Outlaw Star
Gene’s new adventure.
Chapter 9-Caught.
They arrived a space station a few light years away from Tenrei. The ship docked and they got off to talk with the mechanic there. “Look Mr. When we find this thing, we’ll destroy it and be on our way. You don’t have to worry about what will happen to you space station if we stick around.” Said Jim.
“Oh yeah, well I’m not doing anything until I know it’ll be worth my while. What have you got to offer?” Asked the mechanic, eyeing Teresa, Aisha and Suzuka.
“They’re not gonna sleep with you pal, so don’t even try it.” Said Gene.
“Alright then, what else you got?”
Gene pulled Jim towards them. “Well, what’ve we got in the accounts?” Asked Gene.
“Practically nothing. All the accounts are dried up because of the stops we’ve made on the way here. Sentinel 3, Planet Tenrei, every place charged us royally to park there. Then there was the costs of re-supplying the ships weapons and our food. There’s only 2000 Wong in the account and that won’t get us very far.” Said Jim.
“So what do we do? We need to find that tracking device.” Said Aisha.
“Wait…I think I have something.” Said Teresa.
She reached up and pulled something from her hair. It was a string of Dragonite. “What the…? Where did you get that?” Asked Gene.
“On that planet…me and partner were when we worked undercover to try and catch MacDougall, there was a dragonite mine. We worked down there and I made this little string of them. This should cover the expenses for a little while.” She said, snapping the string in half.
She threw one end up to the mechanic. “That should be enough to cover the repairs and the special job we need doing. Now get it done and get it done fast.” She shouted up.
“Jim, stay here and work on the tracking node.” Said Gene.
“Gotcha Gene.” Said Jim, flying up to help work on the ship.
“I’m going to take a look around the town for a while. I’ll meet you back here at 8pm.” Said Suzuka, walking towards the elevator.
“I’m going to look for some fun. I’ve been cooped up on that ship for too long.” Said Aisha as she ran off.
Gene and Teresa were left alone again. “So, what do you want to do Gene?” She asked.
“…There’s something that’s been bugging me. When we were in the hot spring and I was about to…you know.” Started Gene, a blush staining his cheeks.
“Yes, I know.”
“When I was about to…touch you…you screamed and backed off. But when I went to hold you again, you ok about letting me. And your scar was bleeding.”
“It was? I thought that it was just the wetness from the water.”
“That’s why I want you to come with me to the doctor. Maybe he can find out what MacDougall implanted in you.”
“You think he did that to me? But why?”
“I don’t know. But let’s just see if I’m right first. C’mon.”
They left to find the stations medical centre.
~~~In space.~~~
Ron MacDougall sat in his chair, no longer needing the navigating console that kept him alive after his near death experience at the Galactic Layline. His tracking device beeped as he neared the space station. “It’s only a matter of time now Gene. My revenge will be complete soon enough.” Ron Hissed.
The computer screen came up and Harry MacDougall’s image appeared. “Hey Ron. We’re almost at the tracker’s signal. But I detect a lot of disturbance around it. It appears that those losers know about it and are trying to remove it.” Said the image.
“What about the device in Teresa?” Asked Ron.
“Something’s interfering with that too.”
“Then let’s hurry before they spoil our plans.”
The ship picked up speed and was almost upon the space station.
~~~Space Station med centre.~~~
“Alright Miss Castalia. Just lay back and relax. This will only take a moment.” Said the doctor.
Teresa lay on a table as she was wheeled into the scanning machine. Gene stood with the doctor behind the screen. “So, how long will this take?” Asked Gene.
“Only a few minutes. These new X-ray machines do a lot more in a very short amount of time. What is it you are specifically looking for?” Asked the doctor.
“Anything that shouldn’t be there. Focus on the mark above her chest, I think that may be the source.”
“Of what?”
“She’d never forgive me if I told you.”
Then, the machine began moving out. “That’s it, the scan’s complete. We’ll take these to look over and be out with you shortly.” Said the doctor.
“Can I go sit with her?” Asked Gene.
“By all means.”
Gene walked out to the room as Teresa began sitting up. But then, a glass case came around her. “What the hell!” Gene yelled as he began running to her.
But was cut off as someone appeared in front of him, and hit him with a stun gun. As Gene fell to the floor, he saw an evil face looking down at him. The face of Ron MacDougall.
