Gang
*Yuki*
Toyota took me outside on the roof. I still felt nervous. I couldn't help but to think some trick had to be involved here. Only Annette and Shizuma had ever been so nice to me in their lives. But then again, I *did* help Toyota out a few minutes ago. So, I don't really know. I'll just have to see.
We came over to three other boys. They all looked up at us. I stared on in silence. We all just looked at each other for a moment. Neither one of us knew who should make the first move. I still wasn't too certain. Could be a trap…
Toyota stepped forward. “Guys,” he said. “This is Fujita Yuki.” More silence followed. I began to wonder if I should start backing away or not. But then, an American-looking boy smiled at me brightly.
“Hi Fujita!” he called out. I began to relax some.
“Hi…” I said in a small voice. Toyota smiled once again. He turned to me.
“Yuki,” he spoke up. “This is Katsuya, Sasuke, and Dave.” I looked at each one of them. I had met all earlier in the day. They just came up to me and just started talking to me at random. I didn't know why. I couldn't help but to think some rotten prank had to be involved somehow. But now, it's not looking that way at all. I remembered each boy one by one.
Katsuya Iseki: A typical high school boy. He and I met before homeroom started. Out of the blue, Katsuya just started talking to him. I found it quite strange. The guy never talked to me before in his life. Why all of the sudden change? I learned so much about Katsuya all before class. He made decent grades just like I'm making right now. He had grown confused about his sexuality. He thought that he's gay, but he knows he loves girls. I slowly revealed some things about me. And just like that, I seemed to have unofficially found my first friend since I met Annette. But, I wasn't sure just yet. I still kept up my guard.
Sasuke Kono: Athletic type boy right here. This is another guy that didn't talk to me at all. But just like Katsuya, he just walked up to me and started talking. This occurred during second period. I didn't know what to do at first. This day just kept getting stranger and stranger. I learned so much about Sasuke in that period. He just loved sports. His father played sports in high school and college. So to Sasuke, it seemed natural to do the same as well. I don't know about that one. Sasuke doesn't seem happy to be doing as such. But here in Japan, honor of family is high priority above the individual. That's just how it is in this country. Either way, I had made my second unofficial friend that day. I still kept up my guard. It's not easy for a guy like me to trust someone new right away, you know.
Dave Walker: He's an American transfer student. He came all the way from Virginia with his mom and sister. He seems strange to us all. Like the other two, Dave just walked up to me and started talking as well. He even began following me around. I have to admit, I found him quite creepy at first. I would try to lose him every chance I got. But, he still managed to keep up with me. The boy wore me down to talk to him until I actually did. Dave turned out to be a nice guy. He seemed pretty weird, but he had a good heart. This became my third unofficial friend of the day. I still kept up my guard however. Trust is still hard for me, you know.
Toyota walked over to the boys with his lunch and sat down with them. They all turned and looked at me. I suddenly felt nervous all over. “What should I do?” I thought to myself over and over again. Katsuya smiled at me warmly.
“Come join us Yuki,” he invited me. I froze up for a moment. I really didn't know what to do at first. I swallowed hard at first.
“Are you sure?” I asked.
“Yeah!” they all said together. I stood still for a long while. Still wasn't too sure here. But I guess, it wouldn't hurt not to eat alone for a change.
“Alright,” I said a bit reluctantly. I sat down with Toyota, Katsuya, Sasuke, and Dave. We all ate and talked through lunch. They accepted into their group with open arms. Slowly, my doubt and mistrust began to fade away. Maybe not everyone was out to get me. I could have friends after. And then by the end of lunch, I now had four new friends outside of Annette and Shizuma. But yet, one little thing stuck out in the back of my mind. Would Shizuma come to accept my new friends as well? There could be only one way to see…
