Ideas of Fools
Bad ideas could be the start of a new relationship. Everyone can
see the obvious. Why can't Isao and Mai? Well, maybe it's time they
got more help. Subaru turned to Katsuya.
“Baby,” she said.
“Hm?” Katsuya asked. She looked up at him with doe eyes.
“I think Mai-tan and Isao like each other,” she said. Her boyfriend
gave her an odd look.
“What?” he asked. She gave him a little smile.
“Come on,” Subaru said. “Don't tell me you haven't noticed it.” The
male guitarist gave her an odd look. His girlfriend smiled and
shook her head. Men could be slow to romantic tense at times.
“I've seen it,” Subaru said.
“But I thought she hated him,” Katsuya said.
“She does,” the female guitarist said. “She does, but she
doesn't.”
“Huh?” he asked. His girlfriend kissed her on the lips.
“What was that for?” Katsuya asked. Subaru giggled.
“Don't you think enemies to lovers is hot?” she asked. Katsuya gave
her an odd look.
“Not really…” he said. She smiled as she shook her head. The
guitarist gave him a kiss.
“I'll have to show you,” she said. Katsuya raised his eyebrow.
“What do you plan to do?” he asked. Subaru giggled.
“Come along and you will see,” she said. Her boyfriend had an
uneasy look on his face. Subaru was now grinning at him.

Subaru wasn't the only one who noticed.
The matchmaker and his niece met up at the hotel restaurant.
“Well?” he asked. Namiko handed him her notes. She smiled.
“They are a match,” she said. “We can get started.” The matchmaker
read over the notes. He looked up and nodded.
“Good,” he said. Namiko eyed him as she waited.
“So when do we start?” she asked. Her uncle handed back her
notes.
“In the morning,” he said. She tried to hide her disappointment.
Namiko made herself smile.
“Sure,” she said. The matchmaker held up his hand.
“Now, now,” he said. “You can't rush love. That sort of thing takes
time.”
“I know, I know,” his niece complained. She took a breath.
“It's just… I'm invested in this story now. I have to see how it
ends.” Her uncle took her hand. Namiko looked up.
“I know,” he said. “And you will.” She smiled for real this
time.
“Okay,” she said. Namiko slid out of his grasp and drank her
coffee. The matchmaker finished his tea.

Meanwhile, Raja smiled to himself. Everything was going well. Now
he could focus on his wife. He picked up his phone.
“Hey dear,” Raja said. “Let's go out and look at the stars
tonight.”
