“Unexpected Ally”

…the fire hit the building directly and, in a matter of seconds, the cafeteria (and Azami's home) exploded.

All happened too fast. When Azami regained consciousness again, she found herself on her back over the street. Then she slowly opened her eyes, and saw Arthion over her, protecting her body with his own… but what surprised her the most was the darkness above her. Azami, surprised, wondered if it was already night, but then realized that something was covering her, something that came from Arthion's back.

Arthion had been searching the attacker, but Locien was nowhere to be seen. Moments later, he realized Azami was awake and stared at him with wonder; immediately he stood up, a little embarrassed about their position and afraid of the reaction of all the curious people that was starting to gather - he didn't want them to see what he was-. When he stood up, Azami could finally see what was covering her: she saw an enormous pair of black wings, similar to those of a bat, which came from the young man's back. She watched wide-eyed at the cuts of his face and cloak (caused by the glasses); he seemed scared and angry at the same time. Before she could react to the shock of loosing all she had in an instant, he grabbed her arm and said, “We must go!” and both of them started to run.

Some time later, they were hidden in an unoccupied house; Azami had tried to look to Arthion
