Stowing his things Chris returned to Jonathan, motioning for the dark-haired young man to follow he silently lead them through the trailer park. Hoping to make conversation Jonathan questions about the place he was going to be shown. "So how far back into the woods is this place?"
"It's far and you have to go down some steep hills to get there." Glancing over at the boy's dress clothes the blonde asked. "Are you sure you can do it in those clothes?" A hand landed on his shoulder. "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine." Looking at the hand resting on his shoulder Chris was reminded of his problems dealing with his peers. 'It's just his hand. He's being friendly that's all, no reason to get shook up over it.' He assured himself trying to ignore the rhythmic squeezing of his shoulder.
Jerking out of the hold when someone called his name Chris whirled around. At the last trailer before the corn fields stood Mrs. Crowley. Mr. Crowley and she had bought a trailer and moved in after they got too old to run their farm; which was now ran by their two sons. The retired couple had moved in right before his family had, they were almost like grandparents to him.
Waving he rushed back to the older woman. "Hello Mrs. Crowley, how are you and Mr. Crowley today?" Smiling the grey-haired woman patted his cheek. "Fine, fine. Who is this with you?" Watching the other boy walk up she extended her hand which he accepted and shook. "Jonathan Wolfe. My father is going to be buying some land to build a house around here."
"Well isn't that nice, Christopher could use someone his own age to speak with. Poor child has grown up here with only us old folks to visit."
"I like talking to everyone here just fine." The subject of their conversation defended. Waving the blonde's comment off she smiled. "That's all good and well dear, but a young man like yourself needs other young men to talk with. Well I won't keep you then, be off." Turning away the dark-haired boy looked back when his companion spoke. "Did you need something Mrs. Crowley?"
"It's nothing, you go ahead and spend time with your friend." She replied moving towards the flower beds she had around her trailer. Stopping her with a gentle hand on her elbow Chris chastised her. "Mrs. Crowley, your knees can't take you getting down like that. You usually have me weed your flowers, if you're low on money I could . . . . " Pulling the boy's hands from her elbow she laughed at his concern.
The sound of a screen door made Jonathan turn back, to find a one-armed man existed the house. "Beth, listen to the boy. Those flowers don't need weeded just this second." Motioning to the handicapped man the blonde introduced them. "Jonathan Wolfe, this is Mr. Crowley. Jonathan and his father might be moving here, if Mr. Boggs sells them some land." After acknowledging the new comer the older man inquired. "Chris would you be interested in weeding her flowers tomorrow? If I can keep her out of them till then." Tsking Beth scowled back at her husband. "True you old coot, you should be glad I still try to keep things clean and neat." Shaking his head at the two's banter Chris agreed. "I'll be here first thing in the morning Mrs. Crowley." Giving him another pat as she passed, the old woman made her way up the stairs. "Alright, I'll leave it to you. Come back before night fall, our boys dropped off a couple of melons and there's no way we can eat them both before they go bad." Walking towards his new friend the smaller waved. "Will do."
Heading down the path Jonathan glanced back at the trailer. "What happened to that guy?" Looking back Chris shrugged. "He was a farmer, from what I've been told he was in an accident with some machinery that took his arm. Not uncommon around here."
"Hmm . . . ." His father had mentioned when he complained he'd be too bored living in the country that he could get a job at one of the farms. 'If that's the shit I got to worry about I'll pass. I'll just have to find something to entertain myself with.' Watching the other boy with renewed interest he was fascinated with how he could walk on the strange black rocks . "Don't your feet hurt?" Taking in the dress shoes on his feet he wondered if he'd learn to do it too.
Glancing at their feet Chris eyed the other boy's shoes. He wasn't use to anyone pointing out his lack of footwear. 'I don't want him to know my family’s money issues, he won't want to speak to me once he realizes how far above my family he is. I should have gotten my old school shoes I guess but if I waste wearing them now then I won't have anything decent to wear when it gets too cold to go bare foot.' Checking out the dark-haired boy's dress shoes in comparison to his own feet he figured as much honest as possible was the best way to handle it. "I'm use to going bare foot and cinder rock doesn't have sharp edges like some rocks do." He explained, hoping to turn his lack of material goods to another subject he added. "Look, if you're worried about your clothes getting dirty then you shouldn't go into the woods. I'll take you back to the clubhouse."
Swinging his arm around the other's shoulder Jonathan assured him. "I might be a city boy but I don't care about my clothes getting dirty. If I move here I better get use to it right? I was just wondering how you walk on rocks like that. You must be a lot tougher than you look." Feeling his face heat up from all the close contact the boy insisted on Chris smiled at the compliment. "Th . . . thanks, most folks think I'm weak." Squinting his eyes while smiling he added. "You'd be surprised how fast I can climb a tree. And cause I don't weigh a lot I can go really high."
'What a beautiful smile and he’s really cute. It's a shame he hides himself under that long hair, though it would probably make a good place to hold onto him with. He's really sweet too, I haven't been in a real relationship with someone, but if we move here keeping him as a steady would suit me fine.' Pulling the boy closer Jonathan watched the red on his cheeks start to spread. 'It might be a nice change from the nameless guys I've been fooling around with.'
"After I move in we can do all kinds of things. My dad will be gone most of the day; having to drive back and forth to work, so we can spend lots of time together. You can teach me about stuff you know . . . and I'll teach you about stuff I know. How's that sound?" Moving the arm he had on the other boy's shoulder to across his chest, Jonathan nonchalantly slipped his hand under the boy's button up shirt that was hanging open to caress his nipple through his undershirt. Bowing to pull his chest away form the ticklish sensation Chris stepped back. Acting as if nothing had happened the dark young man allowed him to pull away. 'Teasing a virgin is always fun.'
Scowling Chris raised his arm to rub the tingle he was feeling away. 'He's really touchy feely.' Approaching the woods he studied the area. 'Maybe it's better to show him where a good place would be instead of showing my spot.' Analyzing the way the ground sloped and thickness of the forest he smiled taking the other's hand. "Here let's go this way. My spot is really far and not easy to get in and out of. I know a perfect place you guys could build a house."
Allowing himself to be lead through the tall grass between the woods and corn field Jonathan listened to the other boy's ramblings. "This part of the forest towards the east is really thin and flat so it would be perfect." Tugging him to the thin area of the woods he pointed out the good things about the spot. "See, it won't take much time to cut down these trees and since it's already flat it won't take much time before it'll be ready to build on"
The boy was right, the spot would make the perfect building area. 'And here dad was going to pay by the hour for those surveyors to tell him where to buy and build. Damn, this guy showed me the perfect place immediately. It's not terribly far from his house so getting him to come here won't be troublesome at least. I'll show dad this place tomorrow, he isn't set on anyone spot after all.' Observing the path they had followed he knew he was too out in the open for what he had in mind, perfect place to build a house it was but not for getting better acquainted with his new friend. Somehow he had to persuade the other to take him farther into the woods, the farther the better. He didn't want to chance his dad finding him in another compromising position; that's what led to them moving.
"This place does look promising." Chris silently congratulated himself on his success till the other continued. "But . . . I still think you should show me that spot near where my dad was interested in." Deflating at his words the blonde stuttered. "Real . . . really . . . this place is better. The other place is between steep hills and it just isn't what you guys would want." Tapping his finger against his lips and closing his blue eyes; seeming deep in thought Jonathan explained. "Unless I've seen it and can assure my father it doesn't compare to this spot for a building area he'll want to go there himself. If it's as nice as you say it is I might not be able to persuade him not to buy it."
Sighing the blonde moved to lean against one of the trees. 'If he sees it he'll know it's the nicer place. Where will that leave us?' Suddenly Jonathan's larger body was pressed against his. Jerking his head up Chris glowered at him. "What are you doing? Get off." Chortling while molding their bodies together Jonathan kept pressing against him. "I'll get off soon. Now, what's the big deal about that spot?" Bracing his hands against the tree above Chris's head he bumped his pelvis against the blonde when he tried to push him away. "First you throw a fit back at the clubhouse, then you make sure to show me this place instead, and now even after I've clearly explained why I need to see it you're still trying to get out of it." Watching the smaller boy preparing to fight him, he grinned. "Don't make me have to force it from you."
He might have had a short temper but he knew when to admit defeat, it wasn't like he'd be a match against someone built like Jonathan. Ashamed he lowered his head. "I don't want you to think bad about my family." He quietly admitted. Pulling back the larger man cocked his head. "I don't know your family. What's this have to do with anything?" Looking up Chris's lower lip quivered and he could feel the annoying sting in his eyes from them misting up. "We're poor alright." He forcibly said. "Your dad has money, your going to build a big, new house just because your dad doesn't want you to live in the city." Reaching up he used the back of his hand to wipe his nose. "That spot I don't want you guys to take has all these wild edibles growing there; I harvest food for my family from there, you buy it and build a house I won't have anywhere to get food to help my family. Get it?"
Blinking Jonathan drew back, it was apparent the blonde's family didn't have much but he hadn't suspected it to this degree. "Yes, my dad has money. Hell he's got enough to use as ass paper and not miss it but I think he knows no one around here has a lot of money. That's kind of the reason he picked this place. Let's just say dad didn't like the people I was hanging out with that's why we're moving here. He thinks since most folks are busy working that I won't have time to cause trouble." Pulling back he smiled, hoping to reassure his new friend. "Everybody has things they don't want held against them." Rubbing his thumb under the shorter male's eyes he wiped the few fustrated tears away. "I won't hold this against you and in exchange you won't hold anything against me alright?"
Scrubbing his face Chris jerked his head once to agree, pushing away from the tree he began leading his new friend through the woods. "Come on, I'll show you." With a dark predatory glint in his eyes Jonathan quickly matched his stride.
The boy hadn't lied when he said it was difficult to get there first the trees and undergrowth leading to the hills were thick and at times seemed impassable, then one rocky hill after another was in their way but it was worth it when Chris slide off his button up shirt. Instead of tying his shirt around his waist like Jonathan had done with his the blonde simply tucked the bottom into his jean shorts and let the top hang down around him. With only an overly large dingy white tank on a lot of the boy's chest showed when he stretched and flexed his body to maneuver through the forest. One of the shoulder straps insisted on sliding down his arm exposing his creamy chest and nipple to his traveling companion. 'It matches the pale pink of his lips.' Jonathan observed wetting his dry lips. 'I wonder what color it would become if I took that small nub in my mouth and gave it a good suck.' Coming to stand beside the object of his lust Jonathan followed Chris's finger to the vale ringed in fog he was pointing at. "This is it." Pulling off the dress shirt he had wrapped around his waist after the first hill Jonathan wiped his forehead off.
"Don't worry there's clean water down there." Nodding to let Chris know he had heard him he retied his shirt. "I believe you now when you said this probably isn't a place dad would want to build at. We're here, might as well get the full tour and I really need a drink." Pointing to the fairly wide body of water running through the place he asked. "You sure the water is safe?" Careful where he stepped the black-haired boy started down, and since Chris had grown up visiting this valley he bounded down. "Don't worry city boy I drink from it all the time."
Reaching the bottom Jonathan tried to stay close. Tripping over some of the tall flowering weeds he growled. "Is there always fog here?"
"Yes, I'm not sure why though. But isn't this place great?" Pulling a flower close the blonde leaned down to sniff a large purple flower. "If you say so, just looks like a bunch of weeds to me." Hoping he had tied his shoes tight enough Jonathan pulled his leg out of a tangle of plants.
"But . . . there all different. See this is a cone flower; you can tell by the shape of this inside piece, butterflies love them. And over there, look at that vine; it's flowers are shaped like trumpets, humming birds are always around them. Oh, look here's one now." There flying near the vine of flowers was a small red throated bird hovering before zooming away.
Watching the small bird the blonde had pointed out to him, Jonathan considered how he'd be able to convince the other to welcome his advances. 'He's not stupid that's for sure. Simple yes but he's not had the education like I've had at private boy schools. Hell, if his family is as bad off as he says I might be able to buy him from them or at least pay them to keep quiet about my involvement with their son. Hell that's what dad did. If his family proves to be as greedy as the last boy's was they'd probably strip him and serve him on their kitchen table to me, maybe even hold him open while I take him as long as I throw enough money their way. I just have to be careful that dad doesn't find out, I don't know what he'd do if he catches me again.' Once again his shoe got stuck, this time though no matter how hard he tugged the plants kept trapping him.
Easily walking around the taller boy Chris went on explaining everything that his valley had. "Besides the pretty stuff there is also lots of medicinal herbs, native fruits, nuts, vegetables and berries." Helping the supposedly stronger boy out of his entanglement the weaker one called attention to the trees around the perimeter. "Look there are hickory, pecan, and walnut trees and several paw paw, persimmon, and plum trees." Taking the lead Chris used his legs to push the tall flowering plants to the side making a small path to the grassy area before the stream. "Those over there are apple trees, they're not native though. A long time ago in the next small town that way was an apple orchard. I'm not sure how trees from there could have gotten here but that’s the only explanation I can think of." Making it to the grass he helped the stronger built boy out of the weeds. "In fact every year that community has a festival for the old apple orchard. It was a thriving business in this area over 50 yrs ago; back when everyone still used the levies before the railroad came."
Pulling the last vine that had wrapped around his leg off Jonathan dusted off his pants. "Your smart, how do you know all this?" Blushing the blonde started towards the stream. "Well they tell the story every year at the festival. And as far as the plants you can learn a lot from older folks if you just listen to them." Treading carefully through the thick long grass the dark man had never been so happy to see water in his life. "Does that town still have an orchard?" Kneeling down by the edge of the stream Chris shook his head. "No, not long after the railroad was put in some apple tree disease came through this area and wiped out every tree in the orchard. The family that owned it was originally from Ireland; they went back after their youngest daughter went missing. It's a sad tale actually; first the town starts drying up because the railroad takes all the shipping business from the levies, then the last business that was keeping the town alive looses everything to some tree sickness, and as if the family didn't suffer enough their youngest child goes missing and they never find her. Now the town's nothing but a small farming community now, no shops or anything."
'He's got a big heart. I'm going to enjoy creating a relationship with him. It will be nice to have someone special to support me. I bet he won't turn from me like mom did.' Wading through the tall grass towards the now kneeling boy's unprotected back he smirk trying to decide how far he should push things for their first time. "Oof . . . ." A sudden change of position found him laying face down, the bottom half of his legs against a large stone. Rolling over he could tell from the stinging in both legs they were scratched up.
Turning at the sound of something hitting the ground Chris's eyes widened, rushing over to his new friend he squatted down by him. "Are you alright?" Huffing while pulling up his pant leg the city boy admitted. "Looks like I tripped over that rock. I think this place is against me or something."
"You got a handkerchief?" Nodding Jonathan pulled his clean white handkerchief out of his pant pocket, handing it over. Taking the cloth the littler youth raced back to the stream, wetting it before returning. Handing it over he turned to see what had tripped his companion. There sitting between the parted grass was a large upright stone. 'That's funny, I've been coming here since I was three years old and I never noticed this stone before.' Hunkering by the stone he reached over to dust it off. 'Hey this is the same stone as the necklace I found.' Pulling the strap around his neck he withdrew the stone from under his undershirt, drawing the other's attention to him. "What's that you go there?" Looking at the stone he replied. "I found this earlier today in the woods by the golf course. Look, this is the same type of stone." He explained leaning over to hold the smaller necklace stone against the larger one.
Pressing the two stones together in his dumb luck he happened to push it against the indentation in the center. Fog immediately rolled around the rock. The sudden addition of more fog startled the two young men; reaching forward Jonathan latched onto Chris's shirt. "What's going on here?"
"I don't know, this hasn't ever happened before." The fog wrapped around the blonde and to him it felt like something was pulling him. "Help, something's got me!" Shooting off the ground Jonathan tackled him, the feeling of weightlessness and the sensation of being pulled shocked him. With the strength he had launched himself at the other boy they should have hit the ground hard but instead it felt like they were floating.
Within moments the sensation stopped, gently they found themselves laid at the edge of the stream. The fog rolled back out as quickly as it had come leaving them right where they had been. "What the hell was that?" The dark boy asked looking around for what pulled them, from under him Chris's timid voice asked. "Umm . . . can you get off of me now?" Gazing down at the one under him Jonathan leered. 'Maybe God doesn't hate me after all.'
"I don't know, I kind of like it where I am." Pressing his heavier body against his guide he smirked at the dark blush that was staining the other male's entire face and racing down his neck. Unable to resist any longer he leaned in determined to taste those sweet plump pale pink lips.
"Hey! What do you two think you're doing in my home?" Jerking back Jonathan rolled off turning to face who had snuck up on them. Blinking Chris leaned up on his elbows, wondering not only what was going on but who would be in his valley. There standing before them was another young man; about the same height as Jonathan but with long brown hair. Lots of darkly tanned skin was the first thing one noticed being the other male was only wearing some type of loincloth. In one hand he held a wet basket; a couple of fish tails stuck out from one side, in the other he held a strange long knife. "Are you hard of hearing? How did you get in my home?"
Pushing himself up the blonde looked around the valley only to find it wasn't his place anymore. Many of the things were the same; like the large willow tree beside the stream and all the wild edibles and stuff but now there also was a garden and a small hut of some kind. Unable to comprehend what was happening and how the place had changed Chris gawked.
Sighing Takoda put down his basket of fish and took a seat near the stream. "Great, first people I see in years and their complete idiots."
