Mimi's eyes fluttered open weakly; her head surged with pain as she regained consciousness. Sitting up with great difficulty, she took in her surroundings, half expecting to be in heaven. However once she saw the pale white confined room, she knew she was in hell.
Feeling around her neck, Mimi found there was a bandage wrapped around her throat, it was extremely uncomfortable but the point was that she was alive. A bag of fresh blood hung neatly beside her, the crimson liquid entered her body through an IV tube inserted into her right arm.
She sighed in relief and relaxed into the bed, at least tried to relax until the vent grill on the floor a few feet from the bed started to shake and creak, then suddenly popped off like a heated corn kernel. “What the hell…” Mimi trailed as she stared at the now opened vent.
As if on cue, Sasha's brunette head appeared out of the vent. Looking around Sasha jumped out and promptly locked the door and pulled the curtain down in front of it. Then she proceeded to dismantle the security camera in the corner of the room “Hey you, rough day huh?” Sasha whispered sitting next to Mimi on the bed.
“You think? Janet nearly fucking killed me!” She exclaimed nearly bursting into tears. This was all just too much for her; she was only a teenager for Pete's sake!
“I know that's why I'm here…” Sasha looking around to make sure they were alone. “I'm busting you out of here.”
Mimi gasped and looked at her in utter disbelief. Sasha just smiled at her and handed her a pile of normal civilian clothes. Sasha helped Mimi pull the IV tube safely out of her arm then turned her back to allow Mimi to dress in privacy. “How are we going to do this Sasha?” Mimi asked as she slipped into the jeans and black t-shirt.
“Just leave it to me…”Sasha grabbed Mimi's arm and pushed her towards the opened vent. Mimi jumped into the large opening, sliding down the dark tube, Sasha quickly followed suit.
With a loud thud Mimi crashed into the vent grill, busting it off and falling onto a carefully placed mat of foam. Sasha quickly crashed out of the tube behind her and giggled as she bounced off the mattress. “Where are we?” Mimi asked, looking around the small, cluttered room.
“The supply closet, due to my good behavior I've been allowed access to this room.” Sasha smiled, Opening the window and pulling the screen out with ease. “I guess this is where we part, jump out this window and run for it!”
Mimi stared at her in utter disbelief, her jaw dropped open out of pure shock. “Why are you doing this for me?”
“You're innocent aren't cha? You don't belong here, especially now that you got some psycho on your case!” Sasha replied dragging Mimi over to the 2nd story window.
“Aren't you coming too?”
Sasha just smiled and shook her head. “I belong here, besides I'll be getting out soon enough, I'll come look you up okay? Now go, and don't get yourself killed!” She proclaimed, practically pushing Mimi out the window and down to the dumpster below.
“Oh gross! Thanks a lot Sasha…” Mimi proclaiming, peeling a discarded piece of fruit off her shirt before crawling out of the Dumpster, shuddering in disgust. A sudden slam of a door alerted Mimi's attention; she looked over towards the exit to the courtyard and saw a guard began patrolling the area. Gulping slight, adrenaline pumped through Mimi's veins, if she was going to get out of here it was now or never. She turned towards the fence and crawled over it swiftly, the moment her feet hit the other side of the fence she took off in a mad dash away from the institution.
After twenty minutes of running purely on the adrenaline rush, Mimi's body gave in to the exhaustion, resulting in her collapsing onto the rough gravel ground. She panted heavily as she remained on the ground, not caring if she was bleeding from the impact. She wasn't even sure where she was going, it didn't matter though, and she just had to get away, away from who ever Scott and Max were and what ever grudge they had against her. Finding the strength to stand up, Mimi finally registered her surroundings; homeless and prostitutes were scattered among the run down strip of buildings. She must have found her way into the dark side of town, definitely not a good thing for a fresh fugitive. “Where am I going to sleep tonight…?” Mimi pondered aloud, though more to herself then anyone else.
As if on cue, a sharp blow to the back of the head caused Mimi to be plunged into dark, finding a place to sleep that night would not be an issue any longer.
