Nubilous Reality

- Chapter 1 : Departure -

 

“Boring…”

“Huh?”

“This world is too damn boring for me…”

“What are you saying, Michael? That doesn't sound like you.”

“I had enough of pretending to be someone else. This is me, Sarah.”

“What's wrong with you? You're acting strange.”

“You don't understand and I doubt you ever will.”

“Try me!”

“I was born in the wrong place and in the wrong time, Sarah. All this technology is supposed to improve our life style and entertain us but it's just boring for me. All of it. Where are the knights, fighting for their kingdom and it's king? Where are the wandering swordsmen, fighting to protect the ones they love?”

“They are long gone, Michael. They are of no concern to us anymore.”

“I told you that you won't understand. I'll be leaving now. We probably won't see each other again.”

Michael stood up from his seat and headed towards the exit door.

“Where are you going? Class is about to start!”

He opened the door and right then the teacher appeared.

“Michael, get back to your seat, please.”

But he disregarded his words and left the classroom.

“Michael, come back here right now!”

It was as though he didn't even hear what the teacher was saying.

<< Alright. I think this should be enough for now. I packed the tent, I have food supplies for over a month, I have plenty of torches and I've also packed my bow. It'll prove itself useful when I'll have to hunt my own food. This should be enough for me to survive. >>

“Michael, dinner's almost ready!”

“I'll be right there, mom!”

<< I have no regrets. I have to do this now or never. >>

He opened the window and looked around to make sure that no one was watching. He then threw his backpack outside after which he also jumped out the window.
