Home Work

-Mai-Pai-

I don't want to retire. I have to get back to work. Why am I at home? Let me back up some.

-Three Days Ago-

Soon and I were rearranging the house. I was on the ladder.

“Please be careful,” Soon told me.

“I will,” I said. I forgot why I was on the ladder. It wasn't high enough to kill me. But I ended up breaking my foot. Soon was there to catch me. To make a long story short, I wound up in the hospital with a cast on my foot.

-Now-

I came home. I was well enough to be discharged from the hospital. I was trapped in my room. They won't let me do anything. I'm stuck in my bed. Soon and Be won't let me leave.

“Mom, you need to rest,” Be told me. “Don't you want your foot to heal?” If I have to hear that again, I will go crazy. Choko is the one running the shop. I know she's capable but I have to be there. I have to get to that office. Soon took away my phone.

“Stop that,” he told me.

`But…” I whimpered.

“No!” he said sternly. “You are going to stay in bed and rest.” Soon gently took my hand.

“I will have Choko-can call you when she gets off work. I promise,” he said. I stared at him with big eyes. But that's not the worst part.

I'm so bored! I have nothing to do in my bed. I felt like I was going to scream. I tried to get out of bed but they caught me.

“But I'm so bored!” I wailed. “I can't take this anymore!”

“I know, I know,” Soon said. He kissed me on the forehead. I wanted to claw at his throat.

“You're an asshole,” I said.

“Aw,” Soon said. He pulled me into his arms for a hug. I wanted to fight him but felt too weak. I just slumped against his chest.

“It's going to be okay,” he insisted. No, it won't. I'm so bored! I'm about to go crazy in here. I flopped back onto my bed and screamed.
