Again, the characters inthis story are from my imagination and no where else and any similarity in names is purely coincidental.
Remembering the incident last night, I reminded myself to beat the real reason he was in my room last night out of his gorgeous blond head. Wait gorgeous!! What is wrong with me!! I mentally screamed at myself. Well technically nothing, because over half of the female population would agree that everything about Chase is gorgeous. Okay, too much thought for this early in the morning. I thought yawning. In case you can't tell, I'm not really much of a morning person.
As Imade my way to the kitchen, I could smell something cooking. Oh crud, I hope it isn't Victoria!! I thought, picking up the pace of my walk down the stairs. When I reached the kitchen the sight I knew I was going to see greeted me. My nine year old sister was trying to make pancakes. I looked at the plate thta she was putting them on, only to see that the pancakes were only cooked on one side. The gooey side that she hadn't cooked was running everywhere. It was kind of cute that she wanted to cook, but I had to stop her from making a bigger mess than she already had.
"Oh Viccy, what are you doing?" I asked laughing a little when she turned to look at me. She had pancake batter on her cute little face and her pretty blue-green eyes were shining. She was one of teh cutest little kids I had ever seen.
"I'm makin' pancakes for you and Sammy!" She said, her smile getting wider because she had called our brother by the special nickname she had for him.
"Well, I think you made enough, so why don't you go wash your face of and play with Diesel." I said taking the skillet from her. Before you think, 'Oh my gosh! She just told her little sister to go play with something dangerous!', don't worry, Diesel is our dog. I didn't want to know what was in the pancakes, how she got to it, or how she had gotten to the skillet. All I wanted to do was clean it up before Dora, my stepmom, saw it. I dumped the pancakes into the garbage and then went to get the batter, of questionable content, so that I could do the same to it.
When I had picked the bowl up to go dump it, I felt a pair of arms go around my waist. Not realizing who it was soon enough, I followed my self-preservation instincts, and I dumped the whole bowl of the supposed batter on the owner of the arms. I turned around to just in time to see Chase's face, which I have to say, was probably one of the funniest things I had ever seen. He was so shocked that all he could do was stared wide eyed at me. My mouth was open, and I couldn't fight the giggles that rose in my throat. I wasn't the only one that thought it was funny, either. When my brother and Hayden walked in, they burst out laughing.
"Chase, man, that is a wonderful new look for you." Hayden said, causing me to laugh even harder.
"Yea, I'm sure you'll have tons of girls swarming all over you." Robby said doubling over.
"Or at the very least, you'll catch the attention of all of the stray animals around here." I managed to get out before doubling over with laughter along with Hayden and Robby.
A few minutes later, after we had managed to calm ourselves down, I looked up and noticed that Chase was just standing there with a calculating look on his face. He was up to something, and I didn't wan to stick around and find out. Unfortunately, I didn't really get much of a choice.
"Now Alan, you know that I couldn't take all of teh attention away from you, so maybe I'll share it." Chase said as he smeared a glob of the batter into my hair. My mouth opened and my eyes widened at the fact that Chase was brave enough to do something like that. Fortunately, for him anyways, my anger was aimed at the two laughing boys that didn't have anything gooey anywhere on their person. Well at least they didn't.
I grabbed two handfuls of batter off of Chase and threw them at Hayden and Robby. My first batterball hit its target, which was the middle of Hayden's face. The second missed, and instead of hitting Robby's face, hit him in the chest. Of course, I knew that it meant war.
"You're gonna pay for that you little brat!" Robby yelled scraping as much of the goo as he could off of his shirt and throwing it at me. Luckily for me, I play dodgeball at school quite a bit. I ducked down behind the island that seperated Chase and me from Robby and Hayden, and the globby ball hit Chase on the chest. Robby just signed his death warrant.
Deciding I needed a bit of ammo, I stood up to go get some more batter from Chase when a huge glob of batter hit me in the back of the head. How could I have forgotten about Hayden. He had waited for me to drop my guard. smart boy. Well, sort of. I quickly ran to Chase and scraped some of the batter off of him. I combined it and the glob off of the back of my head and threw it at Hayden. I missed, but I managed to hit Dora. OH CRAP!! I'm pretty sure it was on all of our minds. All four of us just stood there, staring at my stepmom. I knew I was in for it.
Slowly, she wiped the batter off of her face and gave me a part disapproving, part amused look.
"Alanna Leanne Price, do I even want to know?" She said, traces of humor in her voice.
"Probably not, knowing her." My dad said walking up beside her and putting his arm around her. I gave him my best winning smile, but I think the goo that was dripping off of my head ruined the effect. He started laughing though. That was usually a good sign.
"Alanna, clean this up. Then go clean yourself up. You three do the same. My sister is coming to visit, and although we all know she would love this, I would like to give off the impression that there is some semblence of order in this house." He said as he and Dora turned and left, whispering conspiratorially. I wondered if they noticed that they didn't even get what they had came in here for.
"God luck Alanna, good luck Chase!" Hayden and Robby yelled in unison.
"Hey! Where the heck do you two think you're going?" I yelled, knowing that they had no intentions of helping. They'd probably just saysomething like, 'Well you guys started it.' or something stupid like that.
"You guys were the first two in on it. We were just innocent by standers." Do Iknow them, or do I know them.
"Fine! But there's no way you're getting out of this!" I said, turning to Chase.
"Yea, yea. I know." He said turning around to go get the mop. It was funny, because he knew our house jsut as well as we did.
As I was wiping counter off, I suddenly remmebered that I had a questino to ask.
"Hey Chase." I said casually, as if I were just going to tell him some random information like I so often did.
"What?" He said as he put the mop back in the clsoet.
"Why were you in my room last night?" I asked, turning to look at him.
"Well, you see, I figured that since you weren't here it would be the perfect time to go through you're drawers and see if I could find..." He quit as I threw the dirty rag and hit him in the face with it. He laughed and threw it into the dirty laundry basket that sat in the hall.
"I want a serious answer, please!!"
"Okay, the truth is, I was looking for your diary, and i triped and fell on your bed, and it was just so comfortable that I decided to take a little nap." He said looking me straight in the face the whole time. He didn't even crack a smile. I glared at him, then turned and walked up the stairs, all of the way to my bathroom to take a shower. I'm so glad I know how to hide my journal really, really well. I thought as I entered the shower.

Chapter Two
When I opened my eyes the next morning, I wished that I could just roll over and go back to sleep. Unfortunately, once I wake up, I can't go back to sleep. So instead of being like my lazy brother, I rolled out of bed and headed down to the kitchen. Usually, I would have changed clothes before leaving my room, but I hadn't bothered to change last night, so I was still in the clothes I wore to the concert. I'm glad I didn't try to change clothes last night; Chase would have gotten an eye full that's for sure.Remembering the incident last night, I reminded myself to beat the real reason he was in my room last night out of his gorgeous blond head.
