A/N: Well, I'm really, really discouraged. No reviews. Is it because nobody is reading this? Is it because no one feels like reviewing? Or is it just because it sucks? Personally, I don't think it sucks, but I'm biased. I'd just like to know what other people think. So, if anyone is actually reading, please let me know. Thank you.

Disclaimer: I don't own the Edmonton Oilers and the characters are totally made up by me (except Craig MacTavish) and any resemblance to real life people is merely coincidental.

Chapter 7:

Aiko was sitting down on a bench brooding in her own little corner. Her sister and brother were around the corner standing in front of the player's dressing room. She found it was easier for them to get autographs with her out of sight, on account of all the players wanting to avoid her like the plague.

So there she was, sitting all alone, waiting for Tony to come out and take them out for lunch. And there's another situation she wanted to avoid.

She didn't hear the footsteps approaching her; she jumped when a voice said, “Hey!”

Aiko looked up to see Matthew standing there, a smile still on his face despite what happened. “Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you.”

“Umm… that's ok; I was just lost in thought.”

He came and sat next to her. “About what happened?” she nodded. “The Coach just gave me hell for it. Tony's taking his turn right now.”

“Nice,” she stated mildly.

“I'm sorry about that too,” he apologized. “It was stupid and childish.” She looked up to see the sincerity on his face. His bright blue eyes pleaded for her forgiveness.

She couldn't deny him. “It's all right.”

He let out a sigh of relief. “Thanks… why aren't you over there getting autographs with your sister and brother?”

She smiled wryly at him. “Because none of the other guys will come near me with a ten foot pole.”

“Why not? You're hot!” he exclaimed, taking a moment to take in her blue oilers body hugging t-shirt and short black skirt.

“Umm… hello,” she started, practically laughing. “You two fought over me. Therefore none of the guys want to get caught talking to me for fear of getting their faces bashed in.”

“Ouch, sorry again,” Matthew said, chuckling. “I could give you my autograph if you want, though it's probably worthless to you now.” He suggested offhandedly.

Aiko's brown eyes lit up. “Really? It wouldn't be worthless to me.” She eagerly unzipped her purse and grabbed a black sharpie. “Here.”

He took the pen out of her hand and said, “Ok what do you want me to sign?”

Aiko looked around; she didn't have anything, her sister and brother had it all. She really didn't have anything to sign except…

“How about my shirt?”

“Your shirt?” she nodded. “All right, where?”

Instantly and impulsively she pointed to the spot right above her heart. “Right here,” she told him, looking down at the spot.

She heard his sharp intake of breath and looked up to meet his intense stare. “All right,” he agreed.

Uncapping the pen, his hand rested on her chest as he wrote. His touch was warm and gentle. It was all she could do to keep from gasping. She couldn't help thinking that she wanted him to touch her again.

When he lifted his warm hand from her, she didn't know she could be that sad.

“There, read it.”

She looked down and read the upside down words. “To Aiko: Your dreams will come true. Love Matthew McKenzie #18.”

“Aww… that's sweet. Thank you.”

“Your welcome,” then he paused before an impish grin overcame his face. “So… did my touch turn you on?”

“What? No,” she said quickly, crossing her arms over her chest and standing up. “No I'm just a bit cold.”

She shrugged on the sweater she had with her, zipping it up. She whirled around to give him a piece of her mind and came practically nose to nose with him. Aiko let out a gasp at his proximity and felt his hand come to rest on her lower back.

His lips were so close to hers and she couldn't help eyeing them. They were moving and she strained to hear what he was saying over her beating heart.

“Did anyone ever tell you you're really cute when you're all angry with righteous indignation?” he asked softly. And that's when she dipped in for a taste of those lips. Taking his lower lip between her own, she sucked gently and then pulled back. Quickly he pulled her back and deepened the kiss into something more, filled with wild promises.

One more time they pulled apart, Matthew leaned into her and whispered into her ear. “Do you have any idea how much I want you right now?” His hot breath on her ear, along with his words sent delicious shivers down her spine.

The sound of Tony's voice was like a cold bucket of water being dumped on her fire. “Where's your sister guys?” she heard.

Pulling back reluctantly she said, “I've got to go.”

“I know,” Matthew sighed.

She took his hand and quickly wrote her home and cell number there. “Just in case, you know, you want to call me or something. Ok, so I'll see you soon?”

“Yeah,” Matthew answered breathlessly.

And then she fled around the corner.

“Oh man guys,” Aiko said as she swooned down onto Yumi's bed.

“What's with her?” Laila asked as she walked into the room.

“Close the door and we'll tell you,” Yumi prompted.

Laila eagerly complied; looking at Aiko's distraught state, she knew this was going to be good.

“So… spill!” Lai exclaimed, when no one said anything.

“Ok, so yesterday Aiko went to the Oilers practice with her brother and sister, invited by Tony Nieminen,” Sarah started eagerly.

“Matthew and Tony fought over her on the ice,” Yumi piped up, unable to contain her giddiness. They heard Aiko groan loudly from the corner of the bed.

“And then she talked to Matthew alone and they kissed,” Sarah took over, a gleam in her eyes.

“They kissed? Her and Matthew, when Tony invited her there first?” Laila asked, a frown momentarily on her face. “Wait… that's awesome!” Laila suddenly grinned.

“Don't remind me,” Aiko grumbled.

“That's not all, she kissed him first!” Yumi exclaimed.

“And, and…” Sarah strained to be heard over the excited giggles. “Do you know what he said to her after?”

“No, what?” Lai asked, practically jumping up and down.

“That,” Sarah started. “He wants her.”

“Oh my god!” Laila shouted.

All three girls squealed in delight, drowning out Aiko's shushing noises. She gave up and covered her face with a pillow.

“Oh man, Aiko you're so lucky!” Laila screeched out.

Aiko lifted the pillow then and sat up. “Lucky, lucky how? I went to lunch with Tony after that. Do you know how guilty I felt? I'm an awful person!”

“You're not an awful person,” Yumi comforted. “It's not like he's your boyfriend or anything.”

“No… he's not,” Aiko agreed. “But… I still shouldn't have done all that while out with another guy.”

“What they don't know can't hurt them,” Laila replied. “That's what I always say.”

“Oh yeah, where's your boyfriend?” Aiko teased.

Laila threw a pillow at her, laughing with all the girls. “Shut up.”

“Speaking of boyfriends…” Yumi started, suddenly shy.

“Tell us!” Laila demanded.

“Aiko you're not the only one going out with a hockey player,” Yumi confided.

All the girls, including Aiko, squealed this time. “Yumi, he called you?” Sarah asked eagerly.

“Yeah, Hugh called last night and asked if I want to have dinner with him tonight.”

“Oh that's awesome! We'll help you get ready tonight!” Aiko exclaimed.

Suddenly, Aiko's phone rang interrupting their conversation. She grabbed it off of Yumi's dresser and checked the number. Her heart skipped a beat and she gasped unintentionally.

“Who is it?” Sarah asked curiously.

“Umm… I'll be right back guys.” Quickly, before anyone could protest, Aiko left the room and walked to the next one over, the guest room, shutting the door behind her.

Taking a deep breath she flipped her phone open. “Hi,” she said breathlessly.

“Hey,” Matthew answered back; was it her imagination or did he sound a little breathless as well? “How are you?”

“I'm fine,” she answered. “You?”

“Good, good,” he said quickly. There was a long pause before he blurted out, “I can't stop thinking about you.”

Aiko couldn't help but grin widely at his statement. She felt a warm feeling building in her stomach. “I can't stop thinking about you either,” she admitted.

“I want to see you and soon,” he informed her. With every word he uttered, molten lava pooled inside her. “Is there any way you can come over tonight? I want to make you dinner and we could watch a movie together.”

Aiko bit her lip in frustration. She wanted to, she really did. But could she convince her parents to let her go to a man's house? Unlikely. Oh, how she wanted to see him!

“Yes!” she breathed out. She'd figure things out somehow.

“Really?” Matthew asked, suddenly sounding unsure of himself.

“Yeah, Matt, I really want to see you too,” she told him quickly to dispel his doubts.

“Ok, good, good,” he said happily.

He proceeded o let her know where he lived, the time and everything.

“I'll see you soon Matt,” she said affectionately.

“I can't wait,” he replied.

Closing her phone she leaned against the door and took a few deep breaths. She was going to his place. It was too much to hope for and she had it.

Walking back to Yumi's room , the girls quickly pounced on her.

“Who was that?”

“Why'd you leave the room?”

“Why do you look like you have a fever? Here let me feel your forehead.”

Aiko brushed Yumi's hand away. “That was Matthew. I'm going to his place for dinner tonight,” she said in a dazed state.

“Well Laila looks like we got two girls instead of one to make glamorous, I've got clothes you do hair!” Sarah exclaimed.
