Bound Hearts

Chapter 2

Kiley stood silent in shock. Did she just say we were married?

"Did you just say we were married?" He asked.

"Yes." Momo said as she looked away from him.

"But.. Uh.. but… um.." was all Kiley could manage to say.

Momo looked down at her feet searching for the words to explain to him her situation.

After this event the rehearsal reception was well broken up. Kiley walked into the cabin he would be staying in. Momo followed him in.

"Momo I already showed you which one you would be staying in." He said a bit confused. Why was she being so quiet and why was she following him?

Once inside Kiley sat on the small bed Momo sat beside him.

"So are you going to explain to me what happened out there?" He asked her.

"Yes." she said making no further attempt to speak.

"Well." He said sounding a bit annoyed.

"Alright." she said and she was silent.

A few moments passed by. Kiley sat there staring at her.

"Ok lets start with what language were you speaking to that crazy old lady? And who was she?" He asked.

"She was my great-grandmother. I was speaking my native tribal tongue." She answered.

"Wait you have a native tongue?" He asked with an eyebrow raised.

"I'm an Amazon." She said in a whispered voice.

"No way." Was all Kiley could say. "So how are we married?" He asked.

"Well part of our tradition is you marry the man that can defeat you in combat." She told him.

"But I didn't really." He said.

"I know, I could have taken you. But this can be done in about two different ways. One you get defeated and you accept them as your husband, or two they restrain you for long enough in front of and elder and you are forced to marry them. Also if another man defeats the suitor during combat the prize is passed to him." She said.

"Wait, so because I knocked him off and pinned you I win?" Kiley asked.

"Yes. And now I am your wife according to the laws of my people." She said.

"But what about Toji? Don't you love him?" Kiley asked.

"I can love only the man I belong to." She responded with.

Kiley took this as very strange behavior. "So you are my wife. Does this mean I get to act like we are married?" He asked.

"You are my husband I will serve my wifely duties to you." She said not looking at him.

"Really?" He asked as he moved closer to her on the bed. He extended his hand to caress the side of her face. He leaned in and kissed her. She kissed him back automatically. He deepened the kiss, she let him. His other hand started to wander over her breasts. Still she said nothing in protest to him.

Kiley pooled back from her. "I want… I want to make love to you." He said.

"It is our first night as man and wife. I see it as only fitting." She said.

And with that clothing was being carelessly tossed off of the bed to the floor.
