The Fog
Anna Jane opened her eyes. Everyone had disappeared. She sat up in
a space nothing. The little girl looked around. The warm air calmed
her down. She started to breathe slowly.
“Where am I?” Anna Jane asked.
“We don't have long,” a voice said.
“Huh?
“Listen to me. Take my hand.” Suddenly, a hand darted towards her.
Anna Jane grabbed it as fast as she could. A bright light shot
through her body. The child froze.
When she opened her eyes, she saw a face. But she didn't
scream.
“Please listen,” the face said. “There isn't much time. You are
about to be shot down.” Anna Jane opened her mouth.
“Don't talk. Just listen,” the face said. The little girl closed
her mouth.
“There is a way to save you,” they said. “Just follow the
signal.”
“What signal? Where?” Anna Jane asked.
“Focus on me!” the face said. The child went quiet. The face took a
breath.
“I have to take you back now,” they said. “Just follow my
directions.” Anna nodded. She tightly shut her eyes. Her body felt
like it was on fire. The child sucked in a mouthful of air. Then,
she vanished into the nothing.

Anna Jane opened her eyes. Everything came back. Everyone held on
tight. Boom! Boom! Boom! The gravity of the situation sank in as
George whimpered. That was when she remembered what the voice said.
Anna Jane looked up.
“George! Dive!” she yelled.
“Meep?” the creature asked.
“What?” Sgt. Ripley asked.
“Dive!” Anna Jane shouted.
“Meep!” George shouted. The creature started diving downwards.
Vivian screamed while Anna Jane laughed.
“Meep!” George cried. His tears flew away. Boom! Boom! Anna Jane
clinched her teeth and closed her eyes. She had a guess of what was
coming next. The little girl hoped they would make it in time.
