Fairy Dream
Where… Where am I? So warm… A small
drop hit her cheek. Anna Jane's eyes wearily blinked. She found
herself floating. She smiled to herself.
I'm flying!
“Not quite!”
“Huh?” Her eyes shifted around the cloudy pink. A girl with bright
pink wings floated in front of her. Her white dress floated down to
her small ankles.
“Who are you?” Anna Jane asked. The other girl giggled.
“I'm a fairy!” she said. Anna Jane blinked at first.
“Huh?” she asked. The fairy grinned.
“What's your name?” she asked.
“Anna Jane,” the human girl said. The fairy twirled around.
“Nice to meet you!” she shouted. “Let's be friends!”
“Okay…” Anna Jane said. “Where are we?”
“My world!” the fairy said.
“And where is that?”
“Everywhere!”
“How did I get here?”
“Does it matter?”
“Well… yeah.”
Anna Jane? Anna Jane? The human girl
turned her head.
“What was that?” I asked.
“Nothing,” the fairy said. “Let's play!” Anna Jane looked
confused.
“Play? Play what?” she asked. The fairy threw up her hands,
smiling.
“Let's play! Let's play!” she said. The fairy grabbed her by the
hands. The two began flying away.
“Whoa!” Anna Jane said. “Slow down! You're hurting my arm!” The
fairy giggled.
---------
“Anna Jane! Anna Jane! AJ! AJ! AJ!” Logan shouted, shaking Anna
Jane's shoulder. No response.
“Wake up! Wake up!” he shouted. He looked at Vivian in a panic. The
geisha shook her head. The cowboy bit his lip.
“Not good!” he said. “This is not good.” Vivian pinched Anna Jane's
hand. Still nothing.
“What do we do?” Logan asked. The geisha shrugged and shook her
head. Logan went back to shaking her.
“AJ! AJ!” he shouted. “AJ! AJ! AJ!”
---------
AJ! AJ! AJ!
Anna Jane turned her head.
“What is that?” she asked.
“Nothing!” the fairy lied. “Nothing at all!” They went further into
the pink. Anna Jane made a fact at the fairy.
“I think I should get back, she said.
“Why?” the fairy asked.
“My friends are waiting for me.”
“Friends. They aren't your friends. I'm your friend!”
“What?”
The fairy giggled. “Let's play! Let's play!”
AJ! AJ! AJ!
Anna Jane stopped. The fairy froze.
“What's wrong?” she asked. Anna Jane let go of her hand.
“I'm sorry, I can't,” she said. The fairy gave her a strange
look.
“What do you mean?” she asked. Anna Jane smiled.
“I'm sorry,” she said. “But I can't play with you.” The fairy
looked hurt.
“What do you mean?” she asked. The human girl smiled.
“Sorry, but my friends are waiting,” she said. “Goodbye.” She
turned to leave. The fairy grew angry. Her face turned bright
red.
“You!” she screamed. “You're leaving me?! Nobody leaves me! Come
back here!” But Anna Jane was gone.
--------
Anna Jane jerked her head back.
“Whew!” she said.
“Welcome back,” a man's voice said. “We about lost you there.”
