They always want blood. The festival was perfect for their line of work.

Day Two

-10:00 a.m.-

The bus pulled up at Sapporo. The fans and tourists stepped off. A woman walked off with her hands in her pockets. She came to Japan for the music festival. She breathed in the Hokkaido air.

“I'm here,” she said. The woman pulled out her phone. She tapped the screen for the calendar. The shows started at noon. She smiled to herself. Perfect, right on time. The woman made her way to the tour center.

Gossip is a drug. They can't get enough of it. The lives of musicians aren't safe. The fans want to know everything. Subaru and Katsuya will learn this the hard way.

Let's back up some.

Yoko scrolled around on her phone. Nothing special, really.

“Do you have to do that?” Mai asked.

“Do what?” Yoko asked.

“Look at garbage,” the vocalist said. “I thought you hated gossip sites.”

“I do,” the drummer said.

“So why are you looking at them?” Mai asked.

“Cause,” she said.

“Cause?” the vocalist asked. The drummer shrugged and shook her head. Mai rolled her eyes. Why did she care? They had a show at three.

“Oh shit!” Yoko said. Mai whirled around.

“What?” she asked. The drummer held up her phone. Mai leaned in for a look. A puzzled look came over her face.

“What the…?!” she asked.

“Yeah,” Yoko said. The women looked at each other.

Everyone saw the picture. They can't stop talking about it. Katsuya at Subaru's door. They were kissing too. What was all of that about? Were they a thing now? Did their bands know? This was going to get interesting.

---------

The woman made it to the front desk. She rang the bell.

“Good morning,” the man at the desk said. “How can I help you today?” The woman smiled.

“Hi. I am trying to find the Goodbye Summer Music Festival. Here's my pass,” she said. She slid her laminated pass across the desk. The man looked down at it. A press pass from America. He raised his eyebrow.

“America?” he asked.

“Uh-huh!” the woman said. She flashed a V-sign.

“Ivy Cook!” she said. “I'm here to cover Charm Inu and Lady Dragon!” The man didn't blink.

“Magazine?” he asked.

“Pardon?” Ivy asked.

“What magazine are you with?” the man asked.

“Oh! Here,” she said. Ivy reached into her coat and pulled out her business card. The man stared at it confused. She noticed his facial expression.

“Oh, it says Music Fusion Magazine,” she said. Ivy pointed at the text on the card. The man slid back her card. Ivy smiled and took it back.

“So… can I get directions?” she asked. The man handed her a map. The journalist squealed aloud.

“Thanks! You are the best!” Ivy said. The man rolled his eyes. He started reading the newspaper. Ivy bowed in a fancy way.

“And you have a good day,” she said. She turned and walked out of the visitor's center.

The tongues keep wagging. It's all that damned picture. Is that the real story or is there more?

Only one way to find out.
