“Something wrong?” I blinked as we stood next to a small stonewall.

He smiled at me, “We're here. Close your eyes, okay?”

I blinked, “…Close my eyes? Why?”

He smiled more, “It's a surprise remember?”

I sighed, “Fine.” I closed my eyes and he started leading me down a set of stairs and I gripped his shirt, “Shade, I'm going to fall!”

I heard him laugh and whisper in my ear, “Don't worry… I wont let you fall.”

I felt my face flush as he picked me up bridal style, “Shade!”

I put my arms around his neck and heard him laugh again, “I'm not going to drop you Setasha. I promise.” I leaned against him as he carried me down the stairs.

He stopped at where I assumed was the bottom and he put me down, “Okay, open your eyes.”

I opened my eyes and gasped as I put a hand over my mouth. A beach… He had led me to a beautiful beach and pure blue water that glistened in the sun, “Oh my god…”

He frowned when he looked at me. I looked like I was about to cry, “Hey… What's wrong?”

I felt his hand on my back as I wiped the tears away, “I… It's nothing… The water is so beautiful…”

It's the beach… Remember?

I shook my head and Shade could tell something was wrong, “Setasha? …Are you okay? You just got really pale…”

The beach… The stars… The faces… The voices…

“I-” I cut myself off and looked at his shoes… They were black…

The footprint on the beach… The black shoes… The blond hair…

“Setasha?”

I looked up at him, “Shade… You said you thought we met before… Where did you think that was?”

Believe in second chances… Mirai yori mo ima ga kanjin.

He blinked and sighed softly, “Honestly… I can't remember… But I feel like I've known you my entire life… Like we talked just yesterday, but I know we didn't…”

You wrote it all down in the notebook didn't you?

I blinked, “The notebook?”

Shade blinked as well and raised an eyebrow, “…What notebook, Setasha?”

The notebook you buried on the beach… About what happened there. You wrote it all in the notebook. Remember?

Shade slid an arm around my waist, “Setasha, who are you talking to? What notebook?”

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath… I bent down and reached into the sand and grabbed something. As I stood up I pulled out a black leather notebook with silver letters on it… It looked at least 100 years old…
