Haruhi sat in her chair, thinking about hat Kaoru had just said to her. What did he mean, when he said it? Did that mean that Hikaru loved her? Oh no she was out of time to think! Tamaki and Hikaru had arrived at the chair. Hikaru went first.
“Haruhi…”
“Wait! Go in there I need to talk to you!” She announced, pointing to the changing room. Bemused, Hikaru went inside and Haruhi followed him.
“This could be interesting!” mused Kyouya as Tamaki went to sulk in the corner again.
Inside the changing room, Haruhi stood facing Hikaru.
“Hikaru-sempai, how do you think of me?” She asked.
“I think, you’re cute, if that’s what you mean. Oh, and you’re not afraid to be who you are.”
“No I mean, our relationship. What do you think of it?”
“Well I…Why are you asking me this now?” he interrogated.
“Because, just now Kaoru-sempai told me not to break your heart.”
“He’s always been good at giving advice. I like you. I really like you. But I don’t want to marry you. Just because you like someone else. It would trouble you if I asked you for real. That’s why I wont.”
“But I’m not even sure who I like any more. I’m not even sure if I liked Tamaki-sempai in the first place.”
“It was Tamaki?”
“Yeah but I don’t know any more. I like two people but in different ways.”
“Am I one of them??” asked Hikaru eagerly.
“If you were, I wouldn’t tell you. I need to work things out. Okay?”
“Okay.”
Outside, Tamaki was becoming impatient.
“What are they doing in there??”
“Oh look here they come.” regarded Kyouya.
“I’ve decided that I don’t know who I like. So it looks like Tamaki-sempai wont get to propose today!” Haruhi announced.
Under his breath, Tamaki said only three words, “I can wait.”
