Lady Control

-Igor-

I have a new boss today. It's a woman. Don't look at me like that. Yes, I knew that women could be bosses. Equality and all of that. Women are capable of doing jobs that a man can. It's just… Just… Look at her! Look at her!

She arrived this morning. The sound of high heels echoed in the room. I froze. I knew that sound anywhere. However, they sounded so new. A new hire? I lifted my head. It was like time had stopped. I'm not lying. Time stopped and the air froze.

She was a tiny thing. Her head would come up to my chest. This woman wasn't smiling as she stood in the doorway. Something about that scowl held my focus. We were getting a new boss today. That was all we knew. Sure, there was speculation. So when we all looked up and saw her in the doorway, we didn't know what to think. We watched as we waited for her to make a move.

The woman looked around the office for a moment. My female coworkers held their breaths. I had my eyes fixed on her. I didn't know what was shooting off in my brain. I certainly didn't have time to keep up. Her black dress suit reminded me of my teacher in high school. She even had her black hair up in a bun. And those glass! Mmm! Those glasses, comrade.

I just had to give off a whistle.

However, those cold dark eyes were snapped right over at me. A shiver ran down my spine as I sat at attention. Even from the distance she stood I could tell that she was sizing me up. I jumped up to my feet.

“What are you doing?” Stella hissed. I could barely hear her over the glazed-over look that she gave me. This lady wrinkled her nose as she walked over to the desks. I remained standing as she walked by. One look and my heart was racing. Stella had to tug me to sit down. I think she was lecturing me on what I was doing. It all just went through one ear and out the other one. I had to learn more about that woman of importance when gave me the evil eye before walking by.

We were called in for a board meeting around ten in the morning. The eight of us huddled in the back room. There was only one thing that we had to talk above. I looked next to me at that older fox of a cold woman stood next me at the round table. When did it get so hot in here? She gave me the side eye with that frown that seemed to be carved into her face. Come on! Get it together. You've done this many times. You're just going to introduce this woman to your employees. You can do this. Just do it.

“Good morning,” I said. Seven pairs of eyes stared at me.

“As you all are aware, we have a new overlord on our team,” I said. “I don't think I need to go over what happened to the old boss.” I sneered at the thought of that old man. He worshipped the ground that Putin walked on. Whenever he came to inspect the store, he would try and grope the women. I heard the rumors. We all die. The less said about him, the better.

The cold fox cleared her throat next to me. Another shiver ran down my spine. Oh, right.

“Would you like to introduce yourself?” I asked her. She stepped forward.

“Good morning,” she said. Her husky, seductive voice made me sweat. I fanned myself with my collar. I think I need to go turn on the fan.

“My name is Lenora Bratus,” she said. With every word she spoke, I was hooked. I don't think I remembered everything that she said. I think she was giving us her work back story or something. Honestly, she could've been reading from a phone book and I would be hooked on every word.

“Thank you,” she said. My employees applauded her.

Huh? It's over already? Damn it. I cleared my throat.

“Right! Thank you, Bratus,” I said. “I'm sure we are all looking forward to working with you.” She turned with a look that you would gave an idiot. She shot me in the heart. That's when I knew I fell in love—again.

But she's my boss. Hm… I'm going to have to play this smart if I'm going to get into her pants. Lenora looked like the type to flat-out reject any acts of flirtation. I don't have game like Nikita and Stefan. But I have managed to make it work. Plus, Lenora looked like she was going to be a challenge. Unlike my friends, I love a good challenge.

Now, now. I know what you are thinking. I shouldn't be thinking like that but look at her. Look at her!

This wouldn't be the first time I fell for a cougar that week. Well, there was Kirsa. My heart will always belong to her. But still, there is another one I wanted.
