There was a light knock on the door of my room. Though it was light, it sounded so loud like thunder. It was loud enough to startled me to the point I jumped and feel out of the bed.
“ Coming!” I shouted, getting dressed, picking up kitty and opened the door to see Sister Eva’s sweet smile.
“ Good morning, Liebe. Sleep well?” She asked. She was wearing jeans and a pink T-shirt, which was totally different from her nun outfit she was wearing last night.
“ Um…why are you dressed like me and other’s that aren’t nuns?” I asked looking at her oddly.
“ Because we’re going shopping!” She took my little hand and we started towards the Church’s entrance.
I looked at the few people who were sitting in the pews and praying to the lord. I wonder what they were praying for and whether or not the lord would grant it.
“ Liebe come on will you.” Sister Eva whispered holding the door open for me.
“ Sorry.” I rushed out into the sunlight, but it didn’t bother me at al. I thought I was a vampire and the sun would kill me, but I could have been wrong.
Sister Eva led me to the village where we would be shopping. I wasn’t sure what we were shopping for all I knew is that everyone was staring at me just like Father Andrew had, but at least they kept there thoughts to themselves.
“ Don’t pay any mind to them, Liebe. Father Andrew must of spread a word around here that you were a demon.” She sighed.
“ Oh!” I nodded hating that old priest more and more. “ What are we shopping for?”
“ Well food for you.” She giggled, and I chuckled. It figured in so many ways. “ You’re a growing boy and more then likely eat a lot. I had a little brother growing up, and he almost ate my parents and I out of house and home.”
I couldn’t help, but laugh at that.
“ I doubt that I could do that.” I said.
“ I bet you could!” She smiled, ruffling my hair. Then she started to tickle my sides, making me go into a fit of laughter.
That laughter was cut short by the bloodcurdling scream of a little girl, who had fallen in the middle of the road. There was a car speeding towards her, but they didn’t see her. No one on the streets rushed to help her.
“ Hold kitty!” I said giving Sister Evra Kitty, not really wanting to let him go, but I had to save that little girl.
I rushed over with such speed that was it unhuman, a speed I didn’t think I truly had, and I knew that I was exposing myself as someone who wasn’t human. But I just couldn’t stand by and watch that little girl get run over and killed like everyone else.
“ Liebe!” Sister Eva shouted as I stopped dead in my tracks right in front of the car. “ Get out of the way!!!!”
I felt every muscle in my body tense as I rammed my shoulder into the on coming car hoping it would stop or take me instead of the little girl, who looked at me as if I were her hero, her god.
“ Oh thank you! You stopped the car!” She jumped for joy and hugged me, but I couldn’t understand what she was really saying. Had I really stopped the car?
“ Liebe! H-how the hell did…did you do that?!” Sister Eva walked over to me and pointed at the car.
“ Huh?” I blinked, and then looked at the car. “ Holy hell!!” I cursed jumping back, shocked at the damage I had done.
The whole front of the car looked like it had hit a brick wall going 120 mph, but it didn’t make sense. My shoulder couldn’t have done that! Then again whether my shoulder did that or not was the least of my worries. The person driving could be dead right now because of me and Father Andrew would have all the proof he needed to have me killed.
“ Whoa looked what that little boy did to that car!” A woman whispered to another.
“ Isn’t he the kid Father Andrew said was a demon?”
“ Yeah, but he saved that girl”
“ That was so cool!!” The little girl I had saved squealed, hugging me tighter.
I didn’t think it was so cool. I felt like a freak, a monster. I wished to drive a stake through my heart before Father Andrew had the chance.
“ Dude! Looked what you did to my car?!” The guy who was driving stepped out, looking at me. He was so drunk, no wonder he didn’t see the little girl.
“ Liebe, are you alright?” Sister Eva asked as she held me close, but I didn’t care.
Rage took over me and I lost it. I yelled at the guy getting him out of his drunken state, little did I know I was exposing myself more.
“ Car! Car?! You’re worried about you freakin’ car, when you almost killed this little girl!! What kind of person are you?” I growled, balling my hands into fists. I didn’t care if he understood me or not. What he did was absolutely stupid.
The guys’ face turned pale noticing what I haven’t yet. He feel back, pointing at me in horror, as if I was going to eat him.
“ Demon!!!” He screamed at the top of his lungs.
“ L-Liebe?” I heard Sister Eva’s shocked, and shaking voice.
“ What?” I turned to her, and she gasped loudly.
Then I looked at one of the windows of the car that had been untouched and saw what everyone in the crowd saw.
I was a demon, a monster like Father Andrew said. It wasn’t like before when Father Andrew had the bottle to my nose, but I could still smell that sweet iron smell all around me. Then I only had vampire fangs, but now I was something much worse.
I looked like a werewolf, with blood lust sparkling in my large green eyes. They had been staring at the drunken man with hate. Long, sharp teeth were bared in a snarl, and long black claws were ready to rip apart flash. Wolf’s feet that were made for running on all terrain. My tail twitches a little as I came to the realization that I was about to rip the drunken man to pieces in front of everyone, in front of Eva.
Collapsing to my knees, I howled loudly in sorrow, as I changed back. The howl turned into loud, sorrowful crying. I didn’t care if people were staring at me or whether they were running and screaming. I didn’t care anymore, because I would be alone now. Alone again.
Then I felt arms wrap around my shaking shoulders, then came a whisper. So soft, comforting and sweet. One I thought I’d never hear again.
“ Shhh, Liebe. You’re not a monster. Please don’t cry.” Sister Eva said, holing me like a child, handing me my kitty, which I clung too.
“ B-but I am a monster! Father Andrew was right!! Look what I did to that guy’s car!!” I sobbed into her chest.
“ Liebe, look around you.” She whispered into my ear.
“ What does it matter, everyone is going to run from me!” I protested. I knew that they thought I was a monster and deserve to hang.
“ I’m not going to run.” She smiled at me, and then I felt a little hand wrap around mine.
“ I’m not either, Liebe.” She spoke German, and I hugged her and Sister Eva.
They were my only friends, other than my kitty. Though if this whole event went to court, two people and a stuff kitty wasn’t going to make much of a difference. I surly would be sentenced to death.
“ Coming!” I shouted, getting dressed, picking up kitty and opened the door to see Sister Eva’s sweet smile.
