“About last night,” Shane had waited until he was half way to his home to open his mouth. It had been on his mind ever since that phone call, and yet he still wasn't sure what he was going to say on the subject. Tony was obviously avoiding bringing it up, which just made it ten times harder for Shane to say anything. But by the way they'd both been silent once they were inside the car until that moment, each knew what the other was thinking about.
“Yeah, uhm…” Tony rubbed the back of his neck. “It was good,” He shrugged. He'd never been so uncomfortable with just talking even on this subject, why now with a guy he'd known for the better part of his life he didn't even want to bring it up.
“Yeah, well,” Shane paused. “Normally when someone lets someone ass fuck them there's a thank you involved?” He shrugged and forced a small smile. “I don't know how it works with women, but that's how Shane rolls,” He turned toward the window awaiting an answer.
“Well thanks then, late or not. I was a little shy about the whole thing afterward, I just didn't think. Been forgetting to do that a lot lately,” He kept his eyes fixed on the road, which really wasn't something he often did while driving.
“It's okay,” Shane said. They were silent again; at least that little confusion was dealt with. But now Shane was trying to cope with the fact that Tony had been part of an organized mob for the past six years. The upside supposedly was that for five of those years he'd been in Germany at war, but either way it didn't eliminate the fact that he'd admitted to manslaughter. Shane wanted to be okay with it, but it wasn't like anything anyone he knew had ever told him, it wasn't like being gay.
Neither of them seemed to be in any rush to get out of the car when it stopped in the driveway. Tony turned the keys out of the ignition and looked down at the breaks and his feet under the dashboard. It was easy to see Shane wasn't all that enthusiastic, but Tony could think of only one thing that might bring him up.
“Aright Shane, I think Jason's probably waiting for us in there, not much good sitting out here staring at the wall,” Tony nudged him. Shane let out a long sigh and nodded. He opened the car door and stepped one foot out before his wrist was grabbed.
“Hey,” Tony smiled as he looked back. “Forget about me tonight okay, I know I'm a fuck up but don't let that mess up your life,” He winked.
“I think I was just reminded of why I love you so much,” Shane smiled back. “My fuck up,” He leaned back in the car and kissed Tony on the cheek as his arm was released. Tony blushed and rolled his eyes, the two of them both exiting the car. Things seemed to be back the way they should have been the way they were when they didn't have a care in the world.
Shane had all eyes as soon as he stepped through the door; a certain four people in the room had never seen him dressed so inappropriately. Jason's jaw dropped why'd open and he was caught staring by more than himself.
“What…” He was going to continue but the beer in his right hand slipped out and spilled all over the couch. Teresa, who was sitting right next to the spill sprung from her seat as if something had bitten her. Jason was rather slow to comprehend the situation but after a few seconds got the bright idea to actually pick up the tilted can.
“Sorry, Shane,” He stared down at the mess he'd made with a blank expression. He always lost his sense first when he drank, and only a small amount of alcohol could get him drunk.
“Well it's sure as hell wet now,” Clark stood up and moved to the other couch.
“It's all right,” Shane shrugged and headed into the kitchen to get something to clean it up with. Tony gave Jason a sneer and walked toward the stairs, most of his things were in Shane's room and he wanted to get them together. Jason shrugged at him without a word; he hadn't done it on purpose. He moved to the other couch next to Clark and Teresa and Raj followed.
“So, anyway,” Shane smiled as he came in with a spray bottle and a roll of paper towels. “How'd you guys get here so fast? I thought you wouldn't be here until tomorrow?” He asked.
“Davy was anxious to see me, he came straight over after you called,” Jason replied. “We was going to his house and call you for directions but we got Mark at the gas station out of nowhere and he shown us the way,” Jason had his eyes half shut as he spoke.
“In case you haven't noticed, he's a little light headed at the moment,” Raj pointed at Jason and twirled a pointer around his own head. Shane nodded, with a crooked smile, getting the picture.
“Lightheaded is hardly the word, he's drunk,” Clark grunted.
“I've had three cans!” Jason protested.
“You're drunk,” Clark repeated harshly. “What are you wearing Shane, it looks like you just left the strip club,” He took a drink of his own can of Miller Light, looking Shane up and down for the second time.
“You don't like it?” Shane tilted his head. Clark certainly didn't sound appreciative, but then again when did he ever?
“No I love it, that's the problem. Makes we want to go and start feelin' you up,” Clark stood up from his seat and headed into the kitchen as if he were in his own home, just barely avoiding bumping Shane's shoulder as he went by.
“What's up with him?” Shane raised an eyebrow as he sprayed the resolve on the spill. Teresa rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, she didn't want to be the one to explain, or think about Clark's personal problem.
“Well for one thing he's just generally messed up in the head, just don't know it yet,” Raj took to answering Shane's question confidently. “The second one's a little more obvious, he wants you back like he fucking wants to live to be twenty-five,” He grunted. “Don't think anything of it though, he just likes you in bed,” He mumbled the final sentence.
“Raj!” Teresa exclaimed. “Will you stop being such a prick to him, you want another incident like the one on the way over?” She yelled. Jason sat back between them with wide eyes hoping the yelling across his lap would stop soon.
“Maybe I do, so I can give that little shit what's coming to him,” Raj refused to look at her, speaking calmly his eyes focused on the blank television. Shane stood still and watched, wondering what was going on between the two of them.
“God you're such an ass are you just asking for him to go throw himself off a cliff?” Teresa leaned over Jason and got right up in Raj's face.
“Maybe I am!” Raj yelled back at her in the loudest voice he could pull together. Teresa froze, Raj had always been the quiet shy boy that kept to himself and never, ever raised his voice. She sat back, lacing her fingers in between Jason's and letting out a heavy sigh.
“Look, I'm sorry…” Raj began.
“I'm not the one you should apologize to!” She growled. Jason shivered and looked down at his hand, which was being held by his girlfriend.
“Well I'm not apologizing to him,” Raj grumbled, crossing his arms and leaning back. He wasn't sorry anymore.
“Guys,” Shane paused. “What's going on?” He felt it was finally safe to ask.
“It's nothing…” Raj was cut off once again.
“Me and him got in a fist fight in the back seat,” Clark said from the kitchen. “We were fighting about you, mostly,” He looked down at Shane's backside through those leather pants. He'd seen that ass before, he should've been able to see it again without the clothes any time he wanted, but Shane was just too good for him. “Apparently he never liked me and doesn't give a shit if I burn in hell,” Clark walked up behind Shane, keeping his eyes on one spot the entire time, clenching his fists and reminding himself of the `look but don't touch' rule.
“I didn't say that…”
“Like hell,” Clark hollered, losing his temper once again.
“Hey,” Shane cut in. “If you two girls want to sissy fight somewhere, do it outside, I didn't invite you over so you could poop my party,” He said firmly. Silence filled the room for a moment, but it was broken by a small, rather pitiful giggle from the center of the couch.
“What?” Shane raised an eyebrow as Jason's giggle began to evolve into more of a laugh.
“He laughs at everything when he's like this, can't keep a straight face,” Teresa explained. Jason put a hand over his mouth and tried to stop himself. For a moment he succeeded but the forced frown formed into a smile and he broke out once again.
“I'm sorry,” He laughed. “It's just… poop Shane's party,” He put a hand to his chest, not seeming to notice or care that he was the only one laughing. “Oh god,” He tried to breath, “Someone hold me,” He leaned on Teresa's shoulder pounding a fist into the couch.
Tony came down the stairs wearing a light pink t-shirt and blue jeans, a baseball cap and tennis shoes, his basic usual clothing. He stopped behind Shane, a little curious toward the scene before him. Here he was, Jason was laughing like an imbecile and everyone else was just looking at him as if they hoped he would just drop dead soon.
“What the hell is his problem?” Tony whispered to Shane. Shane shrugged, he'd never seen this side of Jason before, it was almost like a whole different person. He thought to himself in a joking manner that if he and Jason ever got together he would never let that boy near alcohol. But hell, at least one good thing had come out of this, Raj and Clark's fight had died down.
“Clark, sit down, will you,” Teresa was getting annoyed by the way he kept staring at Shane, he wasn't that great anyway. Clark made a rather daring move and took a handful of ass into his right hand as he passed Shane.
“You'll always be a whore,” He chuckled in a whisper and removed his hand, giving it a slap before heading toward a recliner. He thought he'd gotten away with it before a firm, merciless grasp was taken onto his palm and he was tugged back. He half expected it to have been Tony, the bodyguard to have done it, but pinned against the wall he found himself looking into his ex-lover's eyes.
“You keep your fucking hands off me unless I say otherwise,” Shane growled. Tony smirked and put a hand to his face to cover it up, Clark looked quite surprised. Shane let him go, removing his hand from the boy's shoulder and hand and stepping back. “I'm not that much of a whore,” He stated. “Now I'm going to change,” He was breathing heavily as he turned toward the stairs. Tony had an urge to follow, not wanting to be left alone with Gigglebot, Psycho Chick, Pervert and Shyness. (Jason, Teresa, Clark and Raj) but he didn't want to seem like a tag along.
Jason had certainly stopped laughing, Teresa was embarrassed by her friend, and Raj seemed to be unable to care less about the whole situation. Clark straightened the jean jacket he was wearing and smiled in satisfaction. Sure as hell just taking what he'd wanted felt oh so good; he'd just have to be careful about the aftermath next time.
“Hey,” Tony's loud, obnoxious voice broke him out of his moment of pride. “You ever do anything like that again and you'll end up six miles from here five feet under ground,” Tony was a little reluctant to have said it, remembering now that it was much harder to tell himself that he was only a killer when he was with Marty and the gang now that Shane knew. Clark tilted his head in askance to the unclear threat.
“I think he means the cemetery,” Mark shrugged, leaning against the doorway that led into the kitchen, biting his fingernail. Clark let out an incredulous grunt and continued toward the center of the room to sit down.
“So Tony, have fun last night?” Mark chuckled, like everything; this was all a big joke that he could only treat by attempting to make it funnier.
“Shane?” Tony questioned, and Mark nodded. “He told you about that? Wow, I thought he'd be ashamed of being on the bottom,” Tony rubbed the back of his neck and shrugged.
“Well you obviously aren't ashamed,” Teresa cut in. “Talking about it in front of all of us like it was just a trip to the grocery store,” She scolded. Clark stopped listening when he heard the word `Shane' which had to have meant it most likely wasn't something he was very interested in hearing.
“At least leave the room first,” Raj shrugged, he as well didn't want to get a detailed description of two men sleeping together. Just after Shane came hopping down the stairs in a loose pair of black jeans and a t-shirt with a band logo printed on the front. He skipped the last four stairs in the flight and landed on both feet.
“Now that's the Shane I'm used to,” Jason clapped, bringing himself to his feet. “C'mere boy, we've missed you,” He rather stumbled over to Shane and pulled him over to the middle of the room by his hand and sat him on the dry half of the second couch. He then sat down in his original seat and looked around, studying his surroundings. “Now this is a house,” he nodded.
“Yeah, nice place you got here,” Raj nodded. Clark and Teresa were silent, Teresa focused on any intimate object available, and Clark continued his stare on one particular habitant of the room; oh yes, this was surely becoming an obsession, or as he would've put it, a deep passion.
“My parents bought it when we were filthy rich, `course now that they're gone it takes a bit of work to keep it, but we like the place,” Shane leaned back and spread his arms out. Tony took note of wear the spill was and sat down next to Shane, not too close of course. Shane turned his head and just looked, wearing a mischievous smile, watching the sides of Tony's eyes as the pupils moved. Tony was clueless at first, but it wasn't long before he noticed he was being watched.
“What?” He giggled as he turned his head. As soon as his eyes met Shane's he had to look away, otherwise he knew he'd never be able to.
“You look good in pink,” Shane chuckled and laid his arm over Tony's shoulder, pulling him closer and giving him a noogie. Tony nudged Shane with his shoulder, pushing himself away, wearing a playful smile. Raj rolled his eyes and crossed his arms, Clark just looked, the same expression, same position, with different thoughts. Jason watched, feeling an emotion he was unsure of, he bit his bottom lip. It may have been the beer that brought it on but the feeling much reminded him of jealousy, though he'd never been the jealous type.
“This was a bad idea,” Teresa mumbled, promising herself in her head that she would avoid looking entertained at all costs, perhaps then someone would notice her misery and offer to go back home.
The party went smoothly after that despite the shaky start. Clark and Raj didn't seem like they'd forgiven each other but at least the were quiet. Clark didn't talk much at all, and when he did it was either only to Teresa or Jason, or directed at no one in particular. Teresa was able to have a good time despite that she'd thought she'd be miserable, she was actually glad she'd spent a good amount of time with these people. She and Natalie got acquainted while Raj, Jason, Tony, Mark, and Shane continuously talked and laughed among themselves about any random subject that came to mind. By midnight they were all silent, sitting on floors and furniture, staring at the TV screen as The Terminator movie played.
When the movie was over and the credits started rolling, Teresa, Mark and Tony were sleeping. Jason wasn't far from it, and the others could have used some shut-eye as well.
“I guess this means we're all camping out her,” Shane said as he used the remote to turn off the VCR and television, leaving the tape inside. Jason nodded and stretched rubbing his eyes for the sake of staying awake long enough to make it up the stairs. “Wanna sleep in my bed?” Shane winked at him, joking of course. Jason didn't answer at all, but he wore a humorous smile as he headed into the kitchen, he wanted food.
“He's still drunk, he had two during the movie. Watch, when he comes back in here he'll be wide-awake,” Raj said, a yawn following his words. Shane chuckled and looked over at Jason as he rummaged through Shane's refridgerater.
“Hey Shane!” He called rather loudly. “You got any lettuce?” He asked. Shane turned to Raj with a raised eyebrow, he'd been right; Raj simply shrugged. Jason clung to the side of the doorway and hung his head into the room.
“Alls I found is this ugly cabbage head,” He held up a head of cabbage in his other hand, holding it by the husk.
“I'm goin' to bed, good luck,” Raj chimed out, shooting up from his seat and heading up the stairs, they'd already decided where they'd be sleeping. Shane rolled his eyes at the funny boy and stood up, heading into the kitchen to help Jason and make sure he didn't cut off his own hand with the kitchen knife.
“I don't want to be picky but…” the husk tore and the cabbage hit the floor with a thump. “Oops,” Jason looked down at it, and then at the husk in his hand. “It broke,” He looked up at Shane with a wide smile. Oh shit, he was going to start laughing again. Shane hurried over to him ignoring the cabbage and guided him over to the refridgerator to get the bagged salad from the bottom drawer of the fridge.
“This what you're looking for,” Shane asked, holding it out to him.
“I like salad,” was Jason's reply. Shane cocked his head curiously, wondering if Jason was drunk or drugged, he was acting as if he'd been into some sort of crack, only not quite as wild. Shane's eyes widened when he realized what Jason was going to do, a knife in one hand and a tomato in the other. Shane snatched the knife away immediately as well as the tomato, living Jason clueless as to why his hands were suddenly empty.
“I'll do that,” Shane nodded him off and put the tomato down on the cutting board. He cut the entire thing in half and then began slicing one half into four small triangular shapes, and then he moved onto the second half. He was only seconds from finished, and Jason had been silent when he felt a pair of possessive arms wrap around him from behind and a chin rest on his shoulder. He jumped in alert and nearly ended up cutting off his own finger.
“Jase?” Shane put the knife down and turned his head so he was looking at the other boy.
“Keep cutting, I like watching you,” He nuzzled Shane's hair. Shane was confused, and a bit unsure of the whole idea of this adorable creature flirting him. But he would have been lying to say that he didn't like it. He sliced the last half of the tomato in half and pushed all of the pieces to the side of the cutting board.
“All right, after this we should all get to bed though,” Shane started putting the salad together in a bowl.
“Maybe I could go to bed with you,” Jason squeezed him and winked. Shane froze for a moment, hell yes that sounded like a great idea.
“Ha, ha, very funny,” Shane rolled his eyes, keeping focus on what he was doing.
“Who said I was joking?” Jason started rubbing Shane's stomach, pulling himself closer. Shane's jaw dropped open, any other time he would have loved this, but it was just the alcohol, this wasn't Jason suggesting these things.
“Jason,” Shane dropped everything and attempted to pry the boy's hands off him. “You're drunk,” He slowly turned himself so that he was facing Jason.
“Hmm,” Jason didn't answer, he just began playing with Shane's shirt collar.
“Stop it,” Shane tried to push him off, but he didn't want to hurt his feelings, he didn't want to be too harsh. Jason leaned his head in and nuzzled Shane's neck.
“You're straight, you have a girlfriend,” Shane backed away, moving slowly along the sink, trying to keep him off.
“So?” Jason jumped forward and placed a kiss on Shane's cheek. “Come on, I know you want me,” His hand crept down Shane's side and slid over his thigh.
“I don't want you,” Shane jumped backward, if he hadn't gotten out of it then, no way he'd be able to turn it down. Jason looked devastated all of the sudden, his mouth hung open and his eyes wide.
“You…” He stopped himself and ran a hand through his hair.
“Not like this,” Shane stated. He left the tomatoes and knife on the cutting board and headed out of the kitchen and toward the stairs. Jason fell into a chair, he suddenly had a horrible head ache. He was sweating as he leaned his head back, placing a hand on his forehead with his eyes sealed shut. He'd done it again.
