“Okay class, here is your assignment for the semester.” The teacher began as she handed out a blank notebook to everyone, “I want you all to keep daily diaries about what happens in your life… Shade what did I just say?”

Shade was sitting next to me with his head down on the desk while writing something. He mumbled, “Write the truth.”

The teacher blinked, surprised that he was listening, “Yes… Well anyways, no one will look at these except me. So don't be afraid to write everything.”

I sighed and thought, `Great… How the hell am I going to make this one work?' I found myself staring at Shade, `I wonder what he's writing…'

The teacher spoke again, “Now I'll give you the rest of the class hour to start writing if you like. Feel free to talk.”
As soon as the teacher said that, Shade lifted his head and sighed while running a hand through his hair… Then suddenly, he looked at me and our eyes locked. He blinked a few times and I could've sworn I'd seen a light blush on his cheeks. He smiled warmly, “Hey… About lunch… I-”

“Forget it.”

He blinked and frowned slightly, “Okay… Are you mad at me for some reason? I mean… We hardly talk anymore…”

I blinked and stared at him before looking away, “It's not my fault your jock friends mean more to you.”

“What? Setasha, where'd you get that idea?”
I glanced at him out of the corner of my eye, “So… I mean more to you than them?”

He blushed slightly, “Why do you carry a cell phone when no one ever calls you?”

I blinked, “I… It's broken.”

“Then why carry it at all?”

“Because I can Shade…”

“Oh…” He looked down slightly.

I blinked, “…You didn't answer my question.”

He blushed again, “Um… What question?”
I sighed as the bell rang, “Never mind.”

He stood up at the same time as me and stared slightly, “…Setasha wait…”

I stopped and blinked while looking back at him, “…What?” He smiled and hugged me from behind. I blushed, “Shade!”

He laughed and let go, “See ya.” He waved to me as he walked out of the room and left me blinking.

Suddenly Rika walked over smiling and her hands locked behind her back. I raised an eyebrow at her, “Okay, I give. What do you know that I don't?”

All Rika did was smile and tap my notebook with two fingers then skip out the room.

I was left alone blinking… What the hell has gotten into everyone?
