“Watch out Val. Wall.” Lori said. Valaina was so lost in her memory that she almost walked into the cave wall.

“ACK!” Valaina yelled. Yea, she ran into the wall. Lori laughed at the air head and Zash just stared at her. `Retard' was written all over that look.

“Told ya the wall was there,” Lori said, just as the came to the end of the tunnel. Their destination was an amazing sight. The tunnel let out into a huge open-topped cavern. Very little light came through the opening. Just enough to give the cavern a glow and enough to see from. Fireflies floated around, entering and leaving the hole in the top. A waterfall continuously emptied into a spring, sparkling and clear. The spring flows into a stream, leading to some other part of the cave. Zash liked the place a lot. He ran around and chased fireflies, jumping up and down.

Something most not have been right. Zash wasn't jumping or having fun. He was quiet, and still. This time, the cavern was dark, desolate. Everyone stopped and stood stock still.

“Something's wrong here-” Valaina started. She stopped because she heard a gun shot. Zash quickly jumped at Valaina, knocking her over. Good thing, too. The bullet hit the wall right behind her. More shots rang out. There was more than one gun!

“What's going on here!?” Lori called. She was on the ground too, hands protecting her head. “Look out!!” she yelled.

Valaina looked up and saw one of the villagers standing over her with a pitchfork. He brought the tool down fast, ready to kill. Valainas eyes glowed pink.

Tulu e shanta.” She said. Her voice was deeper than normal and her hand went up. Immediately the pitchfork was ripped from the man's hands and flew into Valaina's. She stood up, pitchfork ready. The man had a frightened look on his face.

“Valaina?” Lori asked. She was just as scared as the man.

With a vicious smile on her face, Valaina plunged the tool into the man. It only stopped when her hands hit his chest. Blood flew everywhere. On Valaina, Lori, Zash, and other people that came to harm them. Valaina let go of the pitchfork and let the man fall into the spring. The water turned red with blood, flowing into the stream.

“She's not a witch!” someone exclaimed, “She's a monster!”

Zash pounded into Valaina, knocking her down again. His front paws were on her chest and he was growling at her. Suddenly, her eyes grew bigger, and turned blue again.

“Wha-? Zash?” She asked, confused. Lori got up, ready to run over and help but she never made it. A woman, about 40 years old, had shot her. Blood flowed from Lori's mouth as she fell to her knees, clutching at the spot where the bullet hit.

“Va-” was all she said before she was shot twice more. Lori was dead before she hit the ground.
