He smiled and pulled her onto his back. Grabbing her thighs he pulled her up. Looking at the rooftop he smirked. "Hold on," he whispered. In one easy jump he pushed them both onto the roof of the building. From there he stuck to the rooftops and alleyways. His long strides pushed them across the ground with such speed and agility that it looked more like he was gliding than running. Within a few minutes he jumped off of the rooftop and landed in another alleyway. He knelt to the ground so that she could get off. "See. That wasn't so bad."

She smiled. That was rather fun. She fixed her uniform then walked out the alleyway and to the mall. She went straight for the most expensive store. The place she always bought her clothes. The manager smiled as she walked in.

"Alana! Doll! So lovely you have come to see us!" he said as she looked at him.

She gave him a credit card. "Something no one else has. Something no one else can get. Something perfect," she said.

He smiled. "I have just the thing!"

Alana looked at Yori. "I want the same thing for Miku. Something perfect." He just looked at her and she held out her hand. "If you don't want to do it, I'll find someone else who is willing to take my money."

"No! I have just the thing for him!" he said quickly and smiled again.

Alana smirk. She looked at Yori again. "Come on."

Yori was still trying to get accustomed to people doing stuff for him just because Alana flashed her money around. He wished that she didn't have to do that, but he also knew that he wasn't going stop her either. Grinning and bearing it, he followed her through the store to see what was just perfect for them.

The manager pushed aside the workers telling them to more from the area. He always did that when Alana came. She was like a God in that store. She spent more than anyone else there. He disappeared in the back and came to her with a beautiful dress that was cream colored and thigh length. It had thin straps and a box neck line. It was covered with a outline of lace and had a thick ribbon below the breast. A jewel sat in the center of the bow.

"I've been saving this for you. One of a kind," he said as she ran her hands over the material.

"It's perfect. Shoes? Jewel?" she asked while looking at him.

He snapped his fingers and the workers started gathering shoes and jewelry for Alana to look at. She went down the line, picking out a necklace, a pair of heels, a bracelet, and some earrings. He snapped his fingers again and they all scattered, taking her things and wrapping them up. She looked at the manager and watched him leave again. He came back out with a matching suit for Yori. The tie was the perfect color for the dress.

"I'll have to alter it for...obvious reasons. But it is the matching suit to your dress. One of a kind," he said slowly.

"I want the shoes with it. Take his measurements and do the alterations," she said and sat down.

"Now?" he questioned.

"I need it for tomorrow. Hurry up," she said and grabbed a magazine.

"Yes, of course," he said grabbing his measuring tap and going to Yori.

Shoes? He looked down at his feet. Shoes had never really been big for his kind, but if Alana wanted him to wear some he would. He tried hard not to, but it became obvious that he was visibly tense as the man neared him. He sniffed the air, but didn't say a word, just complying with what the man told him to do as he moved and stretched so that he could get the correct measurements for him.

Alana watched with a trained eye on the manager. Once he was done, he disappeared in the back and ordered his workers to make Alana and "her guest" feel at home. Alana ordered some sushi for Yori and her while they waited. She patted the seat next to her and he sat down.

"You look pale? Are you uncomfortable, Miku?" she asked as she put the magazine down.

He shook his head, but he knew that she would be able to see through his lie. "I'm just not comfortable around so many humans," he admitted when no one could hear. "Especially not when they're waiting on me. It just feels...weird."

"Well, now that you work for me, you will have to get use to it," she said smiling. The workers brought out their sushi and Alana smiled. "Eat up." She watched as the workers left them alone. Her fingers lightly brushed his tail. "You're special now and hopefully, after I meet with the president, I'll be able to make sure all Eldarians and other aliens will have the right to be special too. At least as special as you are being treated now."

He smiled at that. Not because he wanted to be treated special, but because he thought about his sister's being treated like this with people being nice and helping them. His tail swished lightly as he picked at his sushi. That would be nice.... His sister's being treated as equals. "I hope that everything goes okay," he said after a few moments. "Cause I would love to bring my sister's here one day. They would love it." He was smiling as he thought about his sisters enjoying the mall and being able to shop at the nicer stores.

"If your sister would let me, I would love to bring them here and buy them things. But just getting her to take money is like pulling teeth. She won't even come swim in my pool." She ate her sushi and looked over at him. "Will you be there tomorrow or will Goldie?"

He shrugged. "I'd like to be there," he told her. "But I think it might be better for him. He's less likely to embarrass you and dad. So I'll probably let him take control."

"It's not the embarrassment I'm worried about. It's...what will happen while I'm on stage. I'm not liked very much and I think...I think having him there, makes me relax more. Not because I think he will protect me more but because I know that he will think for himself. He's sharp and if something should happen, he won't let his feelings for me get in the way. I need him to think like a bodyguard...not...not" she looked up at him, "well, you know."

The manager came out with Yori's suit and she stood. "I'll wrap this up for you."

Alana nodded and started walking to the door.

Yori took their bags and carried them with him as the exited. He was quiet, which was rare for him. He kept thinking over what she had just said about his other half. If he let the golden eyed him protect her...would he? Would he think like a guard instead of someone who would gladly give.... He stopped, his ears twitching as he thought about that. Would he? Would he really do that? He watched as Alana walked ahead of him, completely oblivious to the fact that he had stopped moving.

Shaking his head, he hurried to catch up to her.

The next day, Alana had to take caffeine pills. She stayed up all night writing the speech. She felt the last rib heal completely earlier in the morning with the bone pills she had been taking. She was hoping that there would be no difficulties this time around so she wouldn't have any other broken bones. Putting on her dress, shoes, and jewelry then pulled her hair back with diamond pens then put on some makeup.

Looking over at Yori, she watched him change into the suit then become Miku. "You don't have to wear the shoes if you don't want to. I wasn't sure if you would need them so I got them anyways."

He looked down at his feet and tried to move them in the shoes. They felt so...suffocated. "No...it's be okay," he told her. Leaning forward, he gently pressed his lips to her's one last time before he let the other him take over.

Golden Yori pulled back and began fussing with his tie. "Okay princess," he said with a smirk. "Let's go and get shot at again."

"Don't call me that and we aren't going to get shot...I think," she mumbled. Grabbing her coat, she slipped it on and fixed his tie. "I'm glad you are with me today," she said quickly and they started out.

He rolled his eyes. "Yeah, whatever you say princess." He smirked as they got into the hover cab and road to their destination. Getting everything set up was harder than he thought, but he was finally comfortable with the fact that bad things were going to happen. At least he thought they would. His father was already there giving his portion of the lecture. Alana was up next.

Alana looked at her cards. She went over her speech again and again. The caffeine pills messed with her body and she shook her arms about to make her stop feeling so heavy. She pulled out a few more pills and popped them in her mouth while pacing. Her heart started beating faster. She looked over at Yori.

"I want you standing beside me while I talk today. I'm more nervous than usual," she said.

He nodded. "Don't worry. Me and fish boy will be with you every step of the way. And if you get shot at again I'll switch to him so he can get shot." he smiled, trying to lighten up her mood. "You know, those caffeine pills can kill you. Don't take too many."

Alana waved him off. "I'll worry about my my health. You worry about my body," she said. Suddenly she stopped and turned to him again. Moving in to whisper, "And I don't mean the kinky way either," she said quickly.

She was called on stage and suddenly she started to shake. She just stood there for the longest time, trying to get up the nerve, and shake the sleep from her body. Again, she took another caffeine pill. They called her name again. Taking a deep breath, she stepped on the stage and cameras started flashing. She blinked a few times to adjust to the light as she stood at the podium. Everyone started at her and someone yelled out whore. They started laughing. Alana looked down at her cards. Why was she so nervous?

He smirked. "When don't I think about it the kinky way?" They were soon standing up by the podium. He was positioned directly to her right, standing right beside her. He could tell that she was freezing. She was nervous. There were a hundred different reasons as to why, but he had a good feeling as to what was going on.

Closing his eyes, he talked to fish boy for a brief moment. Moving to her and placing his hand over the projector, he went to act as if he was fixing her cards for her. "You'll do fine," he whispered, his thumb caressing her hand as he moved her cards about. "Just remember why you're doing this."

With that he stepped back so that she could give her speech.

Alana looked over at him. A soft smile spread across her lips and she slowly turned to the crowd. "Thank you for having me today. Despite that half of you don't want me here, I'm honored to be standing here alongside my friends and you, the audience." She pushed her cards aside and pulled the microphone down for her.

Her speech was long, and the best she had done so far. The place was quiet and for the first time, she relaxed and let the calm take her over. The caffeine pills kicked in and she let her nails dig into the wood of the podium. Her chest felt tight and she felt heavy once more. She pressed on.

Yori kept his eyes on the crowd. He was listening and trying to keep track of everything that was going on. That was a lot easier said than done when he continuously found himself stealing glances of Alana. The entire mood of the crowd seemed to change. He wasn't certain if anyone was going to try anything, but right now he had high hopes that everything would be okay. He really didn't feel like having to create a new identity again because he tore someone to shreds.

Alana was at the last stretch of her speech, when she felt her legs go weak. The pills were making her crash. She stumbled back and grabbed the podium for stability. She paused and blinked a few time. The crowd began to whisper. Looking down at her cards, she couldn't read them anymore. Her eyes were blurry.

Hanging on to the podium she whispered, "Close the curtains as soon as I'm done."

She knew the Eldarians around her would hear and someone moved to the cord to pull it when she was finished. She cleared her voice and said the last few paragraphs she had left. Stumbling back once more, the curtains fell and she let go of the podium as her eyes rolled back and she fell towards the floor.

Yori caught her as she fell. Falling to one knee he sighed and moved hair out of her face. "I told you those damn pills would be the death of you." He looked up at his father who was already on the phone. "Just get her some water and some food. She hasn't eaten anything all day. Tell Mr. President that he'll have to wait a little longer before their meeting."

His dad sighed and nodded as he switched over to the next line.

As he moved her over some place to lay down he felt his hands begin to shake. "Easy fish boy," he whispered. "She's fine. Just worn out."

Alana came too an hour later. She was instantly met with a glass over water and a plate of food. People hovered about her, checking her head and pulse. She pushed them all away. It wasn't like she was a celebrity or anything, but they were treating her like it. She stood and wobbled then sat back down.

Her hands shook as she drank the water. Looking around she called to Yori's father. "I'm sorry. I embarrassed you," she said.

He shook his head. "You did wonderfully. As soon as you're up to it the president would still like to meet with you."
"She's in no condition to see him today," Yori told him. Moving between Alana and his father. "Let her rest today. She can speak with him tomorrow."

Alana stood and put her hand on his back. "No, I can do it. I'm ready. It won't happen again," she assured him.

Yori turned toward her, his eyes narrowing as he looked her over. "Are you certain?"

Alana smiled. Golden Yori was worried about her. "Yes, I'm certain." She took a few steps to his father. "Please tell the President I am sorry for my tardiness."
