“You must have known their were more with me from the very beginning.” Rowen stated nervously.

“Yes, the noise when you unsheathed your weapons, and the way you ran through the fog, was loud in my opinion,” Kyle answered grinning whipping away the blood from the thin cut on his neck.

Rowen scowled menacingly. “If you need to know where Night Wolf is then your not getting an answer from me.”

“I see, well thats to bad I was going to let you live too.” Kyle said obviously lying from his tone of voice as he got prepared to attack again. It was Kyle who charged Rowen and he was completely opposite of Rowen’s sloppy, and misguided sword technics. Rowen tried blocking his attack but was thrown back by the power that Kyle had behind his sword.

“I know you are the older brother of Trevor, but tell me how did you get so strong?” Rowen asked as his opponent came down with another strike which was blocked.

“Dumb question!” Kyle answered his voice beyond the sound of hatred.

“Because it was I that was there that day with Night Wolf when he killed your brother.”

Hearing this Kyle jumped back from making another blow, anger was clearly on his face. He grabbed the hilt on his sword tighter until his knuckles turned paper white. His other hand formed into a fist as he clenched his teeth tighter.

“And did you partake in the butchering of his body? His body was so badly mutilated that my parents and I couldn’t recognize him!” Kyle yelled running reckless towards Rowen who had a true evil smile upon his face.

“Yes, I helped as well. It was quite fun now that I remember it,” Rowen said laughing insanely like the Devil.

“Shut up!” Kyle yelled back as he clashed swords with the second murderer, “How dare you toy with peoples lives like this. When I am finished with you I’ll make sure you look exactly like my dead brother.”

Kyle applied more pressure to his sword, sending a wave of sparks to come from the heated metal of the two blades. Kyle jumped back and charged again but instead of a frontal assault he dashed behind Rowen leaving him completely overtaken. Kyle hastily turned and thrust the blade through Rowen’s back. Pain quickly over took his victim’s body so much so that he did not even have the chance call out in anguish. Kyle slowly pulled the blade out resulting in the collapse of Rowen’s body. He went around to were Rowen could see his face, kneeling he lifted up his head by his hair and looked into his dying eyes.

“I know that this was only a test. Knowing Night Wolf he would not allow his lowly servants to kill me. His goal is to kill me personally.” Rowen had agitation in his eyes, but said nothing in response. Along with the anger that he lost to a person younger then him he had a certain aurora around him that told Kyle that he was slowly and painfully dying. “Know tell me before you die, where is Night Wolf and what is his real name?” Kyle asked demandingly.

Rowen slightly laughed as blood trickled down from his mouth. “Adann Baine,” he struggled to say his name, “but its impossible to find this killer by his name and I will never tell you his location, because he is never in the same place twice.” Rowen coughed up more blood resulting in his head hanging lifelessly in Kyle’s grasp. Kyle released his hair with a shove and stood back up. ‘Never in the same place twice eh? This should be quite amusing.’ Kyle thought to himself as he went back to his horse who was clueless about the events that just unfolded.

Walking beside his horse down the isolated forest trail he could not help to think of the writing on the church floor ‘The cunning fox and the fang of the wolf.’ He knew that those words predicted their future fight, but what Kyle did not understand was why Adann Baine called him the cunning fox? If the fox was so cunning would he not escape the fangs of the wolf? His fingers ran across his neck which was dried with blood as he looked up at the slow moving, cloud filled, night sky. The stars lost their light as the thick clouds moved over them. Kyle squinted his eyes as he assessed the weather. It was going to rain soon and he had no shelter for the night. Mounting his horse he rode in the same direction he was heading, there had to be a village or town somewhere close by. Maybe out of shear luck Night Wolf would even be located there as well, but his chance of that were very slim.
