You woke up on the cool grass. You sat up with a start when you remembered what happened last night. You felt something on your waist pull you back down. You looked down to see a strong yet slender arm wrapped around you, you followed the arm to who it was attached to and gasped “Kazuko?!” you whispered. “Hmmm….” he mumbled and lazily opened an eye. He gasped and jumped up “S-sorry!” he stuttered. You couldn't help but think how cute he was with the funny look and red face. “What happened last night?!” he asked, suddenly very angry. “Huh?” you asked dumbly. “Don't `huh?' me! You had me worried sick! I thought you were caught!” he yelled. “Chill out I'm fine!” you yelled back at him. “What do you mean `fine'? Master Garron came by and-.” you cut him off “Who's Garron?” you asked. “That's MASTER Garron! And he's your guardian!” he said and resumed yelling at you “He came by and told me everything!” You got up in his face “Hey, I got out didn't I?!” you said. He growled and you growled back. He looked down and you thought that he was furious with you, but you saw a tear fall from his cheek. “Don't ever go out alone again, ok?” he whispered. You embraced him “Ok.” you said. He flinched but returned the hug.
You suddenly heard a twig snap in the distance and looked to see the man that you saw the other day, wearing a black coat that covered all of his physical features, walking towards you. “Hope I didn't interrupt anything, but I have a message for Lady Alexia.” he said. You both, reluctantly, pulled away and you took the envelope from the man. Kazuko bowed to the stranger and you looked at him funny. “Kazuko what-.” you were cut off when the man spoke, his voice was deep and he sounded important. “Young fox, have you bonded with the Lady?” he asked. Kazuko rose and said “Yes, sir.” The stranger pulled back his hood to reveal his bold face that looked as if he had been in many battles. Then he pulled his coat off, reveling a large sword. “That is good news.” He smiled at him “And the name fits you well, Kazuko.” “Thank you, Master Garron.” he said. Confused, you looked back and forth at them, then said “What?” They both faced you and Garron said “My Lady, you should be more cautious when you wonder during the night.” he smiled. “I wasn't wondering I was shopping for stuff so that I can build myself a shelter.” you snap at him. “Please be more polite Alex, he did save you from Donavan.” Kazuko pleaded. You notice Garron give him a strange look when he didn't say “Lady Alexia” or “My Lady”. You sighed and shrugged. You remembered that when you went to get the stuff you bought, you found it to be gone. “I lost the supplies anyways so I'll have to spend another $300.” you mumbled. “Do you?” said Garron as he pointed behind you. You turned to see everything in a neat pile under a tree. “How did-.” You turned to Garron “Did you-.” he cut you off “Yep. I noticed that you dropped those and ran into an alley, only to be caught by the Shadows, so I brought them here and went off to rescue you. After you got to the ground, I lost you, so I got Kazuko to help me track you down and he brought you back here.” You looked up at Kazuko and smiled at him “Thank you.” He looked away, trying to hide a blush “No problem.” he said.
You started working on a shelter, with help from Kazuko and Garron. By lunch time you were finished. You sat under a tree eating ramen and drinking soda (whatever your favorite one is, or your favorite drink if you don't like soda….fiends!). “Man, that was hard work, but at least we got it over with early!” you said stretching. “Yea, now we can get to more important matters.” says Kazuko. “Like Donavan.” added Garron. You growled, the sound of his name brought back the memories of last night and you really just wanted to forget about him for now. You decided to hang loose today and went back to your regular form (as the Queen of Darkness) and so did Kazuko. “So I finally see the Queen as her normal self?” asked Garron sarcastically. You shot him a quick glare but returned to your ramen and stared off into the distance. “…help me…” you shock yourself out of your daydream and listened closer “…help…me…please…” came a whisper. Acting on instinct, you replied in the same whisper “Who's there?” A gust of wind past by and the voice replied “I'm in here… please… help me…” You looked in the direction of the old hut that gave you a creepy feeling, you shuddered at the thought of it but the whisper seemed to be coming from it. You took a deep breath and slowly walked closer to the hut. Kazuko noticed you and asked “Where-.” But Garron shushed him “Let's see what happens.”
As you got closer, you felt a pulse get stronger. When you finally reached the door after what seemed like days, the pulsing stopped. “Strange.” you thought. You went inside and felt as if the entrance was being sealed. You looked back to confirm your feeling. “Damn.” you thought and scanned the room. “Where are you?” you asked. “…Here…” it replied and a blue glow illuminated from a small wooden box on a small table. You opened the box and a ball of blue light burst out and you were knocked out cold.
You woke up to someone tugging on your shirt. “Huh?” you moaned as you sat up, rubbing your eyes. “Sorry, guess I was a little too excited to get out of there!” giggled a small voice. You opened your eyes to see a small blue person flying before your face. She had blue skin, light blue eyes, dark blue hair that barely touched her shoulders, a pair of dragonfly wings that kind-of sparkled, and an icy blue light emitted from her body, which was clothed in a short, skimpy, blue dress (like Tinker Bell). “You're a-.” she cut you off. “A faerie!” she exclaimed “That's me! I'm an Ice Faerie! Nami is my name!” Her hyperness freaked you out a little, but you managed to smile and say “My name is Alex.” She smiled back even bigger than before and hugged your face (she's about as big as your hand without her wings) and said “Thank you for saving me! You're the only one who has been able to hear me after 300 years!” You pried her from your face and said “You're welcome.” Suddenly she took a better look at you, then a look of astonishment washed over her face “You're the Queen of Darkness!” she curtsied and became serious “I am most grateful that one of your significance has honored me in-.” you cut her off. “There's no need to be proper.” you smiled. She becomes cheery again and you look at the door, it was still blocked off.
“How do we get out of here?” you asked. She giggles “Like this!” she makes a ball of ice in her palm and throws it at the entrance, but it is sent back at her. “Ahhh!” she squeals and quickly dodges it and it bursts into a thousand pieces as it hits the wall. “Hm, guess its stronger than I thought. I shouldn't have underestimated.” She mumbles to herself. “Huh?” you look at her, confused. “The barrier reflects half of the rescuer's, your, power. So it was only to be expected that my small ball of ice would bounce back!” she smiles at you “So I will have to bless you!” Before you had a chance to let everything sink in, a tornado of ice surrounds your body and a single snowflake lands on your forehead. Suddenly, you feel as thought time has frozen and you can feel a cold chill run down your back as you feel a new power enter your body. You snap out of it and the tornado disperses and you calmly walked to the barrier. As soon as you reached it, the barrier lifted and you walked through. “Such power!” you heard Nami whisper as she followed you, you smirked ay her comment.
“Alex? What took you so long in there?” asked Kazuko. “Little miss hyper here knocked me out cold for a while.” you mumbled. She laughed nervously. “Well, I see you found an Ice Faerie and have gained the power to control ice?” asked Garron (he was sitting next to Kazuko under the tree) “How'd you know?” you asked suspiciously. “I have my ways.” he grinned. “Master Garron!” shouted Nami as she bowed. “Hello again Nami.” he smiled. You walked off saying “I'm gonna take a bath.”
When you got back, Garron and Nami were in deep conversation and Kazuko was starring off at the sunset. You sat next to him and made him jump. “What are you thinking about?” you asked. “Nothing.” he answered, looking away. “Come on, you can tell me.” You nudged him in the arm. “No I cant.” he said in a low voice. “Why not?” you asked. “Its not important.” he said, standing up. He walked away, leaving you in confusion. “He was worried about you.” You turned to see the one who was speaking, Garron. “He's taking a liking to you.” he smiled. You blushed and looked away. He sat down next to you. “You know, Kazuko was not born a Dark Fox.” he said, looking at the darkening sky. “Huh?!” you looked at him “But I thought-.” Garron cut you off “He was once a demon.” You couldn't move, you were completely shocked and didn't know what to say. “Many years ago, the King of Darkness granted him one wish after he saved the life of his newborn child. For some reason, he asked to become a Darokei. The King said that in order for him to become a Darokei, he would have to become a Dark creature and bond with one. Kazuko agreed and became a Dark Fox. I'm not sure, but I think his original name was Kerberus.” Garron simply stood and left you to let this new knowledge sink in.
After it finally sunk in and you were able to accept it, you decided to go to bed. You went into your new shelter and laid on your mat (you bought it when you got the supplies for the shelter, its one of those blow-up mattresses) and you were just about to drift into sleep, when you heard someone's foot steps walk into your shelter. You pretended to be asleep and waited for them to do something. You felt the mat move, indicating that someone had sat down on it. “I cant believe that I actually found you, after all those years of searching.” you knew who it was, Kazuko. “What does he mean by `I actually found you'?” you thought. “It's just like I saw it… before I became a Dark Fox.” he whispered. You were shocked, but didn't move. “I vowed to find you and protect you, but, after I saw the vision of you when you grew up… right now… I fell in love and I decided to try to get closer to you. I never knew that I, Kerberus, the son of the King of Shadows, could ever fall in love.” Your heart stopped. Joy and excitement filled your body. You wanted to scream out “I LOVE YOU TOO!” but you kept quiet, you wanted to wait for the right time to tell him. “Wait, did he just say “the son of the King of Shadows”?” you thought. You felt him crawl next to you and put his arm around you and held you close “I wish I could stay with you forever.” you heard him whisper. You rolled over to face him and snuggled up to him, still pretending to be asleep. You didn't even have to look up to know that he was blushing because you heard him gasp. Finally he relaxed and you both fell asleep.
When you woke up, he was gone. You stretched, deciding that you would pretend you didn't hear anything last night and walked out. You yawned and sat next to the fire. “Hey guys.” you smiled. You heard someone clear their throat. “And girl.” you added. Nami smiled and said good morning. Kazuko looked away, hiding a blush. You smirked at this, knowing why he was acting like that. “What's for breakfast?” you asked. ~~~ After eating, you went back inside your hut (I'm calling it a hut from now on). You sat down and suddenly felt a rush of pain go through your head. You held your head and screamed in your head, not wanting to disturb the others. Suddenly, everything froze and turned grey and the pain left. “What's happening?” your thoughts echoed in your mind as if you were whispering in a cave. Confused, you walked out the hut and looked at your surroundings. Everyone was frozen and grey. Suddenly there came a voice “Alex! Help!” It was all too familiar “Clara!” you screamed. Your voice echoed and she responded “I've been captured by Lord Donovan! He's… hurting me!” she screamed in pain. The pain in your head flooded back to you as everything went back to normal. You panted heavily and everyone stared at you. Kazuko was the first to run to your side, the others followed.
“What happened?” asked a very frantic Kazuko. “Clara… Donovan has her… I have to… save her!” you huffed. His eyes widened “You used telepathy!” Garron shook his head “Not quite, her friend found out a way to call out to her.” He bent down towards you “Is this person of any importance to you?” he asked. “Clara's my best friend! Of course she's important to me!” you said angrily. He sighed then stood and said “Let's go.”
