Looking down at her, he smiled and caressed her lips with his. Gingerly he found himself sliding out of her before collapsing on the bed beside her. He rubbed the metal bands around his wrist, as if reminding himself that this was only a fleeting moment of pure happiness.

"I hope that was enjoyable for you," he said with a smirk.

Her hand went over her heart.
"Honestly, you can't feel how happy I am?" she whispered as she stared at the ceiling while his cum poured out of her.

He smiled and squirmed slightly.
"I can, but I'm more preoccupied with the feeling of something dripping out of me."

As he said that his hand slid down her body to her opening which he began to slightly stroke. Mia shivered lightly and looked at him while blushing. He was so comfortable with things such as this and she still felt embarrassed by it.

He felt his cheeks flush. Rolling over to look at her, he moved somehair from her face and kissed her.
"It has just occurred to me that your first time was with an immortal, heartless, and soulless being. That can't be a good sign for things to come." He smiled, showing her that he was joking in order to relieve the embarrassment that she was feeling.

She laughed lightly. Move her hand to his face, she smiled.
"You have my heart, my soul, and we are both immortal, so I consider it a good investment."

He started to make a comment when he felt a cold shiver run up his spine. Looking toward the door, he quickly jumped from the bed. Leaping over the fallen screen, he silently moved by the door. With a flick of his wrist the large bone blade slid out, ready to strike. He waited, counting down the seconds. When he stood there for a few minutes and nothing happened, he dared to peek through the eye hole. Almost as soon as he did a bullet ripped through the door, slamming into his skull and knocking him back to the floor.

Mia screamed. Wrapping the blanket around her naked body she rushed over to him while holding her head as if she was the one that connect to the bullet. Grabbing her blade, she rushed over to Neron. "Are you ok?" she asked and looked at the door.

Neron didn't respond. He just laid there as blood poured from his face. For a few minutes, that was all he did. Then all at once his eyes shot open and he gasped for air. He winced as he held his head, suddenly feeling as if he had the world's worst headache. "What happened?" He pulled back his hand and looked at the blood. That couldn't be good. Even though he remembered everything, he had no idea what had hit him.

Mia hissed as she grabbed her head. "Ow..." she whispered. Looking at her door she could see the bullet hole. "Someone...shot you..."

He pressed his hand to the wound and hissed as well. "Your arrows have gotten a lot faster...and smaller."

Mia stood. Reaching over she grabbed him some pants and handed them to her as she looked at the door trying to understand who he was talking to. Her grip tightened on the blanket around her.

Taking a deep breath, he reached for her dagger. Placing the tip against his would, he pressed the blade in deep enough to force the small projectile out. Catching it as it fell, he looked at the small silver contraption. "This is...not an arrow." He should have been more worried about the now larger and bleeding wound on his head, but he was already pushing the pain back so he could concentrate on this new magic his brothers had learned.

Going to her closet, Mia dressed quickly. She didn't have time for pants or a shirt. She threw on a summer dress a bra and some panties. It was dark out and she wasn't sure if they were going out but whoever it was out there, might come in. "Who are you talking about?"

He looked at her and shook his head. "I'm not talking about anyone," he said. "I was just looking at this." He held up the bullet. Standing, he pushed the bullet into his pocket and wiped the blood from his head. He handed her the dagger while he let his own slip out from his wrist. He didn't know if he wanted her staying inside or going outside with him. "Stay here," he said after a moments deliberation. He had no idea who it was or how many were out there. He didn't want her getting jumped because he wasn't prepared.

She shook her head. "We have to stick together," she said and handed him his pants again. "Here...you might want to put something on."

He looked down at the pants and then at his own naked form. "Right," he muttered. Slipping them on with one hand, he buttoned them up and looked back at her. "Stay behind me no matter what. If I tell you to run, run. There's no point in you losing your life in all this."

She nodded and moved behind him.

Stepping outside, he took in the chill of the night air. He sniffed, his eyes glowing as he tried to search out whoever his assailant was. A light flickered in the darkness. He instantly tensed as the dark figure lit the cigarette. Smoke escaped his lips as he looked up at Neron.

"Long time no see, Hades." His pale face, emerald eyes, and long dark hair made almost look like a raven in some aspects. He was a god, a dark, foreboding, and sinister being, but a god nonetheless.

"Who are you?"

The immortal chuckled at this. He took another long draw from his cigarette before exhaling. "You don't remember me, do you? Their curse really seemed to take a toll on you."

"Curse? What curse?"

"Oh, Hades, this is going to be too easy." As he took another draw form his cigarette, he took a deep breath. This time when he exhaled fire erupted from his mouth.

Neron quickly shoved Mia back inside as the fire licked at his flesh. Charging through the flames, his blade ripped out of his arm as he lunged at the figure.

No sooner did he try to slash at him then he disappeared. Dodging to the side, he waved his hand. His shadow extended forward as dark shadowy hands lunged up at Neron, clamping onto his throat and shoulder.

While Mia scrambled to her feet, and old man stepped into the doorway and tipped his hat. "Trust me, my dear, you do not want to get involved in that. You'll only get in the way. Its best that you stay here and wait it out."

Mia clutched the blade tighter; her eyes met the old man. "Are you his master?" she demanded.

The old man calmly walked into her house and went to her kitchen. "I am. The name is Albert Winston," he told her, tipping his hat once more while he took out a pot and some bags. "I hope you like tea. I'm in the mood for some and this could go on for quite some time."

Neron growled as the shadowy hands held him. With a loud roar, a blade extended from his left hand and he sliced through the shadows as if they were tangible. His flesh was charred and bleeding, but he lunged at the man once more.

With a quick side step, his foot collided into Neron's face. "Tsk. Tsk. Hades, what has happened to you? You use to be the best of all of us. Then again, you are rather late in awakening. The war has been going for quite some time now."

Neron wiped the blood from his lips as his eyes narrowed. "How long has the war been going?"

The man frowned and had to think about this. "I'd say about thirty years now. You have some catching up to do."

Mia ran over to the man and wrapped an arm around him, the blade going to his throat. Her heart sped up as she pulled him to the doorway. Pressing the blade hard against the man's throat she looked at his fighter. "Stop it or I'll kill him!" she yelled, fire behind her eyes. She didn't want to take his life, but she didn't want to lose Neron either. Her heart pounded hard against her chest. When the figure didn't move, she pressed the blade harder against the old man's throat watching him whimper as she dug the blade deeper into his neck. Blood poured from him and she glared at the fighter over the man's shoulder. "I'm not playing!"

The immortal looked over at her and laughed. "Albert, quit playing with her."

Albert sighed. "Very well. Though I did wish I could have had that glass of tea." In a quick movement he thrust his head backward, slamming it against her face as he heard her nose break. He brought his cane up to push her blade back and away from his throat. At the same time he pulled a sword from his cane and pressed it to her neck.

"Mia!" Neron growled as he got to his feet.

"Oh don't worry, Hades. If I wanted to kill you, you'd be dead by now," he said. "Personally you're not worth the trouble right now. You're like a lamb with fangs rather than a demon with blades." The immortal sighed. "You truly are pathetic. Albert, fix the tea. I have a feeling this is going to be a long night."

Albert lowered the blade and smiled at Mia. "I wouldn't suggest you do that again," he told her a she went back to the tea, keeping his sword drawn.

Mia slid to the ground grabbing her nose. She cried out and tried to push the pain back. Ignoring the sounds around her, she listened to Neron's quick paced heart beat. Taking a deep breath, she pushed her nose back into place and cried out once more at the pain. Crying, she grabbed her blade again and sat on the floor. Closing her eyes, she began to count the beats of Neron's heart as she moved her hand over her chest. Calming herself, she pushed the pain down.

The immortal grabbed Nero by the nape of the neck and tossed him back into the apartment room, watching as he slammed against the wall with a pleasing 'thud'.

Neron wanted to groan in pain, but he wasn't going to give this guy the satisfaction. "Who are you?"

The immortal smirked. "Long ago they called me, Loki. I was particularly fond of that name, so I decided to keep it."

Neron held his head as images flashed before him. "Loki...." He shook his head and nodded. "I remember you... Kind of. You're a bastard."

Loki chuckled and took the tea from Albert who poured three more glasses. "Why yes, I am. But I'm a bastard which loves causing chaos for the gods, which is why I'm here to give you a fighting chance, Hades."

Neron stood and walked over to Mia to examine her face. "And just why would you do that?"

"Because the gods want you to fail."

Mia looked at Neron. "I'm sorry. I'll do better next time," she promised. Lately...she seemed to be doing that a lot. She winced as he touched her nose. Her hands went to his neck, looking at the bruises.

"You did fine." His hands glowed as he took her broken nose upon to himself. Nodding, he looked back at Loki. "And just why would Perses want me to fail?"

Loki smiled. "That is the question isn't it? I could tell you...but there's no fun in that. However, I will tell you this. You are the last one to be awakened. All of us have been awake for thirty years. We're at full power. We have adjusted to modern life. We are enjoying ourselves and the conflict is raging just as it always is. In other words, you're a sitting duck."

Mia bit her lip. "I wasn't even born thirty years ago. Does that mean that you weren't originally meant for me or that I'm just really late at finding you?" Mia asked.

It was Albert's turn to smile. "Ah, that is another important question isn't it?" He walked over and handed her a cup of tea. Neron grabbed his hand and sniffed the tea, glaring at him. "Don't worry. It's not poisoned." He looked at Mia with a smirk. "I'm certain that your bond to him must be amazing. There is a trade off between warriors. When first is awakened, they have a weak bond with their master because they will have more time to build a relationship and regain their powers. With everyone else that awakens, their bonds are more powerful then the last. Since Hades here is the last to be awakened, and thirty years late no less. You must be in love with him." He laughed at that.

Neron growled. "That's all fine and dandy, but that doesn't change the fact that I have no idea what they hell you're telling me all this and why I'm so late in awakening."

"Tell me, Hades, do you remember Elyssa?"

Neron stiffened as he looked up at Loki. "Tell me about her. How do you know her?"

"Let me let you in on a little secret. You were cursed by the gods, Hades. Your memory was clouded. Your powers were weakened. You were favored among them, and now you are despised. The rest you will have to fill in yourself. I would help more, but I like watching your beautiful face contorted in confusion and agony." He caressed Neron's face at this, smiling wickedly before pulling away.

"Come, Albert. We will be leaving now."

Mia blushed as he talked about her loving Neron. So...what she felt...it was nothing more than just the bond? Watching them leave, she was left with a million questions. He had never answered her question from before leaving. Looking at Nero she stood and tossed the cup in the sink, listening to it shatter. She was so alone in this. How could she be a good master if she had no information on anything. And Neron lost him memory...the Gods were against them. Making her hands fist she took a deep breath. "This just means we have to try harder," she said to herself. She couldn't doubt her team. Not ever.
