Original Stories Fan Fiction ❯ Restoration ❯ Captured ( Chapter 5 )
Ryo lay silently on the bed. He could feel the poison taking control of his body. If only Lee were with him. He would know what to do. Paralysis had set in the day after his battle with Izen. He was forced to be inactive which was something that he rather disliked. He didn't know what to do with himself. Ever since Levin had taken over, Ryo seldom had true free time and now that Levin was dead, he was having a hard time adjusting. Now he didn't have a choice. He was incapable of moving. He wished that Lee was near. He needed his touch. He needed Lee's feministic ways. He needed Lee's mouth on him. He needed the optimism that Lee had. He wanted so much from him but there was absolutely no way to get to his lover.
"Your highness, some of my men have started on their way for the castle," the demon who had brought him into the house said and Ryo looked at him.
"They may not make it back in time. So many of the main roads to the castle were destroyed by Levin's men. If only there was someone here that knew the cure for the poison. How did Izen get it anyway?" Ryo asked as he forced himself to sit up.
"Don't do that my lord."
"At least I can still move. My body hasn't completely locked itself into one position. Has anyone checked Izen's quarters for an antidote?"
"What would the antidote look like?"
"It would be in a container of some sort. I know the smell, I just don't know how to make it. Karu never got the chance to tell me that and Kana never had the time to show me."
"I shall send some men over to his quarters straight away."
Ryo watched him leave and sighed. He tried to lift a hand and became annoyed when it didn't respond. He hated being idle. He had been forced to live in fear for so long that he found it impossible to stay still. If he wasn't slightly paralyzed, then he wouldn't be sitting on the bed watching others do their daily chores.
"Do you need anything my lord?" another demon inquired and Ryo looked at him. He also hated being patronized. He didn't need things done for him. He was perfectly capable of doing things on his own.
"No. Just because I've been poisoned shouldn't make me more important than your duties. I don't like to be fawned over," Ryo said as he tried to move his hand once more. He sighed as he watched the other demon walk out of the room. How he wished he could move. Granted that he could move his chest and neck but what he wanted was a full range of mobility. He wanted to be able to move like the other demons. He then turned his attention to an open window and sighed. His eyes shut slightly in sadness as he realized just exactly what he wanted.
What he really wanted was Lee. He had the sinking feeling that he might not ever see him again. At least not in his current lifetime. He closed his eyes and thought of Lee's face. It could get so expressive at times. He remembered how upset Lee was when Ryo was about to fight Levin. His deep violet eyes were filled with tears. Ryo had never seen Lee so upset. He knew that Lee could get emotional but that was the first time he had ever seen him on the brink of hysteria. Lee would not be able to handle himself if Ryo died. That much he knew. Lee strongly resembled his father, Lendas, in that respect. Lendas had not been strong when faced with the king's death and committed suicide. If Ryo were to die, he knew that Lee would handle his death the same way.
"We found some containers my lord," the first demon said as he and two other demons walked into the room. Ryo tried to lift his hand and swore at its inability to comply with his command.
"Bring them over here. I'd come over there if I could," Ryo said and the first demon smiled.
"I understand your predicament my lord."
Ryo blinked his eyes as he tried to focus. He wished that Izen had injected a poison with less extreme effects into his system as he watched a blurred hand come close to his face. He sniffed the contents of the container and made a face. That was it. He could never forget a smell like that. He was glad that he had actually paid attention to Karu's lesson the day that the antidote was brought up.
"That's it. How could I forget that smell? I have to drink it slowly though. Wait. I'm supposed to do something before I take it. Oh yeah, I have to eat something. The antidote is highly acidic," Ryo said as he tried to escape the foul odor.
"Does it have to be something specific?"
"No."
"Ord, get some of the fish that was cooked this morning."
Ryo squinted as he watched a demon run out of the room. He turned his attention to the wall and sighed. There were some terrible side effects of the antidote and he vainly tried to remember them. He knew the side effects were temporary but what he couldn't remember was the specificity of the side effects. He damned himself for getting into the current predicament in the first place. If he had been a little less like a gentleman than he wouldn't be incapacitated. He blinked his eyes as he tried to focus once again. His ears twitched as he heard the sound of footsteps enter the room.
"Here you go my lord. I hope this is cooked enough for you," Ord said as the first demon took a piece of fish from his hands. He held it up to Ryo's mouth and Ryo encircled his tongue around the meat. He swallowed it and grimaced when the container holding the antidote touched his lips. If only the scent wasn't so strong…He drank the contents and slowly lay back on the bed. He closed his eyes and sighed as he fell into a deep but restless sleep.
Lee and the others rode into the village early the next morning. Lee had smelled Ryo's scent even before they reached the village and he was sure that Ryo had been captured. He had prepared himself for battle but D had taken a quick survey of the village and convinced Lee that the village was a peaceful one. Lee dismounted Nightwing and ran up to the closest house. He knocked on the front door and waited impatiently for an answer. If they didn't answer soon, he would assume that they were holding Ryo against his will and he would take the village by force regardless of what D had said. The door opened and Lee gazed at Ord who stood in the doorway. He took a nervous step back and decided to reorganize his plan. The demon in front of him was enormous with what seemed to be muscles to spare and Lee tried to come up with something that wouldn't enrage the strange demon.
"Who are you? You are not one of our people," he said and Lee gulped nervously.
"I've...I've come from the castle. I received news that our prince is in the vicinity. Do you know anything about it?" he inquired and Ord stepped out of his way.
"I do. You may come in but be quiet," Ord said as Lee entered the house.
"The horses are safe," D said as he and Ikara walked into the house.
"What's going on out here? Who are these people?" the owner of the house asked as he walked out of the bedroom.
"They've come from the castle," Ord said.
"Is he here?" D asked.
"Yes, but he must not be disturbed."
"Disturbed? Why not? If you're holding him against his will, I swear I'll..." Lee said then whimpered slightly as Ord grabbed his hand and wrenched it up behind his back. The owner of the house sighed and snapped his fingers.
"Let him go. Now I'm sorry for that but you were acting irrationally," their host said as Lee massaged his injured hand.
"I'm hoping that brought some sense to him," D commented then glanced back at their host. "Now would you mind explaining what happened here?"
"It's an involved story."
"We've got time to hear it."
Lee waited until their host began talking then slipped out of the room and down the hall. He followed Ryo's scent until he reached the bedroom. He opened the door and stepped inside. It was a small bedroom with a twin sized bed. It wasn't big enough for any serious lovemaking, Lee noted as he sat beside Ryo. He ran his fingers through Ryo's hair and sighed. Something had happened to him just as he feared. He took his boots off and crawled into bed alongside Ryo and laid his head on Ryo's chest. He ran his cheek over Ryo's skin. It was a tight fit for both of them on the small bed, but Lee didn't care. He just wanted to be near his beloved even if they couldn't do anything together.
"Come back to me honey," Lee whispered as he gently kissed Ryo's lips. He ran his fingers down Ryo's chest for a moment then closed his eyes.
"So when will the antidote take effect Raling?" D asked the owner of the house and the demon shrugged his shoulders. They had just finished listening to the tale and no one had noticed Lee's absence. At least not yet. D glanced around and sighed. He would have thought that Lee would have done the logical thing and stayed to listen to the tale but then he remembered that it was Lee.
"I don't know. The poison came from a flower that grows near the castle," Raling said and D stood up.
"Lee would know. I'll ask him. Wait here Ikara."
"He's asleep. The bedroom is this way. I came to check on his highness but I found him there too," Ord said as D walked into the bedroom.
"Wake up Lee," D said as he shook Lee's shoulders. Lee yawned and sat up.
"What is it?" he asked.
"How long does it take for the antidote of a flower devil to work?"
"Why?"
"Because that's what's wrong with Ryo."
"What?"
"If you had stayed in the other room for the explanation, you would know."
"That poison slowly breaks down the skeleton. When did he take the antidote?"
"Sometime yesterday."
"He should be waking up in about a day. However, he will have a temporary loss of sight and memory. He may also be delirious. Why did it have to be that poison?"
"How long will it take him to get back to normal?"
"Three to four days. I won't be able to show my affection for him for awhile."
"I'll leave you alone. You need to get some sleep. His absence has really been a strain on you," D said as he walked out of the room.
Lee untied the rope around his waist and pulled down his pants. He lay beside Ryo and started to stroke his middle wishing that Ryo was actually conscious for what he wanted. He ran his free hand over Ryo's skin and sighed. Why did it have to be the poison from a flower devil? He cried out in a mixture of surprise and pleasure as Ryo's muscles stiffened at his touch. Perhaps he wasn't unconscious. Perhaps he was just in a deep sleep. There was only one way to find out whether or not he was truly alert. Lee hesitantly ran his tongue over Ryo's crotch. He grinned at the response and ran his hands down Ryo's legs. He was definitely alert and capable of feeling, which was a good sign.
"Who's there?" Ryo asked.
"Quiet, hon. You need to rest," Lee said as he continued to stroke Ryo's middle.
"I can't see."
"Your eyesight will return soon."
"Who are you?"
"Someone who loves you. Can you feel it?"
"Yes. I've never felt anything like this before. Are you sure we know each other?"
"I'm sure. Close your eyes, honey. It's disturbing to have you stare at me like that."
Ryo closed his eyes as he felt Lee's mouth encircle his flesh. Without his sight, the sensation was much more intense. He began to gasp for air as his excitement started to grow. Lee gazed up at him and grinned. Even though his memory was gone, the electricity between them was still present. He felt Ryo's muscles enlarge as he prepared himself for what he had been missing. It was a stretch, he told himself as he tried to take it all into his mouth. What Ryo carried between his legs was something that mere humans could only dream of. He gently stroked Ryo's inner thighs as he continued to trace the outlines of veins as Ryo continued to grow in thickness.
At least the trust was still there, Lee thought. It had been hard, when they first started out. It was true that when he had run into Ryo half frozen in the snow, he had never thought that the stubborn human he was helping out was actually his promised lover. Even when he had convinced Ryo to show his true self, the romance hadn't exploded with passion. It wasn't until Lee had convinced Ryo to take a bath together that the electricity had started to spark between the two. Even after they had "done it" with each other, there was still a lot of work for Lee to do. Since he had been forced to be on the run for so long, Ryo had developed a strong distrust for others and it had taken Lee a long time to break through his defenses. Lee gazed up at Ryo, a milky liquid dripping from his mouth. He licked his lips and wished that Ryo could have at least seen the look of pleasure on his face.
"What's wrong?" Ryo asked as he fumbled for Lee's hand. Lee took Ryo's hand and smiled. He brought Ryo's hand up to his face and ran his cheek over Ryo's skin.
"Nothing. I was just thinking about how we first started out. Your loss of sight and memory reminded me of it for some reason."
"How long has it been?"
"Three years, honey. What are you doing?"
"I'm trying to get an idea of what you look like."
"Your eyesight will return, baby."
"Why did I lose it in the first place?"
"You were poisoned darling. You've been given the antidote and you'll be better soon. Now come on. We both need some sleep."
