A/N: I am so sorry! I got so caught up in writing this that I forgot to post the new chapters. I warn you things will change rather quickly and the chapter size has gotten bigger. Now please enjoy the story.

We wound up in Ark and Devlin's room with them both looking at us. “I think we are done here. Come on Natalia we should let them work things out.”

 

We both left the room and the cell phone I never used went off. It had to be Adrian, he is the only one who calls this number and my parents call the phone at the dorm.

 

“Hello?”

 

“Hey Bella are you busy this weekend? A new shop was opening at the mall and I wanted to know if you wanted to go? I understand if you are busy or something.”

 

“Sure let's go. I have nothing planned and I could use some time outside this school. You can meet my roommate if she isn't busy.” Natalia gave me an odd look and I heard Adrian respond.

 

“I will meet you at the school then on Saturday. I always wanted to see your school.” He hung up without even saying good bye. I got used to it at this point actually.

 

Upon returning to our room Natalia sat on the bed and knocked off her shoes. “Who was that Bella? I mean if it is a friend from your old school I would be honored to meet them of course.”

 

“It is my best friend Adrian. He is a little odd but a good guy. He said a new store opened at the mall and he wants to go check it out.”

 

Natalia nodded. “Actually I was going to go check it out as well. Do you mind if I tag along, it seems pointless for us to go separately if we are going to the same place. Oh but if it is a date thing I would hate to be the third wheel.”

 

I never did love Adrian like a boyfriend and he knew that, why is it if you have a male friend everyone expects you to date them at some point? He may have a crush on me but you grow stronger from your dreams being destroyed as cruel as it sounds.

 

We settled on we would all go to the new shop together. Natalia looked through the closet for something to change into when she brought up a topic from nowhere.

 

“Did you ever take martial arts or something, you just seem like the type who would.”

 

In truth in elementary school we had the community center show us some of the things they offered and self defense was one of them. I joined as soon as I was old enough and kept going for a few years.

 

“Self defense at the community center actually. My parents said it really helped control all that energy I had as a kid. It is a good thing to learn given I may need it in someone's mind.”

 

Natalia looked down at the floor and began to stammer. “Could... you teach me?”

 

“Sure but why do you want to learn I am sure your Puppeteer will protect you.”

 

“I am so happy don't you think? If I where to get attacked in this world or another one I would have no idea what to do other then kicking the crotch if it is a guy. I always wanted to learn but I didn't want it to ruin the image I worked on making.”

 

Natalia is the good girl whop seems like she doesn't have a bad thought in her head most of the time. I can understand why she wants to learn it.

 

“We will start next week, get some clothes you don't mind working out in. Maybe we can invite Ark and Devlin too. I do kind of wonder if I could take Ark in a fight and if I can't I have a goal to work towards then.”

 

Natalia went to make tea and I stretchered out on my bed for a bit. I tried to remember that the first day of class Devlin stated that our power are somehow locked with elements and certain things can make us weaker or stronger and not all elements are known.

 

Devlin seemed to be most relaxed around water so I am guessing his is water. It would really suck if mine turned out to be heart because heart is a crappy element and power but it would explain why I get dragged into romance issues more then others. It would certainly be ironic that the person how hates love winds up with the power of heart.

 

I still have no clue if it is indeed the thing I gain power from but I am willing to bet on it, then again I bet on anything.

 

Over the rest of the week we did study the element or power we where most inclined to becoming stronger from. A few student couldn't figure out their element but again not all of them are known. Natalia was wind, Ark was fire, Devlin was in fact water and as I guessed I wound up with heart.

 

Natalia joked about me getting heart through Friday and on Saturday we where awoken ate seven in the morning by knocking on the door.

 

“Wake up sleepy head you said you would go with me to the new store today!” Adrian yelled as I got up an opened the door.

 

“You are going to wake up the whole floor. I thought you meant later in the day and how did you find out my room number?” I asked as I heard Natalia getting out of bed inside the room.

 

“I asked the front desk. Now you two get ready to go okay? I brought a game to play so take your time.”

 

How did Adrian wake up so early? That boy must have the best internal clock in the world that or I need to speak with his mother about him having any sugar when he wakes up.

 

I shut the door and got dressed with Natalia who insisted that my regular clothes where in the wash right now and she offered up a dress of hers. It was shorted on me then her and the chest was rather tight due to the fact I had a bigger bust then her. The dress was nice I admit it was a pale blue color and Natalia gave me a pair of white shoes to go with it.

 

“You look so cute! Well come on I want to meet your friend.” Natalia stated as she finished putting a ribbon in her hair and tied the bow on the back of her white dress.

 

When we walked out Adrian looked to be in shock, I never wore dresses around him much so me in a dress was certainly a sight.

 

“Wow Bella what is the occasion? I am guessing your roommate did this? I applaud you Miss...”

 

“Natalia Viray. She didn't fight me but perhaps she didn't want to upset me. You must be Adrian, it is nice to finally meet you.”

 

As we walked to the front gate we caught Ark and Devlin coming from the pool area.

 

“Well Adrian it is been a while, it is Adrian right? I never introduced myself I am Devlin Zamir and I am sure you remember Ark here. We where going to go visit the new shop at the mall and grab some coffee.”

 

“Actually we are going too, could you give us a ride? Please Devlin?” Natalia asked as she batted her eyes a few times and held her hands together.

 

“Alright but it will be a tight fit in the back for you three. Ark gets to sit up front with me for the obvious reason.”

 

Poor Adrian left out in the dark about the fact Devlin and Ark where dating. It was better that was and it made them dating like some twisted inside joke between us. We all fit in the car with Adrian in the middle of the back seat.

 

Ark was just wearing a whit T-shirt and jeans with tennis shoes but it looked good on him. Devlin was wearing red and white stripped polo shirt and black slacks. How where these two dating again? I mean yes you can't judge people on clothes but just seeing them I would never guess they where together but I guess that is what they want.

 

We got to the mall with no issues and went to the new store. It was a coffee place that had some baked goods. Oh well Devlin and Ark wanted coffee right and I could sure use some right now.

 

We each placed an order and sat at a table waiting for it. Devlin and Ark sat on one side of the booth and Natalia, Adrian, and myself on the other. “So have you invited Adrian to the school festival? I am sure he would love it.” Devlin said looking over the menu on the table.

 

“No I haven't. Do you want to come to the school festival and watch me kill Devlin on stage during the cross dressing contest for telling you about the festival?”

 

“Wait you are going to be in the cross dressing contest? I am going to be there. What about the rest of you?” Adrian asked them.

 

“We are all entered actually. We all seem to have lost bets.” Ark stated as a woman brought our drinks to us.

 

It was then I noticed that Ark and Devlin where holding hands under the table. It was kind of cute in a way. It was like your first date when you thought kissing would lead to you dying of cooties so you just held hands.

 

We all took sips of our drinks, they where either too hot to drink all at once or too cold. While we where waiting for them to hit room temperature a teenager about our age saw and spoke to Natalia.

 

“Natalia I didn't think I would see you here. These must be your friends. I am Gilliam Amery, Mayor Amery's son. My father was busy today so I wanted to see the new shop. Do you mind if I join you? I know it may sound rude but I normally don't get to be around a big group of people to hang out with.”

 

“Well what do you say leader? I mean you are the person that bonds us together in a way Bell?”

 

Me a leader? I guess I could be but really?

 

“Sure. It is always nice to hang out in a big group sometimes. You are welcome to join us Gilliam but how do you know Natalia?”

 

“We met at the park one day. She was playing volleyball in the sand and misplaced her shoes. She left them under the bench I was reading at and I chewed her out for leaving her shoes in such an idiotic place.”

 

Somehow that didn't seem a good way to become friends with someone and this is coming from the cynical one about the world. I guess you can't predict human nature but that is what has made us the superior race on earth, we have adapted and perhaps those with this power and just a further reach of that adaption or maybe some higher power gave it to us.

 

“We started talking after that and became friends. You know we should break into groups of two. Ark and Devlin can be a pair, Adrian and Bella, and Gilliam and myself. We can meet up here in three hours and head home okay?”

 

Natalia and Gilliam left but Ark and Devlin stayed with Adrian and I. “Personally I wanted to stay in the group. Do you mind if we stay with you two?”

 

We stayed as a group. I liked Devlin and Ark so it wasn't much of a problem. It really was more for them so they didn't look like they where on a date.

 

“So how about karaoke, it doesn't cost much for a group and if we do well we get free drinks.” Devlin suggested as Ark and Adrian shot him a glare.

 

“Why not? Certainly these two boys wouldn't be afraid to sing?” It was fun to taunt them. I knew Adrian couldn't sing if his life depended on it but half the fun of karaoke was having the horrible singer sing.

 

Devlin grabbed ark's arm and dragged him along. The things love could do, normally I bet if anyone tried that they would be on the floor in pain if the tried to grab Ark's arm to make him go sing.

 

We arrived at the karaoke place that wasn't really crowded. This would prove to be fun. “Okay to be fair Devlin and I will go first you two relaxed and talk or something.”

 

When we got to the back Devlin pulled me to the side. “You do know I didn't ask you here to sing right?”

 

“I figured as much, you want to enter one of their minds? It is risky to do that in public you know? If you fail to knock everyone out with your song we could get caught.”

 

“I know that. I only wanted to ask you if you would enter Ark's mind with me later. I couldn't ask in front of your human friend could I? You know it would be interesting to go in his mind as well, why have you never attempted to go in his head?”

 

“Do you forget the last time I went inside my friends head they turned around to hate me. I would prefer not to do that again. I think I just would prefer not knowing what is inside one of my friend's mind if I can avoid it. I do wonder what goes on in your mind though.”

 

“Well you should come over tonight and find out. Please leave Natalia behind though.”

 

It was out turn when he finished talking and we went out and sang a recent pop song. It was interesting to see Devlin singing it perfect tune with it while I was falling behind. He was better then me by far and he seemed to be having fun. When the song ended we got applauded and walked off the stage.

 

Ark and Adrian went up to sing as Devlin ordered the drinks and sat next to me and took something out of his pocket. “Mr. Kirkland wants you and I to come in for testing to try and figure out why our powers awakened early. I hope you like hospitals because you and I have appointments tomorrow.”

 

“What are we being tested for anyway or do you not know?” I asked as I played with the napkin while we waited our our drinks.

 

“I have no idea. I have heard rumors of all sorts regarding our powers but no reason as why to someone can awaken early. To my knowledge you will be getting blood drawn though so I hope you don't get sick at the sight of it. I will be taking you there tomorrow and should you need time to rest you are free from class, at least that is what this note says.”

 

He really had no clue what was going to happen to us. I don't really know if I should be happy we are both on the same level here or scared of the fact I have no clue what tests these people want to run on me. I will have Devlin with me so it won't be that bad but personally I really hate hospitals. It just seems every time I set foot in one I get sick the next day.

 

Ark and Adrian finally where up to sing and we learned that perhaps we shouldn't have made the go up there. Listening to scratches on a chalkboard where more appealing then their singing so they where done by the end of the first verse.

 

“Well boys you tried right? How about a round of soda on me for your courage?” Devlin asked as the boys sat down and Ark took the spot next to him. “Adrian could you please got pick up some aspirin from the pharmacy for me? I am getting a little bit of a headache.” Adrian left and I turned to the two men who seemed to be thankful I sent him away.

 

“I am going to look away so if you two want to hug or kiss or something I will be looking through my wallet at old receipts seeing which ones I can throw out.” I began thumbing through my wallet and saw them hug out of the corner of my eye.

 

“You can turn back now. A hug we can get away with but anything else I would hate to risk, isn't that right Ark?” Ark blushed a bit and looked away. Devlin gave him a quick little kiss on the cheek and then turned to me.

 

Adrian returned with the aspirin and we noticed that it was time to meet back up with Natalia. When we did she was sitting down with a bag at her side and reading a book. “Oh hey guys. Are we ready to head home now?”

 

We all went to the parking lot as Natalia walked beside me. “Miyuki is coming back tomorrow. I will be busy helping her and all so..”

 

“I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow actually so it is fine.” It was good to know that Natalia's friend was coming back and she seemed happy. She then handed me a bad and I opened it to see a few skirts with a dress at the bottom. “I thought you would look good in them. I just hope I got the sizes right.”

 

She was trying to be nice and the skirts did look nice but I am not a dress type of person. I could just wear the dress tomorrow to the hospital to make her happy and never wear it again.

 

The day wasn't really eventful after that until Devlin came to our room. “Change of plan we need to go now. I am so sorry Natalia but we will be going to the doctor now.” Devlin dragged me out of me room and to my car. Really what was going on? Was it really that important?
