathered energy into her heart. Then, the earth began to move. It repaired itself, and in roughly five minutes, the only reason that you could tell a massive battle just went on were the bodies everywhere.
"My turn...." Firestorm whispered. He shut his eyes as he gathered energy into his heart. "Mass funeral..." he muttered, and all of the bodies burst into flame, leaving nothing but ash in a few minutes.
"Scatter..." Hurricane murmered, and all of the ashes were scattered into the wind.
"Hey, when did we start naming the different things we did with our powers?" Tsunami asked, with a sudden interest.
"Ummm...well, Blitzkreig started it, she was the first one...." Hurricane said. She looked at him and gave him a big smile.
"Yeah, I started it back when I was Spark. I called one of my techniques quickbolt...but only because I used it so much." She told Tsunami, still smiling brightly.
"Well....I want to help....Cleansing Rain!" She shouted. A light rain started, but only in the places that there was still ash.
"But see, now the ground is still wet...so....Drying flame!" and as he said this, fire shot from his hands, but it didnt burn the ground, only evaporated the water.
"Okay, enough fooling around guys, Its time to get to work." Hurricane laughed, then got serious once more."We need to draw out that killer. I think the only way to do so would be to initiate a challen-" He stopped, and looked at his cell phone. He gingerly picked it up. "Hello...." he muttered.
"Ah, Hurricane, how are you today?" a sinister voice laughed.
"Who is this?" He asked, a puzzled look on his face. The others grew quiet once they seen he didn't know the caller.
"I am just calling to say that your expired." The voice said once again.
"What's expired?" He asked.
"YOUR LIFE!" The voice shouted, as a black helicopter loomed into view, and open fired on the Brotherhood of Cataclysm.
"BROTHERHOOD, FADE!!!" Hurricane shouted at the others. The entire Brotherhood glowed with power as they all transformed into wind by holding onto Hurricane's hand.
The bullets passed through them harmlessly, except one hit Hurricane when his leg reappeared.
"AAAAAAGH!" Hurricane shrieked in pain, as the bullet passed clean through his leg. With pain racking his body, he lost his concentration and hold on the others.
"HURRICANE!" They all shouted out.
"Hahahahahaha! All I have to do now is shoot you all down. With no one here to protect you, first I will finish all your leader, Then I will destroy the rest of you!" The voice shouted through an intercom on the helicopter.
"NO ONE....TOUCHES.....HURRICANE.....BUT...ME!!!!!" Blitzkreig shouted, her eyes glowing with power. The sky darkened as clouds as black as night swarmed above her. She screamed as the clouds gave birth to a lightning bolt bigger than anyone has ever seen. The helicopter seemed to fade out of existence as it hit, and no one ever saw it again.
"Wow....Blitzkreig...I didnt think...you cared so much." Hurricane whispered, as he coughed up blood.
"HURRICANE! I swear to god if you die..." Blitzkreig threatened, with tears freely running down her face. There was a time to be strong, and there was a time to show emotions.
"Relax, Blitz, its just in my leg. Tsunami, clean it out with your water, and Firestorm, put a little heat on the water, so its warm." He commanded the others.
"How come we don't get nicknames?...."Tsunami whispered to Firestorm as they began cleaning out his wound.
"I don't know...those too have had a close bond since the moment she joined us. You know she calls him Hurr?" He whispered back, shrugging his shoulders.
"Hey you too, pay attention to what your doing, Your splashing me in the face with scalding water!" He told them."Now Earthquake, hold me in the air on a slab of rock. Make sure no matter what I don't move." He told her, as a slab of rock was lifted from the ground, and cuffs made of rock sealed his arms, legs, torso, and ankles in place."Blitz, I need you to pull the bullet out, then zap it so the tissue comes back to life." He told her, gritting his teeth.
"I don't know If I can, Hurr...." She whispered, still crying.
"Please, you must!" He begged her.
"Okay, but Tsunami has to keep cleaning the blood away." She answered him, giving Tsunami a look.
"Okay...." Tsunami whispered back, closing her eyes and nodding. She raised her hands as water flowed up from the water table in the ground.
"AAAAAGH! HURRY BLITZ, IT BURNS!!!AAAAGH!" Hurricane shouted, as small tornado's started to appear because of his pain.
"And...almost....got it!" Blitz exclaimed, and with a mighty tug, pulled it out.
"Firestorm, seal it shut with heat, but make sure you don't hurt me..." Hurricane told the fire manipulator.
"I'll try..."He murmered, gathering his energy.
Two days later, Hurricane was sitting on the couch in the base's main compound, with Blitzkreig, watching a movie.
BOOOOM!CRASH! And with a mighty explosion, the main wall exploded.
A man dressed in a white suit walked through the door, not a speck of dust on his suit.
"Ahahahaha! Iv caught you, you little traitor! You won't escape me this time!" He laughed maniacally, pointing at Blitzkreig.
"You Will Keep Your Filthy Hands Off Her!" Hurricane shouted, jumping up.
"Aaaaaaw, does lil Hurricane have a crush on Spark?" He laughed again.Thankfully for Hurricane, his cowl hid his blush.
"My name is not Spark, It is Blitzkreig...and I am never going back to you! I am staying here with Hurricane and the others!" She shouted back at him, also thankful that her cowl hid her blush.
"Hurricane Arrow!" Hurricane shouted, as he raised his hand and a slightly silver beam the size of a chair leg shot at the man in the white suit with the force of a hurricane.
He fell to the ground, writhing in pain, as wind slashed and hacked his body.Eventually all that was left was a skeleton......Which stood up. He snapped his fingers and a black cloak instantly covered him, with the kanji for chaos on the back. He snapped again and a demonic skelatal horse appeared under him, raising him into the air.
"Damn human skins....make me actually feel things with those stupid nerves...But it was the only way to stay hidden among this wretched planet!" he grumbled to himself.
"What....what the hell are you?" Hurricane whispered, transfixed on the creature staring down on them from atop the demon horse.
"Haha, hell...ironic. I am known by many names on this planet, especially to those christians....They know me as a horseman...the fourth horseman....Death!" He cackled madly.
"Death.....What are you doing on Earth? Are you behind all of this destruction lately?" Hurricane asked, as politely as he could, being no fool.
"Hmmm...yes, indeed I was." Death answered back, slightly smiling.
"Well in that case-" He never got to finish before Blitzkreig cut him off.
"Why did you confess?" She asked him, daring to look in his eyes. What she saw horrified her, and she looked away, shutting her eyes tight, trying to forget what she saw.
"My three brothers shall escape from the gates of hell soon, as soon as we find the diamond arrowhead of the apocolypse." He told her. He chuckled lightly as soon as he saw that she seen a vision in his eyes.
"Don't look in his eyes...don't look in his eyes..." She muttered repeatedly, still not opening her eyes.
"Hearing her, Hurricane looked away as well, down to his chest, as to not appear rude in front of the unholy god of death and destruction.
"Go on,Hurricane, ask your little girlfriend what she saw." He laughed again, staring hard at Hurricane.
"No, if its hurting her, then I don't want her to hurt herself more by telling me!" He shouted back at his chest, thankful again tha this cowl hid his blush.
"Haha, Tell him Blitzy, or I will...." Death whispered to her, though she heard it as loud as she heard the explosion.
"No, I will tell him, you stay out of this!" She shouted at him, then turned to Hurricane."I saw...I saw...I saw you die!" She whispered, breaking down into tears.
"Your....but...I...I think...I think I..." His little confession was cut short however, when Death suddenly leaped over their heads, turned in midair, landed, and bound off once more out of the hole he had created.
"Now, what were you saying?" Blitzkreig looked up at Hurricane, almost smiling.
"I...uh....I dont remember..." Hurricane muttered, looking away, again, thanking the gods for his cowl.
"Oh....well.....ok then..."She murmered, also looking away. They looked at each other at the same time, staring deeply into each other's eyes.
"I think...we...should get going..."Hurricane told her, still looking in her eyes.
"Aaaaw...but Hurr why do-" her grumbling was cut short however, when Hurricane kissed her lightly.
"Shhh...later." He whispered to her, pulling away and staring into her eyes again.
"Ummm...ok..."She murmered, a blush forming on her face so red, it could make a tomato jealous.
"FIRESTORM, TSUNAMI, EARTHQUAKE.....WE SUMMON THOU!" Hurricane shouted into a seemingly normal tornado. Not 30 seconds later the requested people stepped through.
"Woah, what happened here?" Earthquake asked, looking around the room in awe. The others nodded in agreement, looking at the two puzzled.
"We were...attacked." He said quietly.
"Attacked? How, we are the only people who can get in here!" Tsunami yelled out in rage.
"Well, I guess I will get to work..." Earthquake muttered, repairing the walls and floor.
"Earthquake, why do you work so hard, especially since it is unnecassary?" Firestorm asked Earthquake.
"Unnecassary?" She asked, puzzled.
"Yes, this base can clean, repair, and even rebuild itself.
"That is awesome!" She exclaimed.
"COMPUTER, RESTORE MAIN COMPOUND A!" Firestorm shouted at the ceiling, and smiled as Earthquakes expression went from one of awe to amazement as she watched the base repair itself.
"So how did he get in? And furthermore, who was it?" Tsunami asked, looking worried.
"We aren't sure how he got in, but we definiatly know who he is....He is Death." Hurricane told her, glancing down the hallway for a brief second."Winds of Tracking." he whispered, as an imp hiding in the hallway dissapeared.
"What was it?" Blitzkreig said, taking Hurricane's hand.
"I...dont know..." he told her.
"Everyone, I know how he found out where we are.Now all we have to do is track it and-" He didn't get to finish, however, when Tsunami interrupted him.
"Wait a minute...Did you just say DEATH?" She asked him, shuddering.
"Yes, as in the Grim Reaper, Charon the ferry man, or the Fourth horseman of the apocolypse." He replied grimly.
"Oh, Damn!" Earthquake half-shouted.
"Ya, anyway, it seems he needs a...sort of human skin to be on this world without being caught, and that is his advantage and disadvantage." Him and Blitzkreig explained.
"How is it both?" Firestorm asked the two.
"Well,The advantage is that he can look like anyone, and the disadvantage is that he actually feels pain while in that body." Blitzkreig told them.
"So if we he doesn't seperate his soul from the body, then we have a chance?" Asked Tsunami. "No, because no matter how much damage he takes, He cannot die, as he is Death,so now the only thing we need to figure out is how do we kill Death? How do we stop something that the world needs?" Hurricane told the group, moving closer to the door."We must move quickly if we are to catch the imp in time." He said, his lower half almost instantly covered in a 'tornado'. "What imp?" The others all asked in almost perfect unision. "The imp that has been sneaking in here for a little longer then a month, and telling his boss, Death, how to get in and where it is." he explained, closing his eyes, as the rest of his body became encased in swirling winds, until he dissapeared. "Where did he go?" Blitzkreig whispered. "I am still here, I have simply evaporated into the wind, to go faster." he explained. "How do we keep up?" asked Tsunami. "You....don't, actually, I am going to find him and then summon you, However, when you are summoned, I want you all to be in your speed form, encased in your elements." were the last words from his 'mouth' as he floated out the door, into the sky. "So do any of you know WHY we can control these elements?" Earthquaqe asked the others a week later, as they were sitting in the main room, on a very large 'bed' they used instead of a couch.
"Well....Hurricane and I developed a theory a couple months ago...." Firestorm muttered, his arms crossed.
"Hurry up then, share!" Tsunami badgered him.
"We think that during birth, or in those other circumstances, we had a portion of our brain unlocked, allowing us to control certain atoms." He filled them in.
"Wait, what do you mean 'unlocked'?" she inquired.
"Well, an average person only uses 10% of his or her brain, and a genius uses only 15%..." he told her.
"Oh....well....what if we-" she was cut short however, as a tornado suddenly started to form in the middle of the room.
"Well then everyone, speed forms!" Blitzkreig shouted, her entire body being enveloped on electricity.
The others quickley followed suit, and stepped into the tornado, only to reappear in a dark, and slightly damp cell.
"Where are we?" Tsunami whispered.
"I have no idea...Hurr, where are you?" Blitzkreig shout-whispered.
"Hello everybody. Your precious Hurricane is busy right now, But I think I can help you!" said a strange voice, as a light quickley flashed into existance, and they realized they were in a courtroom. A king's courtroom to be exact. A figure dressed in a very expensive white suit with a blood red tie was sitting on the throne.
"Aaaagh....Blitzzy....how are you?" He asked with a smirk and slight chuckle.
"Who is that guy? Do you know him or something?" Tsunami whispered to Blitzkreig.
"That.....is Death." She said full out. No point in whispering in front of the man who controlled your fate.
"Holy crap....Well, What do you want with us?" Tsunami Asked Death.
"Nothing...Well, it's not what I want, it's what He wants." Death said, cheerfully as ever.
"Whose he? Satan?" Blitz asked him.
"Satan? No my friend, I do not associate myself with him..." Death told them with a glare.
"Then who?" They all badgered him.
"Nevermind that now....Pulse, get in here!" He barked. HE looked around cheerfully, humming a tune until a young girl, around 11-12 years old entered the room.
"Yes, master?" She asked him, looking at him with total awe and respect in her eyes.
"I need you to replay Hurricane's message for me." He told her with a smile that almost resembled compassion.
"Of course...I didn't realize they were here." As she said this, she began to glow blue, then purple. Suddenly her mouth opened and a white light shone out of it, as well as her eyes. Suddenly, Hurricane's voice was the only thing they could hear.
"Guy's, It's me. Death isn't our enemy here. Ask him to help you. I knew him once a long time ago. You need to find a way to Jupiter. That's where I am right now. Yes, I do realize that it is in outer space, and your powers won't work, Firestorm. However, in the core of the planet there is a civilization that is far advanced to our own. Yes, I am talking about aliens. Now go forth, ask Death to help you. Don't be afraid of him." With that, a crackle of static ended the message.
"Well guys, are you going to ask me or not?" Death asked them with a light chuckle after a few minutes of akward silence.
"Death....w-w-will you help us?" Blitzkreig asked, stammering slightly.
"Agh, that's better. Of course I will. Take these." he muttered, reaching under his robe and pulling out 5 amulets."These shall let you stay under my radar, and so whatever happens, you cannot die, isn't that wonderful?" He grinned.
"Yes...wonderful..." They all breathed. As they put the necklaces on, they all glowed a different color, matching their attributes.
"What was that for?" Firestorm asked, although a theory had already formed in his mind.
"That was so the amulets will only work for you. They have sealed your souls in the amulets. Now give them back." Death said, almost sternly.
"Why?" Earthquake asked with her eyebrows raised.
"If the amulets are destroyed, you die. However, If I am protecting them, you can't die, get it?" He explained to them, and smiled when they all nodded. "Pulse, contact Hurricane, tell him now." He told her. She nodded, and began glowing again, except this time from blue to a translucent blue. She began relaying the message, except they knew he could hear it from the echo of her voice, and how deep it was.
As she changed back to normal, she nodded to Death.
"Now, as there was no time earlier, allow me to introduce my companion. This is Pulse. She is like you six, except He created her." He explained to them."Unless you are moron's, she can obviously control sound. She can relay messages, or send them on her own, all across the infinite vasts of space. She is also my companion, and best friend." He said all of this with a cheery smile and heartfelt look towards her.
"So...she can relay messages back and forth from the universe? Can she pick up sounds as well? Almost like a radio?" As soon as the words left her mouth, Tsunami regretted it.
"No, I am not a radio, I am simply a....how should I say this?" She pondered that in her head for a while."Well im not sure...except im not a radio!" She shouted this, and her voice reached such a high pitch that Tsunami's ears started to bleed, and she lost vision in both of her eyes. The others remained fine however, because Pulse kept the sound away from them.
"Aaagh make it stop!!" Tsunami shouted, covering her ears.
"Enough!" Death commanded, and waved his hand. Tsunamis ears stopped bleeding and she regained her vision."Now, be gone!" He shouted, as a black hole appeared in front of him and sucked them in.
"Blitzy, I shall help you all only because of our past. After this you must pay me for any favours.. And not in cash..." He muttered darkly, knowing they could still hear them, because of Pulse.
"In ten days time, go after them if they have not returned.Tell them I am sorry for the base, and the scare. Excplain to them why I must keep killing, and why I killed those people. Make them see the justice in it.Dont leave me in the dust." As he gave her the message a young boy in a similiar black cloak entered the room, with the kanji for 'Balance' on his back.
"Aaagh, Josh, excellent, you made it. Now then, time for you to trade in your robes for mine, and become me. The student becomes the teacher as it were. I'm going to miss you and Pulse. I mean it." These were his last words as he started to crumble. His clothes burned quickley and the ash became his cloak. It fell to the ground, the only thing remaining of him. The boy named Josh walked over to it and donned it. His skin melted quickly, the bones being the only things remaining. He raised his right arm, and a large staff appeared in it. He closed his eyes, and the trademark blade of the scythe appeared in a burst of black fire. The new Death has arrived!
In Jupiter, for the city was in the core, Hurricane was in a discussion with a large elfen man with green hair and an even larger tri-barrel gun resting on a holster on his side.
"AAAAGH!" The others shouted as the portal appeared and they fell out of it in front of the two.
"Are you guys ok?" He asked them with true sincerity. "Yeah we're-what the hell?" Firestorm asked him, looking around. They were in an average earth looking city, except the sky was red and the buildings were made of a black substance resembling tar.
"Oh, well, This isn't Earth. Instead of bricks and wood, They make stuff out of HellTar, a substance like our Earth tar, except it never hardens, it simply cools. If we heat it up again we can reshape everything. Watch." He pulled a model building out of his robe pockets and told Firestorm to heat it up. It became jell-o like, and he reshaped it into a dagger. "Now Tsunami, cool it off." and as she sprayed water on it from a nearby lake, it took on a bluish hue. He threw it at a nearby building and it stuck in."As you can see, It has taken on the true properties of a dagger, which is another of it's abilities. If we shape it well, It can actually become that object, not just a keen resemblence." He explained to them.
"What about me?" The elfen man asked Hurricane in a very deep, but gentle voice.
"I was coming to you. This is Rippah, a local warrior who can help us with our mission." He introduced the man with a nudge in his direction.
"And what is our mission?" Firestorm asked clinically, arms crossed.
"Agh, we must do two things. Find the arrowhead, and unlock the gates of Hell, releasing the other three horseman of the apocolypse." He informed the group of element manipulators."Now I want each of you to go to a HellTar pool, and create a weapon. Don't worry about how it looks, I just want the rough image of it. I shall get a professional sculpter to finish it later. The pool is that way. Go to it gang!" He finished off with a grin, and turned back to Rippah.
"Now, Are you sure you know how to get back to Earth right?" He asked Rippah.
"Yes, yes I know....except...."He looked down at his feet. Unbelieveably, this beast of a sentient being was embaressed!
"Yes?" Hurricane asked, one eyebrow raised quizzically.
"It wont send you to the surface, only the core!" He answered quietly, looking up innocently.
"Oh, that's fine, we have Firestorm and Tsunami, Fire and Water manipulators. They can protect us!" He explained distractedly.
"Hey Hurr! We are back with our weapons!!" Called out an excited Blitzkreig. She ran up to him and showed him the mantra's she carried. They were elegently designed, and both had lightning bolts running up and down them.Firestorm showed him his gun. It looked like a desert eagle, except it shot blasts of fire.Tsunami pulled out a water whip and struck the building with it. Earthquake had a large, simple pole with arrowheads on the end. They all threw them in a pile at Hurricane's command.
"Excellent work guys...really! They all look great! Rippah, Do it!" He shouted, as Rippah pulled out his gun, and pointed it at their pile of weapons. He fired, and they all glowed different colors, before exploding.
"Why!!" Tsunami cried, jumping at the pile.
"I made them yours."He answered simply. He held out his hand and concentrated. Suddenly the wind gathered in it and an exotic looking sword appeared. The handle had a large diamond at the bottom, and extended into a wolf's head, with the blade coming out of it's open mouth. It's eye was replaced with a diamond as well. The fangs were all carved out of a yellow-bluish stone, resembling lightning's color. The blade was basic long blade, except it was laced with 3 centimetre diamond. It had Hurricane's name on it in kanji, and a diamond shape was carved at the very bottom. "You can summon them if you focus your powers into the shape of it. However, we are going to personalize them first." He said, ordering them to summon their weapons. They complied, although it took longer then he expected to summon them right.
It took them over two hours to get them personalized right, then Rippah revealed that he could manipulate HellTar, just like they could manipulate their respected element. He then looked at their now customized weaponry designs and transformed their real weapons so they had the desired looks. He then blasted them with his gun once more, and stepped back so Hurricane could take over.
"Now, try to summon them. After a while, they should get easier and easier."
He ordered. As soon as their weaponry was down, they made two more things-motorcycles and jetboards. The jetboards allowed them to hover and fly at incredible speeds-with practice!
Hurricane then pulled a necklace out from his robe with a very dark purple, almost black stone in the middle. Black lightning coursed through it, and it appeared cloudy on the inside.
"Earth's core!" He shouted as the necklace rose in the air, and started to swirl until a black hole appeared."Again, thanks for the portal Rippah. We will come back to help you when this is finished." Hurricane said over his shoulder as he stepped through the portal. "How did you get that?" Firestorm asked quickly, knowing it was a screamer, an item of lore that could rip open a portal anywhere in the universe.
"Death gave it to me after I ran some errands for him." He replied with a shudder.
