“Now no more talking your fate is sealed within my sword.” Rowen broke into a run towards Kyle’s position. Kyle stood watching the man coming at him, waiting for the perfect opportunity to dodge the attack. “Fool, why do you stand there?!” Rowen yelled as he lifted his sword shoulder high, ready for his single death blow attack that would cut Kyle’s body in half. Kyle said nothing but when his opportunity came, it came in slow motion. Rowen’s sword powerfully came down, Kyle smiled before he jumped and rolled out of the way. It was Rowen’s turn to become speechless and wide-eyed as he found that his sword hit nothing but the dirt where Kyle use to be standing. The slow motion broke and reality set back in, Kyle was still smiling but it was more evil and sinister. Sweat silently dripped off Rowen’s chin as he felt the tip end of Kyle’s blade brushing up against the right side of his chest.
Kyle gave out a short cocky laugh, “Now what were you saying about how my fate is sealed within your sword, I wasn’t exactly paying attention.”
Rowen gave a disguised look down at Kyle, “Why you....”
“Now, Now,” Kyle said cutting Rowen off as he smiled evilly, “You don’t want your last words to be insulting, do you?” Kyle pushed the blade more into the man’s skin. Through the two layers of clothes he had on Kyle pushed the blade far enough where his enemy’s own blood ran down the glistening blade in one perfect straight line, dripping off where the blade met the hilt.
The moonlight filtered through the trees as the fog started to break up. A lone owl looked down on the two men with wide interested eyes but took off when he seen two more men that were hiding behind a thick tree trunk. One of the mysterious men held a piece of thin wire along with a short sword while the other just held a stainless steel dagger. Kyle heard a disturbance up in the trees but he did not dare take his eyes off of his enemy.
“Now any last words before I cut your body in half?” Kyle asked carelessly.
“Yes matter a fact I do,” Rowen looked into Kyle’s eyes and gave off a toothy mocking smirk, “Goodbye Kyle!” Kyle was confused but then felt a presence behind him. Like lightening he turned his body completely around and with his arm that held his sword, he slashed at the man that stood only a foot behind him. The thin wire that the man held fell to the ground along with a corpus.
As Kyle was ready to turn back again to Rowen, the third assailant came from behind, as he felt a sharp dagger’s blade run faintly across his neck. ‘No, I can’t die...not here,’ Kyle growled to himself. ‘I was foolish I should learn to kill my enemies quicker. I knew there were more men with him why was I so slow,’ He thought of ideas to get out off this dilemma but came up with nothing, but to surrender. Kyle threw his sword to the right as he felt blood trickle down the front of his neck.
“I relinquish,” Kyle said slowly and quietly as he lowered his head in defeat, “Before you kill me I would like one final request.” His hair fell down shadowing his face as he gave off a hidden smile.
Rowen gave out a short mocking laugh, “Yea, and whats that?”
“I would like you Rowen to deliver the final blow, and I don’t want your friend with the dagger here to be involved.” Kyle said in a fake quiet, lifeless tone.
“Alright request granted, Karter let go of him!”
Karter hesitated before letting go. “Yes, sir,” he said slowly.
“Now, lets try this again,” Rowen said walking up to Kyle until he was only two feet away, “Would you like the sword to go through your shoulder and split you in half diagonally or would you like a fast death and have the sword go right through your chest? Your choice.”
Kyle shrugged hopelessly, “The sword going through my shoulder.”
“The slow painful death, alright your choice.” Rowen said lifting his sword shoulder high again just like he did the first time he came after Kyle. “I’ve been waiting a long time for this, now die!” Rowen yelled, his wide crazed glare focused on the quiet Kyle who was staring emotionlessly towards the ground.
A far off growl echoed through the trees, and grew closer. It seemed to mysteriously encircle the perimeter, as if it was waiting for the leftovers of the kill. The owl gave out a eery, dead call and the flapping of heavy wings was heard, when the bird seen Rowen’s sword reflect the moonlight as it came down on its prey. The sound of the sword hitting something familiar rang throughout the forest.
By choosing the sword going through his shoulder it left Kyle with a few extra seconds to dodge the blow, hence the reason why he wanted no one to hold him down. Rowen’s dark grey eyes reflected rage and frustration as the sword hit the ground making the familiar sound. Karter, the one holding the dagger, also seen Kyle’s stunt and was deathly frightened.
“All along you were mistaken,” Kyle said smiling wickedly. “It is I that has both of your fates sealed within my sword.” Kyle looked at Rowen who was burning with aggravation and then at the frightened Karter who was literally shaking. Rowen lifted his sword up and broke into a careless charge towards Kyle. With no words exchanged but only a death glare from Kyle, Rowen out of his frustration, swung his sword sloppily. Their blades clashed sending sparks flying.
“I am taking you down last, be patient!” Kyle snarled threateningly as he broke away from Rowen’s sword. Kyle looked at Karter again and took off at an alarming speed towards his position. Karter with dagger in hand could do nothing but try and dodge, but he was to slow and Kyle’s blade ran through his chest. Karter’s dead body landed lifelessly to the hard ground.
“Now that your friends are taken care of, I think it would be a good idea for you to start talking,” Kyle said, using the bottom of his cloak to wipe the blood off his blade.
