Original Stories Fan Fiction ❯ Demon Prince ❯ Roadblock ( Chapter 6 )
They reached the second safe haven at dusk. Ikara watched Ryo and Lee for a moment and sighed. How could he have been so easily biased? How could he have been so blinded by Levin's propaganda? How could he have been so willingly led by Levin's pleasing speeches? How could he have been so stupid?
"You're different again honey," Lee gasped as Ryo ran his tongue over Lee's groin.
"It's the room. Soon I will be in my true form. My mother told me that I'll resemble the original when I'm fully grown," Ryo said as he spread his wings.
"Aren't you already fully grown?" Ikara inquired.
"Demons have a longer growth rate. My full wingspan hasn't been reached. Oh Lee…" Ryo gasped as Lee massaged his groin.
"You're also longer honey," Lee said as he watched Ryo's actions. "You've grown a lot in two years. I knew there was a reason for me to drool when I first saw you again."
"So what's the difference on your skin? It looks different," Ikara said.
"It's smooth like a snake's skin," D said as he watched Ryo's facial expression.
"So are you a reptile?"
"What? No our skin is just a lot smoother than yours."
"Lee honey…" Ryo gasped as Lee wiped his mouth. Lee kissed his chest and Ryo brought him up to his level. Their lips touched and Lee struggled as Ryo thoroughly probed his mouth. Ryo forced him to stay still as saliva dripped down his chin and onto his neck.
"I should get the bedroom ready," D said and walked out of the room.
Lee yelped in pain as his back hit the floor. Ryo sat on his chest and gazed at him. He folded his wings around Lee and leaned forward to kiss him. Lee gazed up at Ryo and smiled.
"I love you," Ryo whispered.
"I know. Oh Ryo…" Lee said as Ryo put his tongue into Lee's mouth. He pressed his body down onto Lee's and Lee gazed lovingly up into Ryo's deep green eyes.
"The bed is ready my lord," D said as he walked into the room.
Ryo picked Lee up and carried him into the bedroom. He set Lee on the bed and pushed back the blanket. Lee watched him with interest as he gently ran his claws over his chest.
"How much further do we have to go honey?" Lee asked as Ryo lay down on the bed. He glanced at Lee and sighed.
"We're about halfway to the castle," Ryo replied as Lee laid his head on Ryo's chest. Ryo ran his fingers through his hair and sighed. D turned out the light and crawled alongside Ryo. He respectfully kissed Ryo's fingers and pulled up the blanket.
It was clear that they were nearing some sort of evil. Ryo's coldness had grown and Lee was still nursing his wounds from the night before. The trek had been silent for no one had wanted to get on Ryo's bad side, which seemed to be growing as the sky continued to darken. Ryo suddenly stopped and gazed at the roadblock before him. The sentries, hideous looking creatures, hissed warningly at him as he calmly unsheathed his sword.
"I have come to see Levin. Let me pass if you value your life," he said as the captain of the guard stepped forward.
"No one gets in to see Levin stranger. You have dug your own grave by coming here," the creature hissed and Ryo wryly smiled.
"You worked for Niezon. What happened?"
"How…how do you know?"
The creature screamed in pain as Ryo's sword pierced through his flesh. He fell at Ryo's feet and gasped in pain, the sword point sticking plainly out of his back with blood dripping to the ground. The other soldiers had moved a safe distance away, terrified by the fact that they had neither seen nor heard Ryo get off his horse.
"Coward. You stood and watched while Levin took control of the throne. You are also a traitor because you are serving a false king," Ryo hissed as he pulled his sword out of his body.
"Who…who are you?" the captain gasped and Ryo's eyes narrowed.
"I think you know. Are the rest of you willing to die by serving a false king?"
"We were only doing what was ordered," a soldier said and screamed in terror when Ryo appeared next to him pushing the tip of his sword into the soldier's neck.
"Blindly following orders is not an answer," Ryo hissed as he bared his fangs.
"You're…him. We've heard about you."
"Where does your loyalty lie? With Levin or Shorel the one who gave you this planet and all its resources? Following a demon that killed a member of the Shorel family will not be granted mercy when the time comes. Those who try to extinguish the bloodline will die. Killing the bloodline is no way to show gratitude to the one who saved you from extinction. You owe a lot to Shorel."
The soldiers screamed in terror as Ryo's eyes dilated in rage and his cape fell to the ground in tattered shreds. His clothing was ripped, the fabric unable to take the strain of his demon body any longer and the soldiers watched him spread his wings in awe.
"Make your decision now. I don't have time to wait," Ryo commanded as he watched a few soldiers run away in terror. A chorus of guttural screams was uttered as D and Lee lowered their weapons. They flexed their wings as Ryo climbed back onto Nightwing. He gazed at the remaining soldiers and frowned.
"You'd better not turn on me. If you do, I will kill you," Ryo said and walked past the roadblock.
"Levin should definitely know you're coming by now," Ikara commented.
Ryo said nothing as he gazed at the castle in the distance. His eyes darkened as he gazed upon the changes to his home. How dare he? How dare he destroy Ryo's home? Lee pulled up alongside him and Ryo glanced in his direction. Lee opened his mouth to say something then thought better of it.
"What do you want to say?" Ryo asked and Lee looked at him.
"Nothing," Lee replied.
"I'm not going to let you off that easily. What were you going to say?"
"Try to keep things in perspective honey."
"I am keeping things in perspective."
"I feel your anger darling. I don't want you to get Shorel's bloodlust. I don't want you to get killed baby."
Ryo stopped and gazed at Lee. His deep violet eyes were filled with tears and his pupils pulsated with pain. He raised a hand to Lee's face and wiped a tear from his eye. Lee took Ryo's hand and tightly squeezed it. Ryo opened his mouth to say something and Lee tightly embraced him. Ryo hesitantly placed his arms around Lee's waist. Lee's sobs were muffled as Ryo comfortingly stroked his wings as Lee whimpered sadly.
"Calm down honey. Everything will be fine. You knew this was coming. You know this is what I have to do. I can't ignore the bloodline. I have to put this right. If you can't handle this Lee, I understand," Ryo said and Lee stared up at him, tears blurring his vision.
"Don't you think I can handle it?" he asked.
"Not the way you're acting now honey. Besides as General Kana taught me, I cannot go into a battle protecting something. If I go into battle with other things on my mind, then I will truly be weak. The battle that is coming is the fight that I've been preparing for all this time. If I get the bloodlust, as some legends call it, may it serve me well."
"I'm just concerned for you."
"I appreciate that but I can't have you acting like this. Now are you going to continue or are you going to drop out?"
"I can't leave you Ryoshan darling."
"All right then. It's settled. You're continuing."
He kissed Lee passionately and Lee shut his eyes as he felt Ryo probe his mouth. Ryo pulled away and gazed at him. It was true that he loved Lee and he was sure that his presence would help his odds in battle but Ryo could not protect Lee. He had to enter this fight with nothing holding him back. He had everything to gain from winning the battle but very little to lose if he lost the fight.
"I'm glad you're staying honey," he whispered and turned away. "Let's go."
The castle courtyard was deserted when they reached it. Ryo led them to the stable where they safely housed their horses. Ryo gazed silently out the window, searching for any signs of life. He felt Lee's hands on his wings and smiled. He still was concerned about Ryo's safety. He wished he could say something to comfort Lee, but Lee had a habit of worrying too much.
"So what are we going to do now?" Ikara asked and Ryo looked at him.
"We're going in. It would be in your best interest not to question the décor once we get inside. Stop it Lee," Ryo said and Lee drew back.
"I'm sorry honey. It's just that…" Lee started to say when Ryo placed his fingers on his mouth.
"Look, you can be concerned. Just don't let it interfere with your ability to function. This is where I'm really going to need you but I need you in top form. What are you doing D?"
"There's someone in here," D said as his ears twitched intently.
"Where?" Ryo asked.
"Right…here!"
"Please don't hurt me!" a small creature with long pointed ears whimpered.
"Set him down D. Who are you?" Ryo asked and the creature looked up at him and then at Nightwing.
"You're Ryo. You've grown a lot. So has Nightwing. I remember when he was just a little colt."
"Bo the stable keeper. Why were you hiding?"
"I thought you were some of Levin's followers. We thought you were dead."
"Who's we?" Ikara inquired.
"The other servants," Lee explained. "Not all of us were able to escape, you see."
"Where is Levin?" Ryo asked.
"In the throne room. You can go in the servant's entrance in the kitchen," Bo said.
"Thank you for the information. Come on."
"I'll look after the horses."
"Ryo…" Lee said and Ryo looked at him.
"What now?" he asked.
"Nothing."
"Are you going to start sulking again?"
"No."
"Lee I know your feelings are strong but if you're going to act like this…"
"I'm sorry darling. I just can't suppress these feelings."
"You're making this difficult for me."
