Aerobattle
The captain stood on the island. He lowered his radio. The monkey
turned and walked to the tower. He blew his whistle. Monkeys popped
their heads up. They jumped into position. The captain climbed into
this post. He looked through his telescope. His eyes widened.
“Fire!” he shouted. The cannons went off in unison.
George flew through the air. Something caught his attention from
below.
“Meep?” he asked.
“What is it, George?” Anna Jane asked.
“Meep! Meep!” the creature said. A giant metal ball flew towards
him. George screamed.
“Meep! Meep! Meep!” he screamed.
“What's wrong?” Anna Jane asked.
“Meep! Meep! Meep!” George shouted. He started flying faster. More
giant metal balls started flying towards him.
“George!” Anna Jane yelled. The creature flew faster. Bullets
started to fly after him.
“What's going on?!” Vivian cried.
“We're under attack!” Sgt. Patel shouted.
“What?!” the geisha asked.
“By whom?” Logan asked. Boom!
“It's from the ground!” Sgt. Ripley yelled. Boom! Boom!
“Meep!” George cried.
“Calm down!” Anna Jane shouted.
“That's not helping!” Logan yelled. Boom! Boom! George closed his
eyes and flew as fast as he could.
“Take cover!” Sgt. Patel shouted. The creature had tears in his
eyes.
---------
The monkeys didn't let up.
“Fire! Fire! Fire!” the captain yelled. Boom! Boom! Nothing they
wanted came down yet.
“Keep firing! Don't let up!” the captain shouted. His voice blended
with the firing. He threw back his head and laughed. The panda army
would be arriving in two days.
---------
The panda commander lowered his radio and turned to his troops.
“Attention!” he shouted. The troops stood up straight.
“Forward, march!” the commander shouted. The army marched forward.
Their commander dialed numbers on his radio. A signal buzzed
through the air. They would be there in two days. By then, they
would be ready for the capture.
--------
Anna Jane's radio crackled on in George's belly.
“Huh?” she asked. The little girl turned her head. Her radio was
just out of reach. She started to hear words. The little girl
reached for the radio. If she could just…
Her fingertips reached the dial. Everything went quiet around her.
Anna Jane lifted her head.
“Hello?” she asked.
“Can you hear me?” a voice asked.
“Yes,” Anna Jane said. The air around her became warm.
