She sighed.
"Right, how could I have forgotten?"
"I'm not trying to sound selfish..."
"I know."
"I want you to help me find it."
"I'm no use to you when it comes to that... I'm not pure enough."
"But I want you there... I've never done anything for myself all these years... I think I'm entitled to one thing, and I want that to be you."
She smiled and kissed him.
"Alright."
"Thank you..."
"So... can I get out of bed now?"
"If you don't hurt too much, yes."
"Great, cause I'm hungry," she says before getting out of bed.
Sirius chuckles as he gets up as well. She heads for the dinning area, waiting to see how the men would react to seeing her. Most of the men avoided her gaze, while others gave her nods and even smiles. Arianna looked down, acknowledging those that did something. Sirius was right behind her as she sat down. The cook came up to them and brought them both a bowl of the stew he had just cooked. He gave her a smile as he walked away.
"Well... at least some of them don't hate me."
"Better than all of them hating you I guess..." Sirius mutters.
"I never realized one mess up could do this."
"Pirates are lawless, it's no surprise..." Argus, seeing htem, moves over to their table,"Is everything okay?"
"No, it's not... I lost any trust I had all because of one mess up."
"Mistakes will happen."
"And evidently people will hate me for it."
"Don't let it bother you. They will come around."
"I hope so."
The three sat in silence as they all ate their food. After awhile, Arianna pushed her food away.
"I'm going back to my room," she said, leaving.
The two of them watch her go with sad expressions. When she gets there, she leans against her wall and allowed herself to cry. After a few hours, Sirius returns to the room and walks over to her.
"Are you alright?" he asks.
"No, I'm not," she says, "I fucked everything up."
"It was one mistake. Don't beat yourself up over it."
"But it caused a man his death."
"He knew the risks. He's a pirate, and thus he understand what may happen at any given time."
"I know that! But they... a majority of them won't even look at me."
"That's because they knew the man and are sad that he is gone."
"But even they understood... what made them change?"
"Who knows? Only they know."
"Do you think... Ben said something?"
"He didn't. He couldn't have. He would have thrown you out. Why go to the trouble of spreading word about you when he could just be rid of you?"
"So I feel alone and cast out."
"Not to me. You are not cast out."
She looks up at him, it was obvious she had been crying. Sirius holds his arms open, inviting her to him. She goes into his arms willingly and hides her face in his chest.
"It'll be okay," he says soothingly.
"Why would he do this?!"
"Don't dwell on it right now. Just relax. It's okay."
"I'm tired of being an outcast."
"It will get better. I promise."
"I don't get him at all anymore..."
"I don't think he's trying to hurt you..."
"If he wasn't, why do this?"
"I... I don't know..."
"He seemed so kind before."
Sirius shakes his head in defeat, no knowing what to say.
"I'm sorry I seem so negative..."
"You need to stop that. I try not to be angry for you. How about you try to stop being negative for me?"
"Alright, I can try."
"Thank you."
"You are welcome."
"Now c'mon. You didn't finish eating."
She smiles and nods. Sirius goes to the empty kitchen and heats her up some of the stew over a small fire. She stayed in her room, not willing to leave it. After a while, he comes back with a bowl of warm stew.
"Thank you," she says.
"You're welcome. Now eat up."
She nods and starts to eat, obviously hungry.
"Does it still hurt?" Sirius asks, a hand gently gliding over her stomach.
She flinched.
"Just a little."
"I'm sorry..." Sirius says, pulling his hand back.
"Huh? Oh, you didn't know that."
Sirius had a sad look in his eyes as he looks at the wound.
"It's not your fault," she said.
"I wish I could have protected you..."
"It's okay."
"I guess..."
She smiled and kissed him softly. Sirius gives her a kiss back and sighs.
"I’m still sorry... in a way it's my fault. If my men didn't bring you aboard, you wouldn't even be here," he says.
"And if they didn't bring me aboard, where would we be?"
"Who knows..."
"I love you," she said softly.
Sirius looks her in the eyes and gives her a smile.
"I love you too," he says.
She smiles back and hugs him. He holds her tight to him, his head rested on hers.
"I can't wait til I get better," she murmurs.
"Me neither," Sirius replies with a smile
