Chapter 1- Worlds Meet
He rolled his eyes as two girls, obviously freshmen by their small size and loud voices, walked in front of him at a snail's speed. He was practically moping behind them, begging in his head that they would speed up. He couldn't go around because he knew he'd cause a traffic jam, probably crash into some senior and get his ass kicked. The hallways are like a highway, you have to stay in the right lane or get pulverized by the idiots that don't know how to watch the road.
On one account, he'd actually been completely knocked over by some oversized girl that looked like she belonged on the football team, or in jail. After that he was accused of being the loser he was, and had his stuff kicked all over the hallway. He lost a notebook that day, and a homework page for history class.
He was just passing an intersection, only a few feet away from his class when he felt his arm grabbed, and he was harshly yanked behind a pop machine. He mentally cursed himself when he was slammed against the wall, staring into a pair of evil grey eyes. Tony Reynolds is evil. He is the definition of evil because he has this never-ending obsession with making Jason late to class. The worst part is he's not even aware of the fact that he's ruining a kid's life every time he pulls him over to ask for something dumb like answers on a quiz.
“Dude, I need your brain!” Tony poked his forehead. Jason rolled his eyes and tried jerking away, but Tony held him back. “Come on, don't be like that,” He said with a hint of threat in his voice. “I have a homework page due the period after next, all right? I don't know like, any of the answers. I was wondering if you could do it and then bring it to me before sixth period?” He had innocence in his eyes, but there was always that glint of evil. It was a look that said `I'm smiling so sweetly because I'm pretending to be your friend so I actually have a tad of a chance to pass the grade.' Well, maybe not quite, but that's what it said to Jason.
“Tony, I have art next period, I can't do homework in art,” Jason protested. “…Not to mention your homework,” He grumbled.
“But you're my Jesus,” Tony pouted. “My savoir, the reason I actually passed my sophomore year, pretty please?” He wined. “I'll be your best friend,” Oh, was it bribing with lies time already?
“You say that every day,” Jason groaned. “Besides, you don't even like me,” He just knew that the bell was going to ring any minute, but he was stuck where he was.
“I like you… I just… um… so what if I don't like you!” Tony scowled, feeling like he'd been caught. “Just… just… please?” Now it was begging time, this is the time when Jason gives into the fact that if he doesn't say yes, he'll get a detention.
“All right, fine,” Jason gave in. Tony shoved the homework page in Jason's chest and gave him a pat on the shoulder.
“Yay!” He exclaimed and then practically skipped away. “I owe you one!” Jason watched Tony hop off like a happy little girl. He sighed to himself, rubbing the back of his neck and looking the paper over. It was Geometry, good, he'd probably be able to finish it before the art teacher noticed he wasn't doing art.
He stalked of toward his next class, just barely stepping in before the bell rang.
“Shouldn't let him take advantage of you like that,” Jason looked up to see one Shane Fulmer looking at him, smirking like some fucking tiger that spotted a deer. “I want him to fail the year so he learns his lesson,” He was leaning against the table all cool like, he had baggy red pants on that clung to his hips. And a black shirt with some dumb joke written across it, all he needed was a cigarette and he'd look like the ideal criminal. Jason scoffed and stalked off to his seat, holding the piece of paper in his hand. He really couldn't get the joke on Shane's shirt out of his head, only because he didn't get it.
I was before it was cool. It said, this being written in rainbow colored letters. After thinking it over for only a moment he shrugged and turned back to the table where he started answering the questions on Tony's math homework. It was easy shit, which made him laugh mentally, apparently Tony can't do easy shit.
“All right, everyone,” Mrs. Twigger, the art teacher began. “Today we're starting a new project. If you haven't finished the monochromatic that's fine, you still get a grade for what you have done. This one's going to be more personal. For now, I just want you to think about something you stand for, and then think of some sort of symbol that represents it,” She explained. There were giggles and whispers from the table near the door, the one where Shane sat with pretty much all the other seniors in the class.
“For instance,” Mrs. Twigger began, ignoring the discussions that students had begun concerning her project idea. “If I were a strong supporter of the peace, I'd maybe draw a dove and a peace sign,” She explained. A hand shot up from the senior's table and Mrs. Twigger acknowledged it.
“What about gay pride?” Shane asked, as if it were some sort of announcement. Jason almost gagged and accidentally drew a large line of pen ink across the paper. All of the sudden he understood the meaning of what was written on Shane's shirt.
“That would be fine,” Mrs. Twigger said in a somewhat unsure tone.
“You're so gay,” Mark kicked Shane under the table playfully with a goofy grin spread over his face. Jason stared at them, his mouth a gape, since when are there gay people at Kenton High!
“That I am, Mark dear,” Shane smirked and kicked him back. His brown eyes met a pair of wide, frightful blue ones and he licked his lip in a suggestive way. Jason looked down immediately and gulped, turning back to finish Tony's homework. He felt a slight burning in his cheeks and wondered why he was blushing.
Jason met his friend Clark after art class, having a very important question to ask of him.
“Clark,” He said once standing next to Clark's locker. “Did you know that there are gay and bisexual people in this school!” He practically shouted it. He got a lot of strange looks, some humored, some insulted, and he hid his face out of fear that he offended someone big and scary.
“Uh, yeah, duh,” Clark said idly. He shut his locker and leaned on it, holding his Science book in his arms, pressed against his chest.
“Well, I didn't! It's kind of weird don't you think, I mean, I was starting to think people like that didn't even exist. Then all of the sudden that Shane kid just comes out to the whole art class, and he's wearing this shirt…” Jason shook his head in disapproval and sighed.
“Shane Fulmer?” Clark suddenly perked up, a bit of hope showing in both his eyes and voice expression. Jason made mental note of this before Clark noticed his unneeded excitement and turned away.
“Yeah that one,” Jason replied. “I mean, I don't have a problem with it or anything, but I just… it's so sudden,” He saw Tony coming toward him, and speak of the devil Shane was right next to him, they weren't holding hands or anything but they were pretty damn close. Jason couldn't help but suddenly wonder if they were dating or something.
“You don't?” Clark asked, surprise apparent in his voice. Jason didn't get a chance to answer before Shane and Tony were standing right there, Tony holding out his hand expectantly. Jason pulled the finished geometry homework from his folder and placed it in Tony's hand. He stared almost horrified at Shane's shirt as Tony looked it over.
“Good good,” Tony patted Jason on the shoulder. “What's the big line for?” He asked.
“Oh, that was when…” Jason almost blurted out the reason and then his eyes met Shane's and he stopped. Tony observed the seen before him and then read Shane's shirt.
“Shane!” He gasped, pointing at the words. “You can't wear shirts like that!” He wasn't serious, however, this was only obvious to Shane.
“Why not,” Shane played along, planting his hands on his hips.
“You scare the little virgin people!” Tony eyed Clark and Jason. “You know the little virgin people can't take sexual suggestiveness like that!” He exclaimed, pathetically faking a sort of British accent.
“Ah, the poor little virgin people, I hates to harm their innocent eyes with my profanities. Shall I remove it?” Shane grabbed his shirt by the rim as if he were going to pull it up. Clark's eyes widened and his cheeks turned red.
“Oh yes! You must,” Tony agreed. “I'll help you!” He grabbed the shirt too and tugged it upward so that a glimpse of Shane's tanned stomach was visible. Jason was about to protest when a loud obnoxious female voice echoed through the hallway.
“Hey!” The girl with purple hair yelled at them. “You two! Take it to the janitor's closet!” She threw a pencil and it hit Tony in the head. Tony laughed and turned to her, sticking up his middle finger. Shane straightened his shirt.
“Fuck you, Spooner, you know I'm straight as a pencil!” He shouted with an obvious joke in his voice. Shane handed his books off to Clark who took them willingly. Shane wrapped his arms around Tony's neck, holding a blue pencil in front of his friend's face.
“What the hell,” Tony looked at it a moment. Shane buried his face in Tony's hair and slowly started bending the pencil, something it was obviously made for. Tony glared as it was bent into a circle and then jerked away with he felt lips on his ear.
“Rape!” He yelled and ran off down the hallway, sliding into a classroom. “Imma be late!” He waved once in the room and Shane rolled his eyes, waving back. Both Clark and Jason were frozen there, staring as if they were watching a horror movie.
“See-ya Clark, Jason,” Shane put a suggestive emphasis on the second name and then saluted them, walking off down the hallway.
“Bye!” Clark shouted all of the sudden, once Shane was already a few yards away. He heard it though, he looked back and smiled, winking before turning into a classroom, empty handed.
“Oh shit!” Clark looked down at his arms, he still had Shane's books. “I have to give them back!” Clark took a few steps in the direction Shane went but Jason grabbed him and pulled him back.
“The bell's about to ring, give them to him next period,” Jason said. Clark looked down at the two books of Shane's that he was holding. One of them was a history book and the other a planner, he shrugged and nodded to himself.
“See-ya later,” Jason waved before they parted to go to different classes.
-------------------------------------------------------------- --
“Hmm, I think you should ask him out,” Marsh said. “If he's straight then whatever, it's worth a shot,” He leaned back in his chair, putting his arms behind his head.
“Oh hell, he sure has hell has the hots for Shane, you should've seen him. He's probably a closet case,” Tony shrugged. “But don't ask him out, seduce him into bed and then forget about him, he's not worth dating,” He said. Shane watched his target from across the room, he was sitting with Jason and some other sophomore named Teresa.
“Clarks cool,” Raj argued.
“You have no right to judge what cool is, you weird-assed nature boy,” Tony teased.
“Beside the point, Tony, not all of us are pimps like you, or shall I say whores like you,” Shane smirked.
“It doesn't really matter whether Shane likes him or not, I think,” Carly began. “He's obviously just using him to get to the other one,”
“Who, Jason?” Raj's voice perked up.
“That's completely untrue, Carly, I don't use people,” Shane said calmly and crossed his arms.
“Are you under the impression that Clark is an alien, then?” Carly picked at her nails, wearing a knowing smile. “We all know that's what you're up to,” She winked. Shane glared at her but said nothing, only denying it with his eyes this time.
“Pff you're a whore,” Tony grumbled under his breath. “Everyone knows you make out with Chase in the bathroom during ninth period study hall. If you had a boyfriend, you wouldn't get to do that,” He reminded.
“Yes I could, it's called cheating,” Shane said proudly. There were snickers from around the table. “I mean, not that I'm going to cheat, but you know,” He justified. “I don't use people,” He repeated.
“I agree with Tony,” Raj smirked. “You're a whore,”
“What's wrong with being a whore?” Carly pouted. She had her boots rested on the table and she was leaning back in her seat, arms crossed over her stomach.
“STDs, Car, STDs,” Shane teased. Carly rolled her eyes. “Not to mention when you're a girl you can get pregnant, I can fuck any clean boy in the world without a condom and not have to worry about anything. The beauty of being gay,” He smirked.
“Hmm, I prefer dirty boys,” Marsh wore a thoughtful smile. “Dirty boys and naughty girls, Mmmmnmmm,” He let out an overdramatic sigh.
“Mhm, remember when I walked in on you getting fucked in the ass by this one…” Tony jerked a thumb at Shane who smiled, feeling accomplished. “… That was precious,” He laughed.
“One time thing,” Marsh stuck his nose up. “Doesn't even come close to the fact that you've fucked more girls in this school than Mark and I put together,” He kicked Tony under the table.
“I've fucked more girls than all you put together,” Carly chimed. “It's the woman's touch, and the strap on dildo,” She chirped.
“No, it's because you'd go down on Mrs. Kline for a quarter so you can get a tampon for your female abnormalities,” Mark grinned. Laughter broke out among those at the table as Carly threw a French-fry at Mark's face.
-------------------------------------------------------------- --
“Is anyone else bothered by the fact that Raj ditched us for the weird-ass senior people over there?” Jason popped a fry into his mouth, glaring at the group of upperclassmen as the girl with the purple hair started seemingly trying to molest the blond boy next to her.
“Bothered, but not surprised,” Teresa sighed “It was bound to happen sooner or later,” She scooped up a spoonful of applesauce and stuck it into her mouth. Both Jason and Clark gave her a confused look.
“Why?” Clark scoffed, basically squeaking it out due to the hot sauce he'd previously eaten.
Teresa sighed and picked up her bottle of water, bringing it to her lips but not taking a sip. “It was supposed to be a secret,” She downed a third of the bottle. “Raj told me not to tell you guys because you wouldn't understand, I said I wouldn't, because he's my friend and all, you know? But I guess now that he hasn't spoken to me for two weeks means we're not friends anymore,” She looked down at her food, stirring the peas around on the tray as if she'd suddenly lost her appetite.
“Tell us what?” Jason glared. Raj had been his friend too, a very good friend, he didn't like to be treated as one who couldn't be trusted.
“Raj is Shane's ex-boyfriend,” Teresa put the tip of her pizza in her mouth to have an excuse to deny answering any confrontation immediately.
“What?” Jason slammed a fist down on the table. “Raj is gay too?” He leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms, glaring at nothing in particular and throwing a fit inside his mind. He wouldn't have had a problem with it if Raj had just told him But, four years of friendship, four years of Raj looking upon him as untrustworthy. It hurt, and it pissed him off even more so.
“Who the hell else is just going to randomly pop out of the closet at me!” Jason mumbled. Clark, who had been in the middle of taking a drink from his milk carton, began choking when Jason said this. He was simply watched with interest by the other two at the table before he finally stopped his gagging and choking
“Jason,” Teresa began slowly. “You're kind of a scary person to come out to, you know, you're judgmental, and…” Teresa suddenly realized that she was getting the death glare from her friend and swallowed, staring down at her food once more.
“How am I scary? I'm not judgmental,” He scowled. “And if that's the case, why didn't he come out to Clark?”
“He did,” Clark squeaked. Jason's jaw fell open and he turned to Clark. “He didn't tell me he was going out with Shane, I didn't even know Shane was… well, but he told me he was gay,” Clark explained.
“But Raj is ugly!” Jason pounded his hands on the table. Both Teresa and Clark were now staring at him like he'd just sworn death on all newborn babies. “I- I mean… that's not what I meant,” He ran a hand through his hair. “Why didn't anyone tell me anything? Why am I the odd man out?” He violently stuck a fry in his ketchup and shoved it in his mouth. The three were silent for the next five minutes, just eating their food and giving each other nervous looks when they felt no one was looking.
“Well,” Jason stood up with the intention of throwing his plate away once he'd finished his fries. “Is there anything else I should know, any other big secrets you're all keeping from me?” He paused and gave them both a questioning eye. Clark mumbled something inaudible under his breath and Teresa stared at him, shaking her head back and forth as if she was disapproving of what he'd said.
“What's that?” Jason nudged his friend with his elbow.
“Nothing,” Clark sighed. Jason stared down at him for a moment, eventually stalking off toward the garbage can. After throwing his plate away he went over to the lunch supervisor and asked to use the bathroom. He was given a pass and he headed out of the cafeteria toward the men's room.
-------------------------------------------------------------- --
“Come on, Shane, ask him out. I you don't now there might not be another chance for a while,” Marsh gave Shane a pat on the shoulder.
“I didn't know you cared so much,” Shane smirked in reply.
“I don't, I just want to eat your chips while you're gone,” Marsh reached in front of Shane and snatched a chip from his bag. Shane rolled his eyes, uninterested by the robbery that had gone on under his nose inside his chip bag. He bit his lip, watching Jason get up from his seat and throw his things away.
“Go on Shane, he's just got that girl with him now, it's a good time,” Tony nudged him. Shane nodded, already having decided this, and got up from his seat, eyes fixed on his target as he casually walked over to the table where Clark and Teresa sat.
“She'll probably spray him with pepper spray before he gets a word out,” Carly grinned, watching Shane has he went over to them. Mark chuckled and nodded in agreement. Raj crossed his arms and sighed, Shane just had to leave him with the morons.
“Lowerclassmen,” Marsh sighed. “What are we gonna do with `em?” He turned Shane's beg of chips toward him and took a handful of them.
“We could eat `em,” Tony snatched a chip from Marsh's hand and popped it in his mouth.
“That was my chip, yo,” Marsh growled, looking at though he were ready to fight to the death for his Dorito.
“No, it was Shane's, and he likes me better than you, so ha,” Tony stuck his tongue out and Marsh just scowled, shoving the rest of the chips into his mouth.
-------------------------------------------------------------- --
Shane pushed his hair into place, using his dull reflection in the window beside him to check his appearance as he passed it. He scanned his own body with his eyes to make sure everything was in proportion. He slowed his pace to tug his pants down a little lower on his hips so that some of the skin on his lower stomach was just barely showing. He put a little swing and bounce into his walk and then couldn't help but wink at himself. Even with the inefficient reflection that the window gave him, he wanted nothing more than to clone himself and then fuck that clone all the way to the Pacific. He smirked when he was satisfied with his appearance and then turned away, heading straight toward where Clark and Teresa sat.
Shane liked the way that neither of the younger kids noticed him until he was right next to Clark, that or they were both pretending not to. Either way, he liked the sort of sneaky predatory feeling it gave him.
“Hey,” He whispered huskily as he pulled out a chair, lips just a little too close to Clarks ear to be considered a mere friendly action. Clark all but froze when he felt the tiny, hardly noticeable brush of his crush's lips upon his ear. He slowly turned his head to look at the boy next to him.
“H-hi,” He managed to stutter out before gathering himself together. “What are you doing here?” He was trying hard to keep from getting over excited by the situation, but Shane saw right through that. He figured this was going to be a lot easier than he originally thought.
“Nothin', just thought I'd drop by and say hello to the pretty little sophomore people,” Shane poked Clark's nose and smirked when the boy's cheeks turned bright red. He watched his target's breath pick up and a pink tongue slip nervously between his teeth and wet a pair of large pale lips.
Teresa just stared, bothered by the direction that the scene before her was heading.
“Where's your friend?” Shane scooted his chair over so that its side touched the edge of Clark's seat. “The cute pale brunette with the pretty blue eyes,” He casually draped his arm over Clark's shoulder, letting their thighs brush.
“Um, he's in the bathroom,” Clark gulped, discouraged that Shane would even give a shit where Jason was. Still, just the thought of having that lean, tanned body next to him, so close, made him stir.
“Shame,” Shane shrugged. He daringly leaned over and touched his lips gingerly to Clark's ear, letting his warm breath flow over the chilled skin. “So,” he began, “I was thinking you and me could go out sometime? Dinner, maybe?” His hand found it's way to Clark's thigh and he gave it a little squeeze, confident in getting a positive reaction.
Clark was bright red now, and watching quietly, Teresa knew exactly what was happening under the table.
“S-sure,” Clark swallowed. “I mean, yes, I'd love to, what time? Or… day?” He felt like a moron, but he blamed Shane for jinxing him with his sex-like charm.
“Friday, eight o'clock?” Shane pulled back to a less suggestive distance. Clark nodded quickly, not sure if he had other plans Friday, and not really caring either.
“Good,” Shane leaned forward once more and placed a kiss, one that was far from chaste, on Clark's cheek. “See-ya then,” He winked, and with that he stood up to leave. Clark was moved just by the softness of Shane's amazing lips against his cheek. He couldn't imagine what they would have felt like if they moved against his own. God that boy was talented.
Jason was just walking back into the lunchroom when he was Shane getting up from his seat. He felt dirty knowing he once had plans to sit in that chair. Shane smiled at him as they passed each other on their way back to their own tables, Jason just scowled, wondering what would have made Shane Fulmer, basically head of the senior rejects, visit his humble table of sophomore losers. He couldn't help but look at Shane's shirt again.
I was before it was cool.
When the hell did it become cool? It was still frowned upon by the majority of society, then again so were most other teenage trends. He really didn't mind the discovery of homosexuals existing in his school, that was until at the same time they all started becoming a part of his life. For all he knew, Teresa could all of the sudden come out as a lesbian, or Clark could be gay…
…wait a minute.

A/n- :D Chapter one! This is a re-write of a story I finished recently… unfortunately after I finished it I realized how utterly dumb and senseless it was so I decided to start over, hooray! This one is extremely different from the last one, the characters are the same, the plot is basically the same, but things roll into place in a completely different way. So, that being said, I wouldn't read the original if you haven't already, in my eyes it's so terrible that it would turn you off to even this re-write x3.
